Terrible experience with Delta Dental. When I enrolled I was told that all oral surgeries were covered under the individual PPO plan. I told the customer service rep that I had to get my wisdom teeth out and she said it would be covered with no waiting period because it fell under the basic category. Needless to say everything came back denied on the claim and the reason was "oral surgery are not covered services of the dental plan" and "... is not a benefit under the dental plan." The lady who signed me up never disclosed any information that certain extractions are covered and some are not. In fact VERY FEW extractions are covered even though they tell you oral surgery is covered 50%. Even anesthesia came back denied. I did some digging and finally found every benefit that was included in the plan. None of this is in the initial sign up packet with the PPO plans information. Very misleading company.

Heaven forbid you have anything unusual that you need to deal with, like a bill from a foreign country where they use a different tooth count that needs to be adjusted to the American count. My covered dependent had a dental emergency abroad back in March. Its now been two months since I submitted the paperwork, and Im still waiting to get this claim processed. Ive had multiple emails and phone calls to them. Its been with the Claims Manager since 3/29/16, and its now 5/23/16. There was apparently a note in the file to contact me on 5/4 for more information, but nobody did. They were calling other providers, etc. to try to find the conversion chart from European to American tooth chart. It took me 5 minutes on Google to accomplish something they couldnt get done in 2 months. Im waiting to see how all of this is resolved. So far, Im not a happy consumer.

My Job is to get benefits for my patients before they come in, with that said i get benefits all day from different insurance companies. The customer service here is disgusting. They are the most unpleasant, disrespectful, and beyond unprofessional. This is not the first time i have an issue with them along with my co-worker and weve had to speak to Peggy once and i just had to leave her a message again she is apparently the supervisor . Two of the reps i spoke to were name Shawn and Sharese and they refused but i mean refused to give me freq on D4346. Its sad that i have to most likely deal with KY Dental Dental again because i have never had this issue with any other Delta Dental State other then KY.

Terrible customer service. First the automated system is not efficient and does not understand any of the words she asks you to repeat. When I actually got through to a representative the following day, she was not interested in helping since I was a new customer through Kynect and was not yet in their system, so she advised me she would transfer me to Indianapolis in which I waited on hold for over 30 minutes before hanging up. They should have an option where you leave a message as oppose to directing you to a website that prompts you for your information, but if you are a new subscriber it says you cannot be found and therefore cannot log in to ask any questions.

It has been the worst experience ever. Daisy--their automated system is awful. First I am told that it does not recognize voice, then it does recognize voice. The customer service representative, Robert that I have spoken to on 1/28/2018 between 9 AM and 9:30 AM was rude and hang up on me. I was explaining that this patient is paying for these benefits and they are making them unusable. All about the profit and no customer service at all. No wonder many many dentists are not participating in PPOs, especially with Delta Dental, who should tell you what they pay in and out of network--but no, they decide to bully dentists.

This is the WORST customer service in over 25 years of being in dentistry!! Is it really that hard to hire people that are nice?? Two days in a row, I have spoken to 2 of the rudest customer service representatives I have ever spoken to. Thank goodness that we only have 1 patient with Delta Dental of Kentucky. Sad from Georgia for the poor employees of Papa Johns pizza. They should try a different carrier or switch to a Delta Dental of another state that is actually friendly. The 1 star is actually being extremely generous!

Spoke with a very rude customer service agent, Katrina. Maybe the insurance benefits are good, but I would never want to have an insurance that was rude to dental providers. Worst of all of the Dental Dental plans I have ever dealt with.

My family has been with Delta Dental of Kentucky for years and I just called customer service and spoke with a wonderful customer service rep who was very helpful.
