Dr. Colby Nelson has a very comfortable office and a friendly and helpful staff. He took the time to explain his treatment program after very thoroughly showing me my spinal X-Rays and what has been causing my sciatica and other mid and low back pain and symptoms for a long time. He answered all of my questions. He has modern equipment in very clean rooms, and he is gentle in his adjustments with me. He is not one to push supplements, insoles or other things on me, unless he feels I need them. He is conservative in his approach, and told me what I knew from other doctors: What I have had for a long time will not resolve itself or be "cured" or "healed" in just a month or two. He is a very professional and personable doctor, and I look forward to continuing to go to him for top quality care for my back problems, which also affect other health issues I have had for some time as well.

When I first came to AFCW, I was a little skeptical of chiropractors. I havent had the best experience in the past. However, the moment I walked through the door, I felt at home. The receptionist is very nice, I was given a tour of the office, and I was able to sit down with Dr. Nelson and go over everything and ask questions before we even started. The office is very comfortable and professional, they even have a kids area for little ones to play. My whole family now sees Dr. Nelson. He has done wonders with my son (3 yr) for his allergies and he sleeps so much better than he ever has. My husband used to have a lot of trouble with his neck being stiff and not being able to turn his head very well. After a few appts, his neck is so much better and he has no more pain!!

I love Active Family Chiropractic and Wellness. Dr. Colby makes sure he educates his customers about what he does, why he does it, and how it helps your body. He believes in creating long term results, rather than quick fixes. He is always open to answering my questions and is detailed with his responses. He helps me understand what I can do to improve my overall health and seems to care about me as a patient, rather than viewing me just as a number. I highly recommend Active Family Chiropractic and Wellness and have seen amazing results over the last couple of years. I have never been pain free from my sports injuries until now.

I started receiving chiropractic care from Dr. Nelson when I began experiencing severe back pain and frequent headaches during pregnancy. Regular adjustments have completely alleviated my back pain and I’ve yet to have a single headache since we began. Not only have the adjustments helped with the issues I originally went in with, but I’ve also noticed I am sleeping better and generally have a lot more energy. I have had a great experience with Dr. Nelson. I came in after running the Des Moines marathon and was having major back pain. My back pain had been going on for a long time due to extensive running. Dr. Nelson set me up on a program to get my back into alignment and also worked with me on exercises. This was my first experience with a chiropractor, so I wasnt sure what to expect. I am now feeling much better and am able to run again. Very friendly service and Ive always been able to get in when I need to. Highly recommend!!

I drive several hours every week for work and before starting to see Dr. Nelson I had severe neck and back pain. Before starting treatment, Dr. Nelson took the time to go over my test results and the plan of action we would take to get my back and neck back into good shape and answer any questions I had. I am very pleased with the results so far, my back and neck feel great and allow me to sit in the car more comfortably and sleep better! Plus Dr. Nelson and his staff are very pleasant! Great experience all around!

Dr. Nelson is a great chiropractor! The first time I visited, was because of lower back pain. Not only did his adjustments significantly help my lower back, it helped my well being in general. Hes very good at explaining what hes doing and how its benefiting you. I didnt know half the things about the body prior to going to Nelson. On top of that, him and his staff are very friendly. I continue to go for these reasons. I recommend Dr. Nelson to anyone needing chiropractic care!

Ive been to several chiropractors over the years, and Ive stuck with Dr. Nelson for over 4 years for a reason. Hes knowledgeable, friendly, effective, and he manages his schedule efficiently, which means rarely waiting past your appointment time, and his staff is always friendly and helpful. I schedule visits bi-weekly, but anytime something has happened and I need to get in ASAP, Ive been able to get in with short notice as well. I highly recommend Dr. Nelson!

I took my infant son to Colby when he was having issues spitting up and I have been going regularly for a few months for neck and back pain. Colby is great, always running on schedule, personable and communicates well. Most importantly he is effective. Will take a look at the problems and what is causing them and then put together a personal plan for you. I have gone to quite a few chiropractors over the years and Colby has everything that you would want.

I also learned a lot of other information that I did not know that getting adjustments would help! I plan to take my baby girl there as well. Love Dr. Colby. I had ongoing pain in my hips which led me to believe I may need to have hip replacement as Im getting older. But with Dr. Nelsons help, I no longer have hip pain. I see him regularly and feel great; even sleep much better after an appointment!! I would recommend him to everyone!
