Treated like a drug addict whenever I have to go to the ER. Treated like a drug addict while recovering after general surgery. I dont take any type of medicine or aspirin, ever! Last time in the ER from flipping zero turn mover on me, I was told "you must do some kind of drugs the way you talk", the way I talk?!? I told them to stop treating me/others like druggies! Walked out bleeding from surgery wounds twice because of the foul, hurtful treatment. Filed complaint with VA advocate, when I followed up, the report was not in the system. Wanted to stay and get treated, was sent home (first experience with Lex VA) didnt make it ended up in ER in another city where I was in intensive care for some time then the VA would not pay the bill. Sure there are good folks there, but there must be some oppressive wicked management running the place for it to be this messed up. I wish I didnt feel the need to complain, but.. there are many other veterans worse off than I and they need better "care". I served my country and am honored that I was allowed.

Everything is good with the profesionals nurse but one in special the name Melanie i font know if she is nurse last thursday my husband was ovethere in floor #5 room 513 and that person Melanie only come and come everyminute and this dissturbing i think this is not profesional nurse maybe somebody can call her attention for disturbing the patients i demand she explain what happen why no respect if i was here with my husband she look more sex service than nurse with my husband only. Other thing the nurse names is only Maria and Renee in this room not Melannie. I wait you fixing that disorder all this happen march 30 if no want bad reputetion at the hospital watch the safety camara this person Melannie when me go out for one hour she is again with my husban why? Is permit in the hospital the workers are lovers

It is so sad that when you call for a nurse , that they put you on hold and not answer for an hour, and still dont get through, I called and needed to speak to a nurse cause my brother, was bleeding from his head and had been nite before also but it stopped, and he would not go to ER first cause they want pay for it if he did he said like before, They go and serve our country but get put on the back burner all the time....this is not right at all, in my opinion when someone needs help they need to go to ER not stay on phone because if they do go, they dont get help with the bill for the ER....WWHOOOOOOO came up with this?...........and you say you care for our veterans.......yea sure you do..... this is not right at all.... something needs to be done about this.

For the most part the health care professionals are very good. And I guess thats what matters the most. But if you get travel pay for your UK appointment or other appointment outside the VA and have to turn it into the finance dept. they could care less if you get it or not. They will give you the run around about it until the 30 day limit is up and then its to late to get it. Very unprofessional about helping you with it when its clearly their fault for losing it.

I wish I didnt have to give this VA hospital one star, needs to be closed down.So much neglect & abuse.I nearly died in their care,had to go to outside facility to stay alive,they falsify documents to make themselfs look good & will try & make the veteran look bad,they care very little for a veteran. Matter of fact you are treated like lying trash.if you need VA you are better off sticking a gun in your mouth.

When it comes to all the horror Stories about VAs Ive never experienced that with any of the ones Ive been too. Especially not here in Lexington. I know everyone has their opinions. As for me the staff has always been super helpful and knowledgeable. appointment times are reasonable. Service is awesome. Hope everyone can keep an open mind and receive the care they require.

I recently was admitted for unexpected heart issue, secondarily discovered while treated for lifelong disease with dehydration. The level of professionalism, friendliness and respect of everyone involved in my care was top-shelf. The focus involved alongside attention to detail was paramount. Im proud to be a veteran in their care.

Employee(SPS Dept.), Leaving this job due to being made hostile and racist remarks to. Being forced to change shifts for no reason. Poor management and working conditions. Acting chief abusing their authority to punish people. I love my job and what I do. Enjoy helping vets. Too much BS to deal with.

The VA Hospitals often get a bad rap. I have always received professional service from a caring staff. I would like to send a thank you to the VA Hospital, Lexington, KY (neurology). They made my mini vacation bearable, even when I felt like chewing rocks, lol!

Takes forever to get an appointment. Cant ever call the doctor and have them call you back in a timely manner. Once you are being seen, its fairly quick and everyone is courteous, but takes forever to get in.
