I highly recommend Animal Hospital of McHenry. They have cared for my dogs as long as they have been in business in McHenry. Even prior to this office opening my dogs were patients of Dr. Mary Bishop at another vets office in McHenry. She is always very caring, helpful and honest. She explains everything she does and the plan for whats ahead. My dog had a minor emergency yesterday so I left a message. Stacey called me and said Dr. Schmitt could see my pup right away. He is very skiddish in the car and at the office but the staff always seems to be able to calm him and get him the help he needs. I think the fees they charge are very reasonable but more importantly they love animals and I know they treat my dog like they would treat their own. Excellent local veterinary care!

I highly recommend the Animal Hospital of McHenry! Dr. Tammy Schmitt is the best! And she has excellent staff! I cannot give her and her staff enough praise. The animal hospital itself has a very homey and comfortable atmosphere for both people and their pets. It has large nicely furnished and decorated examining rooms where your pets can explore and relax a little, and nice cushioned benches for you to sit on with your pet if you like. I had been going to Dr. Schmitt at another clinic on the north side of Chicago for a number of years. When she left to have her own practice in McHenry I followed her, and we have multiple pets. That is how good she is. Again, I highly recommend the Animal Hospital of McHenry.

My 16 year old cat needed treatment since he wasnt feeling well. They made my Chester so comfortable that they had a towel with pheremones on it to help sooth him before his exam. They had me put it on my lap and hold him for a bit. 2 days later he had to test in the afternoon but said it would be okay to bring him in earlier so that he could feel more comfortable before the exam. When I got there, the tech already knew who he was and said she was going to take him in the back and rock him in the rocking chair. No wonder this Vet Center gets soooo many 5 stars. I have to add mine onto this as well. Thank you sooo much for everyone taking such great care of all my pets!

After opening our rescue we couldnt have been happier that she opened her doors and heart to all our emergency medical cases as well. Knowledgeable, kind, compassionate...these words dont even begin to describe why we love her so much. Dr. Tammy and her staff always go above and beyond for every pet that walks through their door. Over the years her commitment to excellent care has never waivered only grown stronger. Youll never find a more caring vet who always gives 110% and then some.

Dr. Mary Bishop of the Animal Hospital of McHenry is an excellent veterinarian. She has taken care of my dogs and cats since 1985. All of my dogs have lived well beyond their breeds expected life range, in large part due to Dr. Bishop’s caring professional care. I would highly recommend her and her staff. Dr. Bishop has very high standards and expects no less from her staff. It is always a pleasure to work with Dr. Bishop and her staff on any health issue that has presented itself with my cats and dogs over the years.

I thoroughly trust and appreciate the entire staff at Animal Hospital of Mchenry. Ive been taking my cat to this clinic for about 2+ years and I most certainly trust their knowledge in caring for my precious Peanutbutter Cups! Dr. Tammy Schmitt saw my Fawn on Wednesday night to have her nails clipped and to look at a small bump. Well there wasnt a bump like I thought which is good. but she noticed that Fawns fur was kinda thin at her tail. She suspected an anal problem and took care of it right away. She gave comfort to my Fawn and now my furrbaby is feeling great!
