While I have no complaint thus far on the actually service provided (my dog was recently neutered) I have a major MAJOR complaint with their ethics with their billing. After shopping around local vet offices in my area, I went with Green Trails based on a referral from a friend who uses their services for his dog. They quoted me a price of $266 for the neuter surgery when I called, and even though that was more then other places I called I felt most comfortable with a location that I had been personally recommended and I had already brought him there for his initial puppy exam. After I dropped him off the morning of his surgery, I shortly after received a call asking if I wanted to have him chipped, it was something I had wanted to do but was hesitant with a large expense already having the surgery. They explained that its preferable to do it when they are already under for the operation and since she told me it would $68 I told them to go ahead. I then receive another call from the vet that they were taking a stool sample since I didnt bring one in for his initial puppy exam (for which I was charged $70+vaccination costs) and she went over the results of that and she informed me he would need an antibiotic for a common parasite and that the tech would walk me through the instructions when I came in. They never asked me if I wanted a stool sample tested, the implication was that it was part of the initial puppy visit, and included in the fee for the first time puppy visit. So when I arrive to pick him up and am handed a bill for $518 I was completely floored, there were charges for things that I was never told would be additional to the surgery, and the ship was $20 more than I was quoted and the stool sample with also billed to me. When I questioned it they told me it was not included and when I seemed frustrated the receptionist was not willing to even let me see my dog until the bill was paid. I felt like they took advantage of me 1000000% and I will not go back. The vet says she wants to see him for a follow up, but my assumption is they want to charge me yet again for that. If thats the case Ill take him elsewhere to have him checked. Just be honest with people if you want them walking out happy... dont be elusive to what youre charging if you really think your prices are fair.

I have usually dealt with Dr. Neumann and she is really great. She always takes the time to explain all of the options not just the one that she thinks is best. I really appreciate this because when it comes to the health of my pets (they are my babies) I always feel very vulnerable and its really nice to have someone who understands. I have had quite a bit of trouble in previous years of taking my dogs to other vets and feeling like I am being cheated and being asked to purchase unnecessary items/tests but I never feel this way going to Green Trails. We will keep going back even though we have moved because they seem to genuinely care. Thanks guys!

I took my pet in for his annual physical and shots on 4/24. Cost me $287.53. Less than 4 months later I took him back for his annual Distemper shot and they charged me $45 for another physical (took his temp and felt around a little). I protested but they said I waited too long between physicals even though the Vet asked me if I wanted to come back later for the Distemper shot. As far as I’m concerned I was totally ripped off. I don’t like to feel cheated. Keep in mind, I have been going to Green Trails long before they build their stand-alone clinic. Probably close to 30 years. I will never go back or recommend them again. Dick Dixon Lisle, IL

Totally love Green Trails! Dr. K (Kolenda) is great! I have had several cats, and a few of them had some serious ailments, and Dr. K always knew what to do and how to fix the problem. Ive also had to euthanize some pets when they were too ill or very old, and the way that this was handled was completely professional, and a lot of sensitivity and compassion. I also would recommend all the other vets as they are very capable and have a great "bedside manner".

I had the same thing happen to me. No sub cleaning to prevent gingivitis. They my pet was still suffering so I brought her to a new vet and what do they find, a cracked tooth and two abscesses! This was 1 day after GTAC said she just needed a $400 cleaning with anesthesia. I had the tooth pulled, she was put on an antibiotic for the infection and will be back for a real cleaning all for $300. I demanded my money back from GTAC and they said no. DO NOT GO HERE!

My cat was not acting herself and she was having bowel problems. They got me in the same day that I called and did not treat me like an idiot took their time to show me how to give her medicine and told me what the meds were for. Dr. Petritis even called after the weekend to see how Macy was doing! They are WONDERFUL! I definitly will be this my vet! Dr. Petritis is very understanding and gentle with the animals! Thank YOU Katie

I have had nothing but great experiences at this Clinic! My 15 pound schnauzer needed good care when she was rescued from a dog pound. Unlike another post, I feel the charges are fair if not reasonable. Previously I had a dog when living on the other side of town and took that dog to a reputable, trusted, clinic - and I find that Green Trail Clinic is more reasonable with as good or better services.

I have had at least 3 dogs in my home growing up at all times and my Mom even had a pet care service. So clearly Im an animal lover, and Green Trails Animal Clinic is one of the best and most trusted clinics around. The staff is very caring both for you and your pet. Our two dogs havent had any health issues and we focus on preventive care. Thanks to the wonderful staff at Green Trails!

I started going to Green Trails after a bad experience with another vet who overcharged and over medicated my dogs. I feel the service at Green Trails is focused on the health of my pets not my wallet. They are very caring and give good advice. Once I had to call about my puppy eating a bar of soap, they walked me through what to do over the phone and didnt charge me.

We have been going to Green Trails Animal clinic since Dr. John was in a storefront office in College Square shopping Center, probably around 1986. They are a trusted, compassionate group and well definitely miss Dr. John when he retires. They have cared for our doggies: Pandora, Icarus, Bear, Electra, Cassandra, Penelope and Odysseus and one kitty, Andy. Thank you

I had the pleasure of using this vet for the duration of my dogs life . They are very knowledgeable and treat your loved one like their very own. Sadly, we put her down today. They all were a compassionate and caring staff during this difficult time.
