I adored Dr Leahy but she talked me into getting my wonderful dog Sophie a 2 year rabies vaccine and I did not want it but she kept insisting. I had to bring the dog in next year for her shots so why is she pushing the 2 year rabies. 1 Month later I brought my golden retriever in and she didnt say anything about the 2 year rabies vaccine. I asked her why and she told me it was pulled off of the market and I asked her why. She said she didnt know. I found that hard to believe. I hurried to the laptop when I got home and it turns out the 2 year rabies vaccine had a fatal flaw it overstimulates the dogs immune system causing inoperable cancer. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVED that dog! Sophie died after a year of trying to treat the cancer she developed in her SPLEEN. I would have paid anything to have her alive and well. I would have sold my house my home. This is a horrible cancer and when she stopped eating and was suffering so much we had to put her to sleep. I never got an apology and I never got over my dog Sophie. She carry her leash in her mouth while I rode my bike and never left my side. Ever Du Page cops would laugh at how cute she was to carry her leash and everyone loved her. I have only met 1 other person who had the 2 year rabies vaccine and had the same result. I would be able to forgive had she just said I have to tell you what happened with 2 year vaccine and I am so sorry for what I caused your beautiful, loving best friend to go through. But I never even got an apology or a warning on what that shot does to dogs. The 3 year vaccine ironically didnt cause this problem in my friends who get it for their dogs. I however will never take that chance that I didnt even know I was taking. I would never get a multiple year vaccine again. They have to go in for distemper and all the other things anyway. Why did you do this to Sophie and me Dr Leahy, I trusted you with my most precious friend in the world and I cant replace her like you cant replace a child.I still cry and I still miss her everyday.

Our pets have been cared for by the docs at HVAC since 2003. Weve gone full-circle with the docs and staff, from birth to the all-too-early death with one of our dogs. They were caring and compassionate in every sense. When we adopted our next dog, (who came to us full of parasites & worms) the docs and staff went above and beyond expectations to make our darling dog healthy again. Besides their annual check-ups, over the years one or another of our two dogs have been treated for fleas, mange, injuries, parasites (lots of baggage but not unusual with rescue dogs brought up from the warmer southern states) & most recently mast cell tumors. I couldnt ask for a better level of care than we already receive from HVAC. Love them, weve recommended them to more pet-owners than I can even count & most important-our dogs are happy & healthy!

If it wasnt for this clinic, I would probably have to spend a whole lot more on my dogs healthcare. For example, at Banfield, I was told that the Lyme disease vaccine costs around a hundred bucks. I actually had to forego the vaccine until I spotted some ticks clinging to my dogs fur when we were walking near the forest. So, I immediately called Hobson Valley Animal Clinic and I found out that their vaccine for Lyme disease wasnt even half the price of Banfields. This place is truly amazing. The staff is friendly and they do their job efficiently. Its almost unbelievable that they charge so little for so much care.

Im so pleased to have found Hobson Vet Clinic. They are kind and informative about what they are doing and why. They make sure I understand how to administer the medicines and what to watch for so I know my animal is getting better. Prices are good and they never try to push the most expensive treatment first but will try less expensive treatments and tell you what to watch for to make sure the treatment is working. Theyve even called to check up on my pet. The clinic is clean and I never have to wait long. Ive taken my cats here for many years and have recommended them to friends.

Ive been taking my Chocolate Lab to Hobson Valley Animal Clinic for about 6 years now and I wouldnt consider going anywhere else. Dr. Lage and staff are friendly, knowledgeable and wonderful with my Lab. I went to HVAC on a recommendation from a friend and I have recommended HVAC to many. I recently had to take my Lab to a specialist for ACL surgery and even though she got the care she needed, the other clinic lacked what HVAC has in cleanliness, warmth and organization. I will continue to go to HVAC and look forward to working with them to keep my Lab a happy, healthy girl.

We brought our beloved family dog to Hobson Valley when we first brought him home, 14 years ago. Dr. Mary has always been kind, concerned and loving in ALL dealings with Ted. We have never felt rushed during his visits and have always felt that we had her un-divided attention. He required surgery on both of his hind legs (squirrel chasing accidents) Mary was both pro-active about the situation and was great about follow up care. There maybe bigger and fancier, but your dog doesnt care about those things. Your pet will appreciate the compassion of Hobson Valley Animal Clinic

HVAC has been taking care of our pets for 19 years. They are caring, compassionate and professional. We had a rough year, losing our 12 year old dog and having a new puppy who got very sick. Dr. Lage was especially very sympathetic and compassionate through the loss of our dog and Dr. Heigl and Dr. Lage were very helpful and caring through our puppys illness (shes all better now!). They consistently follow up to check on your pet...and how the owner is doing, too. I would highly recommend all the doctors and the great staff of people they have.

The doctors and staff at Hobson Valley Animal Clinic are friendly and wonderful with the animals. They are excellent with diagnosing problems and providing treatment. My one cat had a kidney problem when she was only one year old. She needed to be there for four days and I was able to stop by after work each day to spend time with her and see how she was doing. They gave her excellent care and she has been healthy ever since. That was eleven years ago and I continue bringing my cats to them because I know they are receiving the best care possible.

I have used Hobson Valley Animal Clinic for years. Our current dog, Rudy, - a 10 year old golden - just received a clean bill of health from Dr. Lage who is terrific. Our prior dog, a German Shepard, lived a long life (13years +) for a large dog. Bottom line - Hobson Valley has paid attention to our dogs and their needs for many years which has resulted in them living long and happy lives (as it has me). I would strongly recommend Hobson Valley to anyone. Both Drs. Lage and Husar really do care about their pet patients.
