This was the most unprofessional clinic Ive been to in my entire life. My cat has been vomiting for a few days, but has never been to the vet before. As any cat owner, and Id hope any vet knows, cats are generally more cautious creatures. My cat is deaf, so he especially needs a brief introduction, he doesnt hear you walking up. Dr. Sandhu walks in the room, doesnt even give my deaf cat a chance to know hes there, and tries to grab him out of his crate by the scruff. Of COURSE a cat is going to hiss at you, you just scared him half to death. Hes in a new place, with new people and new objects, and then something just comes out of nowhere and grabs at him. After that, I opted to hold my cat so he could perform the checkup, but Dr. Sandhu just kept grabbing at my cat, who of course resisted. After literally about 2 minutes of trying, he said he cannot help me with my poorly behaved cat today since they dont have the resources to sedate him until another day. I suggested putting a mask on his face, and the doctor wearing gloves, but he refused. Which I understand, you need to be safe, and the cat needs to be safe. Its really OK if he doesnt feel comfortable working on my cat, I didnt even trust him with my cat since he obviously had no knowledge of how to handle one. He did say that with sedation he would have taken xrays and drawn blood. When I asked him where he would draw the blood from, because the cat was calm in my arms, and I could hold him down, especially if he were wearing a mask, Dr. Sandhu in all seriousness replies "the vein". Really, blood comes from veins??? I had no idea! However heres the kicker: We spent about 5 minutes in the room, were told he cant help my cat, but he STILL tried to charge us for a full price office visit!! Ridiculous! I paid the 39 dollars, walked to my car, and realized, what did I just pay for??? He didnt do ANYTHING. If you go to a car repair shop, and they cant work on your car, they say, "Sorry maam, we cant work on your car, have a nice day." They dont charge you for that. I walked back inside to ask what I was paying for, I just wanted some explanation. Ive been to other vets for 30 minute visits, but not much accomplished, and they charge you for a "small office visit" instead of a full office visit, which is about half of the normal price. I told them that, and just very calmly asked for an explanation. They didnt have one, but they did refund my money and told me to never come back. Of course I wont be coming back, but seriously how unprofessional. I hope I can deter you from coming here either, at least not with a cat. This doctor was clearly incompetent and had no passion for working with animals or even simple understanding of cat behavior.

We took our two pups here back in 2013 for a teeth cleaning. I got a call an hour after I dropped them off, telling me that my dog had gotten out of the building (seriously)... Door closing protocol? I think not. How does a dog get past all of that staff, through MULTIPLE doorways?? I had to rush over and run around outside in -10 degree weather to look for my dog. I expected to find her hit by a car on Layton Avenue... she is an 11 pound Pomeranian. After an hour of searching, I found her running on the opposite side of the street, so I had to sprint over frozen fields to get her (falling 3 times). She was somewhat drugged up already, and was clearly distraught and terrified, so she wasnt listening to me. Finally, with the help of a police officer and some amazing pedestrians, we cornered her by a factory and I was able to slip a leash on her (after she got scared again and jumped off of a 7 foot drop). To top off this incident, the Airport Animal Hospital gave me NO discounts on my services. I still had to pay full price for two teeth cleanings and other shots that were needed. They are lucky that I came back to have their teeth cleaned.. and the only reason I did is because Dr. Sandhu was very gentle with my dogs. I no longer go here because I cant trust that they will keep my dogs safe when they are there for more than a checkup.

I dont recomend this place either. Dr Sandhu is so unprofesional, and he is scared to treat your pet. I have the more amazing dog and (Labrador) , sweet and friendly with people. The Vet never interact with my dog. Just asking simple questions. I took my dog there because he had a tumor on his eyelid (it looked really bad), and right away the Vet said ." you need an eye Dr"...... He never try to look my dogs eye or give any sugestions about my next step. I asked him what I should do, and he said " your dog needs surgery but it is so expensive". Really?.... what make him think that I cant afford it? Then I asked him if he has some "eye Dr" like he calls an specialist..... and his answer was "I dont know..... you have to google it " ... So he just put the rabies shot to my dog and leaves. My bill was $75.oo...............just for 15 minutes "check" After a year of this appointment, I never get a following call about my dog situation. I just got a reminder last week about the renewal of the rabies vacination. His staff?????? no friendly. Totally disapointed. By the way.... I have to google, and I found this amazing place WVCR with a wonderful Specialist who practiced the surgery in my dog. It has been a year since then, and my dog is doing so wonderful. Never, never go to the Airport Animal Hospital.

My cat has had a streak of bad luck when it comes to his health. He was diagnosed with bladder crystals when he was only one, then diabetes when he was seven, and then the occasional infection of something due to diabetes lowering his immune system. Throughout his life, I depended on Dr. Raj Sandhu to do what has to be done so my little buddy can live happily and healthy. I still depend on him to keep my kitty well. Dr. Sandhu and his staff are kind, professional, and caring to both me and my cat’s needs. The prices are decent too – I must come to this place at least 4 times a year now (not counting the times I go to buy his prescription cat food) and I never felt like I was spending too much. My family and friends all use this place for their pets. I highly recommend Airport Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a wonderful vet experience with a great staff at a reasonable price.

I will never return here and hope to convince others to stay away. I have three cats, and like another reviewer said, cats are cautious creatures, especially when taken to a new environment and surrounded by people and things they are not used to. The entire time while examining my cat, he was talking about sedating her to the point of sleeping so he could examine her. While I understood the reasoning, being a veteranarian for multiple years I would assume he would know that there is always another way. I have since started going to St Francis Animal Hospital, where the vets, techs, and even the clerks, were all compassionate and understanding. If you can, stay far away from this place. There is so many more vets in the area.
