I brought my beloved 16 year old cat to a vet practice that will remain unnamed because of a concerning abscess on his left chop, and by the time I left they had cleaned it up, flushed it out, and given him an antibiotic injection, a visit that put me back $200. I was told that the underlying issue was likely a rotten molar on the same side in his mouth and they sent me an estimate as to how much a dental procedure/extraction would cost. $1400 is what they estimated!!! I was also told to come back a week later to have the sore inspected, an examination that would cost $60 just to have him looked at, but decided I would give Dr. Chang a try instead since I had been adamantly refereed to him by a fellow animal lover. I went there today and my first exam/consultation was free of charge, which was a godsend. On top of that, after Dr. Chang viewed my cats teeth and agreed that a dental procedure was the only way to really tackle the issue, he gave me an estimate of roughly $400 for the same procedure I had previously had quoted at $1400. Thanks to Dr. Chang, I will be able to have my cats teeth extracted which will likely save his life. If it were not for him, my beloved Bam would be a goner. We switched from the corporate machine known as Banfield, to this caring family vet about 18 months ago. We have been to see Dr C 3 or 4 times, and every time we left feeling like we received great service at an honest and fair price. Nothing like Banfield where they try to milk you for every penny by scaring you into purchasing services your pet did not really need. I am overwhelmingly pleased to have Dr C as our Vet.
