Going to the dentist isnt scary anymore. When everything is pretty much painless, whats to be afraid of? Both Dr. Doug and Doctor Ben are gentle and reassuring with all their patients and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable while your teeth are being cleaned or while youre undergoing a procedure. You will receive excellent dental care while you are in their hands and their aim is for that excellent care never to hurt. The staff at Horton Family Dental are all very professional but also warm and caring, and very well trained. The hygenists are all excellent and the receptionist willl know your name very quickly, which makes going to the dentist kind of like going to Cheers where everybody knows your name. So, no pain, great staff and a comfortable place to be...what have you got to lose? Make an appointment today, put yourself into the hands of the experts and take care of those teeth!

Ive been coming to Horton Family Dental for at least twenty years and frankly chose them because I knew Dr. Horton was on the ARC Board and was the family dentist for a child with a difficult disability. I thought "thats my kind of guy!" And I have never regretted it. Horton Family Dental really lives up to its name as a "family" dental practice...they feel like family. They are also very professional and up-to-date on the newest techniques and will help you plan how to meet your long-term dental needs and pay for them. Most surprisingly, I was hit with an extreme tooth pain at about 4:30 one afternoon at a workshop I was attending. I called in desperation to Dr. Horton, he told me to come straight away, and he worked on me until 6:00. Thats family. I am also very pleased that "young Dr. Horton" has joined the practice, so there will always be continuity with the Horton values and skills.

Horton Family Dental is an exceptional family dentistry in the true sense of the phrase. They are friendly, communicative and answer all of the questions they are asked. Father/Son Dentists always will let you know what theyre doing, why theyre doing it and what to expect. Their expert staff are friendly and professional and make an effort to know your name. Their Hygienists are top of the line and professional and always make you feel welcome and comfortable. A trip to the Dentist is no longer a negative thing when you are being cared for by Horton Family Dentists. Just one thing though, why do they only ask you a question when your mouth is full of equipment and/or fingers???

I have been seeing Dr. Doug since I was a small child in the 1980’s. As an adult, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The dentists I have gone to when I’ve lived away from Iowa did not do nearly so good a job. I found myself making special trips back home when it was time for a cleaning or I was in urgent need of dental care, such as the time I chipped a tooth when I was out of state at college. Their staff are professional but friendly, and they have always been good at answering my questions. I only had one problem with one staff member, and that was resolved quickly and to my satisfaction. Would recommend Horton Family Dental to anyone.

Bob and I have had only great experiences since becoming "Dr. Horton fans" Both of my sisters go to the father and son practice also. Theyre both nice. Dr. Horton Sr. gave my husbands awesome smile back to me. For that, he has my eternal gratitude. His staff, every one of them, are friendly, professional, and very good at what the do. Ive referred several friends with the knowledge they will have a good experience also. Dont ever be disappointed again. If your thinking of making a change, call them. Youll be happy you you did.

I recently required a replacement tooth for a baby tooth that had to be extracted . The permanent tooth an incisor, had never erupted, so was left alone for decades. An implant was not advised. Dr. Ben put a crown on with an attached tooth to fill the gap. I was very apprehensive about the whole procedure. Every thing was carefully explained diagrams included. The procedure went very smoothly and I no longer feel self conscious when I speak to any one. Thank you Dr. Ben,

I have been going to Horton Family Dental since I moved to Cedar Rapids in 1990, I never liked going to the dentist when I was younger and this reluctance continued until I started seeing Dr. Horton. While I can not say that I look forward with great anticipation to my next checkup, I can say that I will never look for another dentist! Both Dr Horton and his son are best dentists I have ever worked with.

You will find the nicest people in this office from the front desk and the dental hygienists to Dr. Doug and Ben Horton. It takes a lot for me to be comfortable with a dentist. A long time ago I had a root canal done without anesthetic. It ruined me on dentists for years. That dentist eventually lost his license. Doug and Ben Horton and their staff make me feel completely comfortable. They have gone to bat for me with my insurance company more than once. Their skills are exemplary. I highly recommend them.

The Drs and their staff are so friendly and well trained, it is like visiting old friends. Anytime I have had a problem I have been seen the same day. I am glad to receive the timely reminders! I am always treated promptly with courtesy. Dont tell either of the Dr. Hortons but I have dreaded, yes, feared going to the dentist for many years. Now - I cant say I enjoy it - but I do not mind at all going to either of the Dr. Hortons. They are professional and kind. I have been going for over 20 years and will continue!
