I am an expecting mother with only a few weeks left until my due date. In my best effort to do what is right for my baby I have chosen to breastfeed. My healthcare insurance company will cover a breast pump as long as it is purchased by an in-network provider. Apria was on the list of covered businesses. I called Apria gave them all my information and faxed them a prescription from my physician for a breast pump. After 3 weeks of not hearing anything back I decided to call and check the status. Unfortunately the customer service representative lacked the most important skill of her job which is friendly customer service. She was very rude the entire time and after repeating all of the information I already sent to them, she tells me my insurance had not been verified and someone would call me back. I asked if she knew how long that would take, because as an expecting mother I want everything to be ready for when my baby arrives. She said "I have no idea". I told her it had already been 3 weeks and after a frustrating 20 minute call with her I had received no additional information then where I was 3 weeks ago, and to cancel my order. She said ok and hung up! Wow way to go Apria! I will never recommend this company due to their lack of customer service.

I would rate their service, care for patients, attitudes and total systemic lack of care and concern if possible, lower, but one star is the only option. I have been using Apria (formerly Praxair) for many years and the only changes Ive noted was a deepening of what seems to be a corporate disregard for their patients over greed for profit. Further, their motto seems to be : "Our way or take a hike!" Ive tried feedback, email and phone calls and have been met with their company answer for problems - disregard by ignoring my feed back and requests for assistance, or hang-up if on the phone. My last episode was with a Louisville based Respiratory Therapist named Angela Alvey who, after two phone calls to her cell phone, she refused my calls AND messages. Total lack of response. I am totally reliant on my CPAP for sleep but she, and those who followed her, could care less. Their answer is call the 1-800 number which puts you at step one from which you must begin all over again with a new rep who also has the corporate apathy personality down pat. if I knew of another place tod do business Id happily take my business to them. Its hard to believe theyre able to stay in business.

They do not have negative rating, so Ill have to go with a 1. I have been on hold so many times from 20 to 30 minutes, so their message the "we know your time is important and assistance is just a moment away" really means nothing. I had a prescription change sent to them on May 8 for my PAP device, after three weeks waiting for a response I tried to call them to find out that they had received the change request from my Dr but they were very busy and would back to me soon, well almost 3 months later, still no contact from them. Today, 7-28-14, made another call to Apria from a letter I received and was on hold again fro 28 minutes, a very nice person, Tina answered, and she made contact with a couple of people trying to resolve my issues, now Im going to wait and see what happens this time, Im hopping for the best????

The worst I have ever done business with, then these bastards send me automated phone calls 400 in the morning to ask you questions about your bipap use to market you parts. Then they put you on hold 45 minutes until you give up. I ordered new bipap and new double mask mask was wrong size then they charged me double for their mistake. Do business with them but audit EVerything!?!! They lie and will rip you off if you are not vigilant

I have read all the negative reviews posted here and just wanted to post my positive experience with Apria. My Mother has been with Apria for several years with her oxygen and respirator supplies. I have always had great experience with their customer service for anything she needs. They are always very prompt and courteous on the phone and the delivery personnel are very knowledgeable with the equipment they bring.
