MOST TRAUMATIC VET EXPERIENCE Had taken my cat here for vaccines and had great experience, then he randomly got sick, we took him in and the drs suggested doing an X-ray to check for blockage (showed nothing wrong) $150-160 sub Q Fluid $34 and a $200 blood test to rule out pancreatitis (showed nothing wrong) they then followed up wanting to do more X-rays, another $160, I decided to take him to his breeder for some medicine to help with his nausea bc the vet gave us nothing and he still wasnt eating, but had gone poop and pee, she gave him cerenia for his nausea and we ended up syringe feeding him some AD for nutrients. Then we took him to her vet for a 2nd opinion, right away he said his cough was very odd unlike anything he had seen, didnt seem like an obstruction at all (he said obstructions caused vommiting) and he didnt have symptoms corresponding with pancreatitis. While he is taking his temp I realize Randhurst never took his temp to my knowledge, BIG RED FLAG GOES OFF IN MY HEAD. Dr finds his temp is 2 degrees higher than normal. And he concluded it must be the fever causing his coughing and nausea-gave him a $40 shot of convenia, also sold me needles and a bag of fluids for sub qs at home(enough for 10 doses)and more AD to syringe feed if need be. He was also going to give me cerenia but my breeder had already given me some. Bill came out to just over $100. My cat is feeling astronomically back to normal 12 hours later, up following us around eating drinking climbing pooping peeing all the good stuff. I followed up with Randhurst & asked if somebody could tell me what his temp was, after being on hold almost 5 minutes the woman came back and said it was perfectly normal, 99. "Something I cant read the number" and The dr called me back and said she took it in the back and forgot to tell me about it. I asked if she understood how this seems troubling that I didnt see you do it, and it seems as if it was in fact missed in the previous appointment? I explained how I felt not all options were presented or even considered, and it felt as if your priority was making money, she said they were trying to diagnose him, but my entire point was I feel you forgot to do the one free test that could have saved me over $300. I also shared my dissatisfaction with the markup on the sub Q fluids-from what they charge a single dose they can buy 3-4 entire bags of the fluid. And its LIFESAVING when your pet isnt drinking water! And to bengals its very important because they dont have a natural instinct to drink water as often or much as other animals do because of their wild heritage. This experience was traumatic, growing up with pets and taking them to the vet through different ailments and different types of death this was the worst experience I have ever had, and I honestly still cant believe what Im pretty sure I experienced, it raised a big red flag to me especially considering multiple drs at Randhurst advised on my cat. And if in fact she did fail to take his temperature of all things, what other things do they fail to do, or overlook. I wanted to share my experience as I would never recommend anybody taking their pet to Randhurst or giving business to Randhurst. They definetly seem to care more about money than the animals them self.

My regular Vet at VCA in the City could not see our dog (even though we have been taking her to VCA for 8-years). I read the reviews on Yelp for Randhurst Animal Hospital, and based on the Yelp reviews, I gave them a call. They immediately said, "Yes, we can see your dog today." My dog had an Abscess that popped on its own and blood was gushing out like a river. When I arrived I was greeted professionally. The Vet Technician came into the room right away and asked a series of questions. She asked me if I had any questions for them. I asked questions and never felt rushed. The front desk lady, Heather, was very courteous, friendly and professional. We were ushered into a patient room immediately upon arrival. My dog, Annie, was seen in under 20-minutes. I had all of Annies medical records faxed to the Randhurst Animal Hospital, and made the decision right then and there that this would be Annies NEW Vet moving forward. Dr. OKeefe was very thorough and kind. She took her time with examining Annie. They did a wonderful job! Although Annie has a huge Abscess it did not require any sutures (stitches). I was elated! She was placed on 150mg of Clindamycin (twice per day), and also Carprofen (75mg) half tablet twice per day. By day three Annie was much improved and the wound is slowly healing. It stopped draining on Day 2, which is a good sign. I was expecting to pay closer to $200 but was pleasantly surprised at the $150 fee. This total included the expression of her anal glands, the exam/office visit, cleaning the wound and shaving the area as well as the medication. Their offices are not huge for an Animal Hospital, but this does not matter to me. It is clean. The care Annie received is worthy of 5-stars. I also give Dr. OKeefe 5-stars. The only reason for the final 4-star review is that it is not easy to spot their facility from the road. Their building is set way, way back and the sign is not easy to spot from the street. They are located next door to "Just Tires" (which is the driveway I went into by mistake). Great service. Great price-point. Great care. Great Vet.

Dr. Kumar is one of the most through, considerate, and passionate vets I have ever met. My furry family members have been patients of Dr. Kumar’s for over 10 years and even though we moved almost an hour’s drive away, we will still continue to be his patients. Dr. Kumar actually “listens” to a patient’s parents and hears their concerns and worries and takes into consideration their observations instead of just leaping right to unnecessary costly diagnostic tests. He is a true believer in preventative medicine and works hard to keep costs down as much as possible while still providing top notch care and treatment. (i.e. his vaccination clinic and monthly specials). He is extremely knowledgeable and keeps up on new treatments and medications for well… everything. I don’t know how he manages it all - In our family alone over the years, he has taken care of a patient with Cushing’s, another patient with severe allergies (including grass) and cancer, another patient with dry eye and eventual heart failure, and another that had parvo as well as all the random illness and incidents over the years. All of our adopted rescues in my opinion have had the best of two worlds – loving parents in a great home and Dr. Kumar, a veterinarian who cares/cared so deeply for their well being and happiness as much as their parents do/did. This past month our senior bulldog, Dillon, passed away from heart failure. I have never seen a vet so close to tears when Dillon passed away on his own minutes after we arrived to Dr. Kumar’s office. My husband and I believe he waited until we got there so he could say his goodbyes to his favorite Vet (The best vet in the world!). Thank you Dr. Kumar for being you! In memory of Jordan (2006), Suni (2012) and Dillon (2014) who will be in our hearts forever.
