I came across Glendale Animal Hospital several years ago after having been unhappy with the inexperience of so many other vets when it comes to exotics. Ive been bringing my animals back to Dr. Civello since. She is very knowledgeable about both guinea pigs and rabbits, as well as very sympathetic to the small animal parent. Shes also very practical which I really appreciate. Exotic specialty vets that Ive taken piggies to will occasionally recommend invasive treatments that to me seem to put an animal with a very tiny brain through way too much stress to be healthy, while other vets have no experience with or will not see small animals. The vets at Glendale are great with small animals. I had to see a different Glendale vet, Dr Bosco, in an emergency one visit, and though her specialty was dogs she was also quite knowledgeable about guinea pigs. I have been so consistently happy with Dr Civello that at one point I did some research on her background to find that she is very involved in cat rescue (which explains the kitten adoption room in the office!) She very clearly loves her patients and her work. When I was younger veterinary care was sometimes an unplanned expense, and she was very, very good about working with me to ensure my animals well being first and floating checks or taking payment installments. I also dont believe Ive had a "bad" experience there in almost ten years and perhaps as many animals. Absolutely the best vet in the area for small animals (and probably big ones too!)

If I could give these wonderful angels a million stars, I would!!! This is an amazing place with amazing people on staff. From the front desk staff to the behind the scenes staff I could not have asked for more caring people. I always felt very comforted when I was there and the entire staff did every possible thing to help my baby. We recently moved to Illinois and I had taken her to another vet for a visit and didnt like them because they were to rough with her, she was 21 years old, she seemed worse after I had left that other place. From the moment we walked in on our first visit to Glendale animal hospital we felt every care was taken to improve her comfort and quality of life. They worked together with me to find ways to help her and comfort her. They went above and beyond anything we ever expected. Unfortunately it was just that time for my little one and she passed away 2 months ago. The staff called to check on her and I told them, within a week I received a condolence card that was so beautiful and thoughtful. We are now looking at adopting a new family member and you can absolutely believe that we will be taking him/her to Glendale animal hospital! Thank you all!

My family has always received excellent care from GAH. Nearly a year ago, my wife and I adopted a pit bull, Flip, from a rescue organization. After we had him for only 4 weeks, he started limping heavily on his front right elbow. After a couple of days of treatment with an anti-inflammatory and no improvement, we had x-rays done. Flip was diagnosed with Ununited Anconeal Process by Dr. Civello. Basically the tip of our dog’s right elbow had broken off and the same was eventually going to happen to his left elbow, too. It’s considered a congenital or genetic defect. Dr. Civello recommended Veterinary Specialty Center in Buffalo Grove for surgery, knowing that they have specialists that she trusts for her own pets. We took the advice, had the surgery done at VSC, and continued to return to GAH for treatment. We saw Drs. Bosco and Civello frequently for post-op visits, including treating an infection and laser therapy to help with healing. Today, Flip is healthy and happy and we absolutely trust the staff at GAH. I have taken other animals there in the past, and know that we will in the future as well.

We recently moved to the area and decided to use Glendale Animal Hospital due to a couple of recommendations. So far we have not been disappointed. In November, our dog needed to have a broken tooth extracted and a growth removed from her paw. The vets/staff were extremely friendly, took the time to explain everything and didnt try to nickel and dime us for everything. For example, our previous vet wanted to charge us $15 to trim our dogs nails while she was under for surgery, Glendale Animal Hospital did it for no charge. One of the stitches came untied after our dog licked her paw because we left the cone off after a meal and the vets had us come in the next day and put in a couple of staples for no charge. We were never really thrilled about our old vets in the city because I felt like they were just in business to do business, but we are very happy with our new vets at Glendale Animal Hospital who seem to genuinely care about the health of our dog.

Excellent & Compassionate Care. Our beloved special needs dachshunds have received excellent care from Dr. Bosco & Dr. Civillo over the past 11 years. They have been there for us through very serious illnesses and have saved our dogs lives several times through their prompt attention and expertise. They take time to communicate medical information and offer realistic options for treatment. They refer to specialists and follow-up regarding care that was provided. I find their prices to be reasonable. All their staff is very compassionate. One of our dogs had severe separation anxiety and was barking so much that no one could work while he was there for surgery and recovery. Dr. Bosco carried him around all day to comfort him while she worked. Ms. Gray is also wonderful in her caring approach to the patients & in offering them comfort during their visit. I highly recommend this practice.

As a former veterinary technician, I know quality veterinary care when I encounter it. Glendale Animal Hospital provides superior veterinary care with kindness and a sense of community. I would take my furry family members no where else. Dr. Bunn is our primary veterinarian, for good reason, and she knowledgeable as well as warmly approachable. I have met the other doctors as well, each open and kind. As for specifics, my 84-year-old father who has a weakness for strays and has his own cat, Bear, comes to the clinic and each time they have treated him with respect and kindness, even when he finds another wayward kitten. This means the world to me, since many businesses disregard the elderly and their needs. Do not let the size of their building dissuade you, because, in the matter of GAH, good things come in small packages!

This is the very best animal hospital I have ever used--in fact, I moved half an hour away a year ago and I continue to bring my pets to Glendale. All of the three main vets are kind, compassionate, knowledgable experts who consistently go above and beyond to provide unsurpassable care for my cats. Through their vigilance and dedication my cats cancer was detected far earlier than most cases and they were able to save his life. Dr. Bunn, Dr. Civello, and Dr. Cordon are the standard of care against whom I measure all other vets. This clinic also works hard to keep their costs down, especially the cost of medication. They truly love their furry clients. I would never go anywhere else.
