The 3 most important things veteran back sufferers need to know about Dr. Lucas are: 1. He WILL fix your back problem (as well as other problems). 2. He will do it WITHOUT cracking your back. ( He uses advanced medical equipment) 3. NO CONTRACTS and NO PRESSURE for multiple money draining visits. I am one of Dr. Lucas first patients. I worked with his mother back in 1990 and one day when I went to hand her a file, I yelped in pain. She asked me what was wrong and I told her I had really hurt my shoulder diving for a baseball in the outfield. I hadnt been able to lift my right arm above my shoulder nor sleep on my right side for 6 months ( I didnt want surgery and just hoped that eventually I could work through it). She said, Youve got to see my son Ronnie and told me about him, so I made an appointment. He diagnosed it as multiple minor tears in the rotator cuff and that the pain and lack of mobility was due to scar tissue that had developed in a matted pattern in my shoulder. After a few visits, I had full mobility, no pain, and could throw a 16” softball from the outfield again. After my amazing recovery from the rotator cuff tear, I asked him if he would evaluate my back issues. I had suffered for years from lower back problems and a terrible neck issue (more sports injuries) and told Dr. Lucas that I had been seeing several chiropractors (back crackers all) for years with no real lasting relief. He took x-rays and was very honest in his assessment. He said my neck injury was severe, (affecting my lower back also) and that I would probably feel worse before I felt better if he started treatment. I was taken back by his candor, but I realized this was the exact character trait that set him apart from the others. I gave him the go ahead and he was right (like he always is). It was rough at first and I would have doubts, but I stuck with him. And how glad I am, as well as my wife and my mother-in-law and a former pastor and his wife, and Renee and Star and Cyndi (the miracle lady in a previous review. Yes, Im the friend she mentions) and Dennis and Shirley and.., well you get the picture. Every person, let me re-state, EVERY person weve ever referred to Dr. Lucas over the past 2 decades has been completely satisfied. Thats a phenomenal track record. Dont let your MD give you drugs, because they only mask the issue. and please, please dont consider surgery until you have at least seen Dr. Lucas. My brother in California, as well as 3 friends, have all had back surgery and it has just led to more problems ( as Dr. Lucas will explain to you). Dr. Lucas staff: Maureen, Kathy and Bonnie, are wonderful and caring. Let me conclude by telling you that after I hit my late forties a decade ago, I decided to retire from the contact sports and take up golf. Now, any back sufferer knows that this is probably THE worst sport for the back. But I am playing twice a week during the season. Yes, when I occasionally lose my mind, go gonzo, and attempt to hit a 300 yard drive, thereby contorting this 58 year old body in a manner not intended by design, Ill screw my back up. But one visit to Dr. Lucas and Im good to go. And I will be forever grateful to Lorraine for telling me about her son Ronnie!

My mother is 82 years old. Weeks ago she suddenly woke up with severe pain in her neck radiating down left side of back and left arm. On a scale of 1-10, it was a 10 and she could not do anything including sleep. She waited a few days to see if it would subside but it didnt so she finally went to her doctor. The doctor did not take X-rays or anything but felt her back and said it was tightening of the muscles and gave her muscle relaxers and ibuprofen. A week later, it was still as bad, the muscle relaxers did not help and she called her doctor again and he said it takes time, to give it another week. Well, being in extreme pain and unable to go anywhere or perform regular home tasks like washing a dish or throwing in a load of laundry, she just could not stand it anymore. Talking to various people in my office and also she was talking to many of her older friends who recommended she see a chiropractor. One friend recommended Dr. Lucas. Mom immediately made an appt. Dr. Lucas staff were very friendly, professional and made us feel welcome. Dr. Lucas was wonderful, he took the time to review Moms health history on a summary document she completed, he made mom and I feel comfortable and at ease as this was a new experience for mom and for me as an onlooker. He also took xrays (yes!!!) and determined that the pain was originating from a "nerve" in her neck, not muscles at all. He started treatment that same day and when we returned home, her pain had gone from a 10 to a 4 - amazing !!! We could not believe the results. The next day, she felt great as well. She is continuing her treatment with Dr. Lucas and we are so grateful for his knowledge and care and highly recommend his services.

After 3 back surgeries, 3 series of epidural shots which did not work and a year of going to a pain clinic (a horrific experience), I again found myself unable to walk, lie down or even sit for 5 minutes without severe sciatic pain. Following an MRI and Mylogram, a neurosurgeon told me it was too dangerous for him to operate because of the scar tissue from my 3 previous surgeries. His only alternative was another series of epidural shots which I declined. Still experiencing the severe pain which greatly affected my daily life, I decided to search the Internet for a chiropractor. I had gone to chiropractors in the past for sciatic pain but my last experience with a chiropractor was not a good one and I ended up in more pain then when I started with him. In my search, I came across Dr. Ronald Lucas and read a number of his patients’ reviews and decided to call and make an appointment. Dr. Lucas saw me the next day. He looked at my MRI film and confirmed that I had herniated and bulging discs, stenosis, and degenerative disc disease. He spent quite a bit of time examining and talking with me. He then asked me to give him 4 weeks and said that if we didn’t see any improvement in that time he probably couldn’t help me. He told me that I would never be back to 100% but after the 4 weeks, I was able to walk, lie down and even sit for longer periods of time without severe pain. I have continued to improve with his treatments and now I only experience some pain when I sit for extended periods of time which is relieved by my getting up and walking around. I respect Dr. Lucas for his truthfulness and highly recommend him and his staff. I can never thank him enough for giving me my life back.
