Zero is just what this vet office deserves after our last experience there. Our previous experiences had been quite good and we have recommended this vet for years to friends with pets. However, our most recent visit was anything but good. We went to get our dog his annual shots so a simple visit that was an exercise in hell! We were kept waiting for an hour in the waiting room, while the dog freaked out and there was NO ONE else there, no other pets or owners. The staff seemed to think this was humorous. Once we were finally allowed into an exam room, we were kept waiting a further 45 minutes with a freaked out dog, in a facility that seemingly had no air circulation during this visit, and again, NO ONE else had come in there were no other pet owners waiting nor any other pets waiting. Once the vet tech finally showed up she was surly and crabby and acted as if we were wasting her time being there. This was not an emergency visit, nor was it outside office hours so no reason for the poor attitude. When the vet actually lowered herself to coming into the office she was just as surly and crabby, bordering on confrontational and was angry when I told her we were there to get our dog his shots and I wasnt interested in her sales pitch for the latest and greatest (and most expensive) flea collars, heart worm stuff etc etc. We have things we use to keep the critters off of our dog and when I told her this she yelled at me that I was an idiot and launched into her sales pitch again, this time yelling at the top of her lungs because, mind you, my dog was still freaking out and she barely paid him any attention at all in her intense need to throw out this in your face, high pressure sales pitch. The wouldnt even give us our dogs rabies vaccination records or tag because they couldnt figure out how to put the bill in their computer system. This wasted a further 30 minutes of MY time so were over 2 hours into this hellish experience now. And then they had the audacity to charge us nearly $200...for services they didnt even perform! Yes, dog got his shots, but he was not examined at all, they didnt even look at him so why again did they charge me close to $100 for an office exam that was never done? Once I refused the sales pitch the vet was trying to throw out at me she didnt bother actually doing her job and was no longer interested in having anything to do with our dog, which is, ironically, her job. At least I thought thats what vets did anyway, provide medical care for pets. Maybe Im wrong. There was absolutely NO reason to keep us waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes beyond our appointment time other than this office has apparently become VERY arrogant and refuses to treat customers like valued customers of their business or even people. Nor was there ANY reason to treat us like we were wasting their time, were an inconvenience or had no business being there. This is the last visit we will ever make to this vet. There are better veterinarians in our area, one of them will be getting our business from now on. And as the owners of several pets, it will be a lot of business.

My wife brought in our 7 year old cat for an eating disorder. Dr Donna Novak treated with IV for fluids and drew blood for blood test, instructed my wife to take her home and force feed. The following day my wife was instructed to bring the cat back for antibiotic treatment but Dr Donna Novak left early and no vet was on duty at the facility. My wife was instructed by a receptionist to go to blue pearl in Elk Grove Village for emergency and when she got there my cat was pronounced dead. My pet is gone and now I have a big vet bill to pay. To those who love and cherish your pets, stay away from ambassador in Hanover Park! Very hurt and disapointed. Also to Dr Donna Novak; I hope that fire was worth it! Bad News Baby! You Suck!

I have been taking my babies to Ambassador since 2007. They have always been caring and knowledgable. I have had several very sick animals and had to visit sometimes several times a week. Everyone there have always been extremely caring. They have also been very knowledgable about the continition. I have gone to several specialists who have confirmed the diagnoses that Ambassador original gave me. I am very happy with them. The only negative is there seems to be a bit over turn over the past couple of years.

I have been going to Ambassador Animal Hospital for more years than I can recall, and all the vets are great!( DR James is beyond awesome) Top-notch all the way. Sadly, KIM, who was the BEST tech there, has left..This has led to a huge gap in quality at the front desk.Part-time employees who dont know you,or your pets, sometimes rude,or downright surly service. Hope this trend does not continue at the front desk,or we will be going elsewhere.

I have been going to ambassador for almost 8 years with all my snakes and my 3 dogs. It changed owners and they hired a bunch of retards. The staff is moronic and rude. Dr Erica is the only cool person left. I miss the old Ambassador. I wont be going there again, EVER.
