I showed up because my body has been covered in hives for at least 4 weeks. I had originally thought that maybe I had gotten into poison ivy or maybe some other plant that I had a reaction to because we had been doing work in the backyard so I just treated it as such and hoped it would go away. But, it didnt so I went in. The receptionist staff was really sweet and they were really nice but when I got back to get checked out by the doctor, he walked in grabbed my arm and said "yes those look hive like...I wont ask you any questions because I find them pointless. No one ever knows exactly what they have changed in their lifestyles so Ill save us the trouble." He then said he would call in a steroid pill to my pharmacy and send me on my way. I then asked him if it would be okay to take those pills since Im breastfeeding and I didnt want it to effect my baby. He then literally told me he had no idea if it would effect the baby or not and it was my choice to pick up the prescription. (Keep in mind Im covered from head to toe in hives and my right eye is swollen from whatever is causing these things to pop up) he then opened the door and asked if i had any more questions before he left. I said no, and just stood there in shock as he walked out. I went here instead of the other clinic in town because I hoped with a name like St. Vincent they would have slightly more educated and compassionate doctors who cared about their patients but apparently not. I feel incredibly disregarded and like I didnt matter. He literally spent about a minute and a half-two minutes in there with me. There was literally no one else there as far as patients go and they werent even busy but I just got brushed out like I didnt matter. Ive never been so upset with how I was treated before. So upsetting.
