No exaggeration, this is the absolute best dental experience Ive ever had. As is typical, I am fairly nervous when it comes to dental procedures. From jarring sounds of drills, to jolts of severe tooth pain, there are more than a few negative elements that make me wary of a dental visit. Watkins Family Dental however finds a way to soften the experience. Not only do their offices and procedure rooms make for a much more comfortable environment, but all members of the staff, from the front desk, to the dental assistants, to Dr Andrew Watkins himself, provide a genuinely friendly and caring personal interaction as well. The dental procedure rooms themselves have an aesthetic that Ive never seen before. Rather than an intimidating prison cell blandness that Ive been familiar with in the past, your dental chair faces a full wall of glass leading your view into a very pleasant garden area. Hanging feeders attract birds and squirrels, and overall the scenery is much appreciated in exchange for a plain flat white wall. Comfortably cushioned headphones are provided, and there is a large array of music preferences to choose from to help drown out the distasteful sounds of a dental drill. I didnt opt to have no2 gas be administered during the procedure, however it was nice to have that offered up front rather than it be something I would have to feel awkward in requesting myself. The dental work itself was precise and efficient, with great attention given to my comfort throughout the entire experience. I highly recommend this being your dental care provider should you be in search of one local here in Bloomington.

I had my silver fillings on one side of my mouth removed and replaced them with white fillings. My teeth look and feel FABULOUS. No rough or sharp places are on my teeth. (If I could feel rough or sharp places, they would fix it immediately). Next week they will do the other side of my mouth. A Big Wide Open Mouthed Smile with no silver dark fillings to show. Now thats a bright pretty smile. I cant wait until the other side is done. Thank you Andrew P. Watkins DDS! Thanks to the Dental Assistant for making me comfortable with the music, nitrous, and prepping. I think her name was Tiffany. Overall I had a good experiance as usual with the Watkins Family Dental Team. Part Two Today I had the silver dark fillings on my right side taken out and replaced with white. WOW, Amazing . Dr. Andrew Watkins took extra care to ensure my invisalign still fit perfectly after the new white fillings were placed. I dont feel any rough sharp edges. Overall, it was a great happy experiance. I should have had this done years ago. Last time, I didnt have extra sensitivity nor did I need pain relief medications after the procedure. I expect this time will be the same. Ive been going to Dr. Watkins since I was a child, now my own family goes there as well. Kind, friendly staff, not normal business friendly, but family friendly. The front desk staff is always helpful (and entertaining) while the dental assistants are thorough and knowledgeable, theyve continued their education throughout the years and seem to have knew technology and techniques every time I go in. The comfort of the rooms themselves is pretty impressive. When Ive had to have work done the Tvs over head, and the headphones really take your mind off the work. (Nitrous helps too) As bad as I hate to admit it Ive fallen asleep to many time during the work. Dr. Watkins practice of numbing the injectoin site before a shot is really comforting as well. Hes always kind and friendly and while Ive not met his son yet, my mother, father, and many friends have only good things to say about him. If your looking for a dentist thats kind, does quality work and surrounds himself with people of the same caliber then Dr.Watkins family dental care is your place. They dont judge, Ive never felt looked down upon. You cant go wrong with these wonderful people.

I completed an online appointment request after hours on their website on Thursday night and explained the problems I was having with my teeth. They called me back the next morning and got me in quicker than I ever imagined. I had not been to the dentist in four years so I was a little stressed out about it. Everyone on the staff took great care of me and made me feel at ease! As soon as I finished my new patient paperwork, they called me back! The dentist that I saw, Andrew Watkins, explained exactly what was going on. He explained my options in detail with recommendations on what he would do if they were his teeth. I have been to other dental offices that didnt care to explain things to me or give me options. I dont usually do online reviews but I think everyone deserves similar dental care. If you live in Bloomington and are looking for a family dentist, you cant go wrong choosing Watkins.

I have been a patient for many years and here are the reasons I recommend Dr. Watkins. Besides being a charming person, he is a first rate dentist and always current with improvements in his profession. I had an appointment to get a crown yesterday, my first in many years and I was shocked by the fact that it was almost completely painless despite the fact that I did not use the gas but just listened to my favorite music and watched pictures of nature and wildlife on the overhead monitor. No white knuckles. There is almost never turnover in the office staff, a sign of a well run business, and the ambiance is cheerful and relaxing. My husband, son, mother and in-laws are all his patients.

I moved to Bloomington recently and needed to find dental care. I was surprised to see my surname pop up! I was very happy with my first visit to Watkins Dental Care. Although, we arent actually related, the staff there made me feel like I was a part of their professional family. Everyone at Watkins Family Dental Care was very nice, welcoming, knowledgable, and informative about everything for my visit - and my next visit! Another bonus is that I dont have dental insurance but Watkins Family Dental Care offers an in house plan thats a recurring annual fee, its very affordable for anyone without insurance.

I LOVE this dentist! His son recently joined the practice and Ive seen him several times. He is very friendly, explains things in detail and really listens and takes the time to address any concerns I have. The hygienists are great too. I always feel at ease with all of the staff here. Their equipment and building are top notch too. In your room you have a full view of their garden with all of the birds and squirrels running around. Its very relaxing! You can even watch TV or listen to music while you are waiting.
