Another Review
Between the two Gaddie Eye Center locations you would think at least one of them could get it right, nope! I went into the Springhurst location for my yearly eye exam with the intentions of ordering new frames and lenses. I also took a friend along who was due for an exam and some new glasses as well. It was her first visit, therefore this review will touch on both sides, an existing patient and a new patient. When we arrived there was one person at the check in desk, he had no interest in greeting us. I approached him and said that we both have appointments, he looked at me as I was in the wrong place. Eventually a female came up and asked us our names and handed us paperwork to complete. As we were completing the paperwork we came to the section that mentioned dilation, there were two options, one being standard dilation and the other being optomap which was a $40 fee. I approached the lady at the counter and asked her if we had to do that considering we had both received dilation within the past year, she stated that we had to choose one or we would not be serviced. I explained to her that I could not do the standard dilation due to a reaction I once had and that I had just paid $40 within the year to get it and I was told at that time that it was only necessary once every two years, she said I still had to do one or the other (which I later found out was incorrect). My friend also questioned it as she had a prescription with her from another vision location, they told her the same. She informed them that she did not want either as she was driving therefore it would not be safe to drive after standard dilation and she did not want to pay $40 for the optomap. They told her she had to select one, obviously the safe option of paying $40 over played the standard option. I am finally asked to come back for my exam by Ryan, once we got into the first exam room all I could focus on was the over powering stinch of cigarette smoke. Yes, he reeeked of cigs despite the fact that he was working directly with patients, very much up close and personal. I held my breath the entire time, which made it hard to focus on my actual eye exam. He obviously did not know the meaning of mouth wash or hand soap. Eventually I finish with the exam and start to view the terrible selection of frames, which were all over priced. Once my friend finished up we agreed that the service there was terrible, the lack of communication and patient involvement was the most present thing as well as Ryans scent of cigarettes, therefore we left without purchasing anything other than the ridiculous $80 optomap. I had much time to allow that experience to set in, which lead to a call to the Manager, Vicky. Needless to say, after leaving multiple voicemails with her staff, the only option I had as Vicky does not have voicemail. Yep, thats right, its 2017 and no voice mail. I continued to call until I reached her, however no resolution was provided. I was not satisfied, therefore I contacted their office "administrator", whatever that is....Rachel, well it just gets worse. She was oblivious to proper patient care, quality of patient care, the appropriate method of handling any type of matter, and well, pretty much anything else. My take of Rachel, she seemed to enjoy hearing herself speak, meanwhile Vicky is violating HIPPA in a major way, anyone working in healthcare should know what HIPPA is Vicky.... In the most simple way said, do not go to Gaddie Eye Center, either location. Go to Vision First, Louisville Eye Center, I mean, if Dr. Bizers is still within existence they are better than this place.

Do not go here..you Will waste your patience and your money..had issues with them 2 years in a row..the first time they messed up my claim and insurance never covered my benefit because they are too lazy to do anything there so I ended up having to pay 300$ out of pocket when my insurance should have paid 200$ never got that money back, had run around from their billing dept, in the end the girl was fired and I never got my money back. This year went back in with new insurance (should have known better) same thing, they didnt want to call my insurance to find out where to fax my claim, the technition kept lying about how she called and they didnt want to tell her what to do, I actually called my insurance they were nice as can be and told me where they need to file, I called them giving them that info they still refused to do it saying "we did everything we could". I told her that she cannot refuse to file my claim just because she is too lazy to do it and had my insurance call them directly, they tried lying how the insurance never called when I was on the conference call when they did..this place is unbelievable, they are lazy, and they lie to your face..again I had to pay 300$ out of pocket because they were too lazy to call and find out where to file my claim! Forget going above and beyond they will not even do what they are there to Do which is file your claim! My contacts were ordered and I was told Id have to wait a week they finally came in 4 weeks later after I had to call 3 times, bc you know, I needed to put new contacts in...there are offices that actually do what they are supposed to I can assure you I will tell everyone about this experience and will not be coming back ever again thats for sure.

Ive been going to Dr. Gaddies since 2010. My first visit was at the office On Brownsboro- which was less than ideal. Dr. Gaddie (the older man) was a little rough through my exam and I caught him peeking down my shirt a few times. Its whatever though. Ive recently been going to the office on Dixie, and Reception is very nice, the doctor himself was very pleasant and knowledgeable, my BIGGEST beef was the EXTREME price markups on contacts! Holy cats! even WITH my (super awesome) insurance, my contacts were almost $200 and my fitting was $80! And they didnt fix my astigmatism. I asked around and several of my friends (with the same insurance) told me their contacts that corrects their astigmatism and were day and nigh wears never cost them over $120.

I have been going to Gaddie Eye Center since we have lived here in Louisville about 11 yrs. My experience with Dr. Ben Gaddie and Dr. Clark has been nothing but excellent. I have severe dry eye and a lot of trouble with them. They have been doing everything possible to help me. Their office personal and staff are most polite and helpful. You know sometimes it just cant be helped when it takes longer than planned for an appointment. We need to be patient and if it does cause you a problem let them know they will be glad to help you or reschedule. What if you are the person that they are trying to help do you want them to hurry up? Anyway I think the Gaddie Eye Centers does a good job.

THE STAFF IS NICE BUT THE DOCTOR HAS A VERY NASTY AND COLD DEMEANOR. THEY ALSO DO NOT KNOW HOW TO USE INSURANCE PROPERLY. I PAID FOR MY CONTACTS, GET A CALL TELLING ME TO COME AND PICK THEM UP. GET OUT THEIR AND THEY SAY, MY INSURANCE ONLY COVERS GLASSES OR CONTACTS AND NOT BOTH. INSTEAD OF TELLING ME OVER THE PHONE AND THEN ASK ME FOR $158.00. I TOLD HER I HAD ALREADY PAID AND TO GIVE ME A REFUND. THEN, TWO DAYS LATER I GET A BILL FOR $180.00 WHICH IS SUPPOSE TO BE COVERED BY MY INSURANCE. PLEASE DO NOT GO!! CHECK OUT ANOTHER LOCATION!! THIS DOCTOR IS NOT FRIENDLY!! YOUR MONEY CAN SPEND ANYWHERE!!1
