I scheduled a preventative cance screening with Dr. Kathy Cook. At the appointment I waited nearly 40 minutes past my scheduled time. The nurse was very nice. Thats the only nice thing I can say about this place. At the beginning of the appointment I told the nurse that this visit must be billed as preventative. She assured me it would be, took down my concerns about my moles and a dark brown cyst (I THINK) that was on my leg. Kathy came in, did not ask me anything except where I was last checked and who did the pathology. She looked at one mole, if even that. As she was half out the door, the door was literally open with her hand on it, I said will you please look at the mole on my face AND this thing on my leg. Came back in and said "its fine." Did not adequately give me any sort of cancer screening. Im covered in asymmetrical moles and it took 30 minutes for the last derm to go over my body! The nurse took pictures of my body. That was the visit. I also signed a release of information so the facility could request my old path results. Two days later they called me back and said the prior path came back as "abnormal" and I needed to come in for the mole to be removed. Later I looked at my EOB and was billed as an office visit. They then claimed they do not provide preventative care and cancer cannot be prevented. I said I would go elsewhere for my mole removal and expressed my distaste for the horrible doctor and rudeness of the billing department and the receptionist. Cancer cannot be prevented?! Lie. Today I saw a plastic surgeon to have the mole removed. When Iowa clinic requested my path from Cooks office they said they didnt have any pathology from me even though they claimed they had received it to me. This office is disfuntional. There is no way I would ever go back. I assume, by the looks of the waiting room, that had I come in for Botox, cool sculpting, Latisse, or anything cosmetic, I would have been treated entirely different. But since I was there for an ACTUAL health issue, CANCER, I was pushed aside. This doctor does not care if you have concerns about cancer, she would rather pump your forehead full of botulism and freeze your fat away. THE WORST DOCTOR AND THE ABSOLUTE WORST FACILITY I HAVE EVER VISITED!! Skin cancer has already been found on my younger sister at 17 years old and I have had FOUR precancerous moles removed. I dont take this lightly and now I have to go see another derm for another preventative cancer screening. DO NOT GO TO KATHY COOK. Shes the kind of doctor who would amputate the wrong leg!!!!

This Dr was so low on my scale I wont even give her a 1 star but i have to to post this! She was rude and unprofessional to us and after the texts they send to be there at such and such a time, well we showed up and she ignored us and then proceeded to say that your late, new patients have to show up half hour early to fill out paper work, and that was it, she couldnt even get off the phone long enough to explain or say sorry I cant do it today or anything!! Like we didnt have anything better to do today than get off work early to go to her appt that was made a month ago, so we have been waiting long enough. If thats how you do business then count me out, we will never recommend her to anyone!!! Signed better off somewhere else!!
