I have been taking my pets to this vet for 15 years. I love them and trust them completely. I will go nowhere else. I have over the years referred many friends and acquaintances to them, I dont know why it took me this long to write a review. They have always treated myself and my pets with the utmost care and respect. The cost has always been reasonable, sometimes much better than expected. I feel they are always looking out for my pets best interest. I have on occasions over the years called them unexpectedly and they either let me bring my pet in right away or get me in as soon as they are able. I have never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time, for anything. When I have a concerned they never put me off if I call, they are always willing to take the time to talk to me about the issue and decide whether or not I need to bring one of my pets in to be seen. If you want to take your pet somewhere where you know they will get the best care by a wonderful vet and staff, I highly recommend Highland Park Animal Hospital. Thanks so much for all your wonderful care over the years!

The other day my mom brought our 14 year old dog in, she had broken a cyst open on her back and was bleeding everywhere, we decided she was in pain and it wasnt fair to her anymore to have to suffer so it was time for her to be put to sleep, she couldnt see anymore, she couldnt climb up and down stairs, and she was falling, they took her back gave her some powder to stop the bleeding and some pain medicine and said "we dont do that" & proceeded to tell her we would have to come back several more times and try other things and sent her home. She wasnt home 15 minutes and she had broken it open again. There was blood everywhere, puddles of blood. We got the bleeding stopped & got her comfortable in a large kennel. My upbeat dog laid crying in pain all night long, she wouldnt eat or drink and her breathing was slowed down. She passed away yesterday afternoon. Im very disappointed that this vet couldnt see how much pain she was in and realize taking her out her of pain and misery was what was best for her. Instead we all suffered and had to watch her suffer.

My cat is scratching herself bald. When we tried to call for an appointment they said we couldnt get in until Saturday. The receptionist said if we had walked in she would have asked us to leave. Im sorry but if I cant count on my vet in an emergency, then I dont really want that vet. Bottom line: Im sure highland park is great... Right up until you really need them.

I love this place, and even more-so.. MY DOGS LOVE going here. I even speak the words about going to Highland Park and I cant open the door fast enough, theyre ready to get in the car. Great service, excellent staff, and even better pet care!

These are the kindest people, yet they are aware that all of us live on a budget. My cat exhibited nervous behavior that I hadnt recognized, and the vet here prescribed an antidepressant. She is much better now.
