I cant say enough about the care and support we have had from Animal Hospital of Gurnee! Dr. John has been there during very stressful times and has saved our horses. He is so caring, professional and so knowledgeable integrating naturopathic medicine with Western medicine. He saved one of our horses using stem cell therapy along with chiropractic to bring him back from a broken pelvis from a kick. Other vets said at best he would be yard art but because of Dr. John I am riding him again and he is sound and very happy. He saved another of our horses during a bad founder episode and with his expert care and sound advice and support to empower us by teaching us how to give injections and to be confident during the critical care period. She made it and I am now riding her again. He was there during the end of our older horses final hours and helped assist to keeping him comfortable during what could have been a very painful and devastating departure. Whenever I need him hes been there! Hes like a white Knight! He cares for our dog and cats also. We are so fortunate to have him and the staff at Animal Hospital of Gurnee to care for our beloved furry friends. Thank you so much!

I adopted a kitten in May, 2007 who turned out to be a very sick little guy. I took my sick kitten, Rukus to the vet who takes care of my dog, but she was not able to get his upper respiratory infection completely under control and claimed there was nothing else to do but let it run its course. When the time came to neuter Rukus I took him to the Animal Hospital of Gurnee because that is where the Humane Society I adopted him through recommended and paid for the procedure. Dr. Rogers examined Rukus before performing the procedure and called me to discuss the fact that he still wasnt really healthy enough to endure the surgery. We talked about some other treatments and before long, Rukus was growing and thriving and healthy. I absolutely love Dr. Rogers! If you are looking for a caring, compassionate, intelligent, resourceful and true animal lover for a veterinarian, this is the place you need to take your pets. If you love the animals you share your life with, make sure they receive the best treatment possible and take them to the Animal Hospital of Gurnee! I now take both my cats and my dog there too.

I am upset becuase I always brought my cat here. He was breathing funny about 6 months ago and I brought him in to get checked out. Of course when he was getting checked out he wasnt breathing funny anymore. They suggested he get his teeth cleaned which they had to check his blood etc, but didnt think there was anything wrong with him. Thursday I got home and he was laying on the floor in pain, bloated, foaming at the mouth and making horrible sounds. I rushed him to grayslake emergency hospital which they immediately asked to do an xray. They found that he had a serverly enlarged heart and his lungs were 75% full of fluids. If surgery was done his lungs could fill back up immediately and he only would have around 6 months to live, which he would still be in pain. He was only around 11 years old. It upsets me bc if Gurnee would have ran an xray, they would have found this and he could have been on meds and I would have known his days were numbered. Feeling lost.

As a boxer breeder/exhibitor I can say that I have used several of the vets in the area. As far as being knowledgeable, I cant say enough - they are amazing. When it comes to being caring towards the clients and animals - there is no comparison in this area. This is by far the best vet clinic in Northern Illinois - they care about their clients and animals - and I would recommend them to anyone seeking a new vet, or who is considering changing vets. Each client is treated with respect, each animal with concern and care - Animal Hospital of Gurnee has everyones best interest at heart.

Very good vet! I drive an hour to get to them, and it is worth every minute. Dr. Hanover Sr. makes me feel at ease with whatever procedures my Dobermans need. We also use them for our horses at work and Dr. Hanover is always available at a moments notice! Thank you all for your love of animals!

Dr John has been taking care of my horse for over 12 yrs, and my dogs from time to time. The care we have received has been great! Dr. John is available to answer questions and make house/barn calls - and has always been very responsive to our furry kids needs. So happy we found them,!

I have been going to this clinic for years they are the BEST!!! Wonderful Care!! And they give you a fair price not like so many other places!! It is a bit far for me to drive but my dogs are very special to me and they always go the extra Mile!!!! Best of the BEST!!!

Great clinic, they dont over charge and they dont do unnecessary procedures. They will honor your requests with what you want to do. Caring staff and doctors here and are not pushy for certain procedures! Go here for both my dog and cat!

Everyone here is so caring and I always leave here knowing my dog Butterscotch was given the best treatment and extra attention. Most dogs hate going to the vet but Butterscotch gets very excited to come here.
