I thought Id try to save others with extreme dental pain MORE agony if I can. I had a very painful tooth, the second to last molar on my right side. It was in so much pain that I decided I better go somewhere and see if I needed a root canal. My normal dentist was closed, since it was a Saturday, and so I called Urgent Dental Care on Hurstbourne Lane. They assured me that they were a "one stop dental", providing everything I would need, no matter what. When I got there, I filled out the paperwork and was taken back to see a very young blonde female dentist. I was already skeptical that she could know so much as such a young age. But, I started to tell her my problems and asked if it was a root canal issue. She looked at the tooth and said she couldnt see any cracks. So, she said that she would recommend a root canal and crown. I said no problem if it would fix the pain. She stuttered and said, well most likely. After making sure they had their money upfront, this is when the nightmare began. Close to four hours later, I sat in her chair, while she took xrays after xrays to see what was going on. She kept saying, "Ive never seen that before". Then she stopped to inform me that the root canal file broke off but most likely wont cause any problems. IF it did, I would then have to go see an endodontist. Wonderful! The procedure continued with so much pain that I could barely stand it. She asked if we could stop, but i insisted that I wanted to get it done. After more and more xrays (close to 15 total for the day), she filled the tooth. The tooth was now so sensitive that I couldnt even touch it. I asked her how it could be in SO much pain if the root had been destroyed?? she said, "well it must be the tooth next to it..". The tooth next to it hasnt hurt since IT had a root canal. She went on to say that she could pull the tooth at no extra charge. I told her NO, I would go elsewhere. She handed me a script for LorTabs and Clindamycin (not an antibiotic many use because of its dangerous black box warnings), and let me leave, staggering out the door with tears in my eyes from the pain. I sat outside of their big window on the step 15 minutes til my wife came back with the meds. They never once bothered to see if they could help me. I have been in the medical field for almost 15 years and have NEVER seen such incompetence. This is the worse dentist program I have ever seen. No wonder they couldnt make it in private practice, or maybe she is running from her previous patients. But I would NEVER EVER recommend anyone to go there!

I have been to Urgent Dental care 3 times and never had an issue until my last recent visit. I went to go have a cavitie filled. The dental hygienist was somewhat rough during the procedure. At the end, the doctor (Dr. Tinsley) came in and approved her work. Ηe assured me that my teeth were back to normal. I began noticing that it became extremely difficult to chew on the side where the cavitie was filled. Two months later I go and visit another dentist only to find out that the dental hygienist had not smoothed the filling for my cavitie enough which made a pocket around the tooth causing bacteria and decay. Due to this, it causes inflammation and sensitivity to chew. I was very upset because money that I spent at Urgent Dental was wasted and I had to pay another dentist for another persons mistake. You may be thinking why didnt I ever go back to Urgent Dental and have them fix the problem? I moved states two weeks after I had this procedure done. I figured for the convenience, Urgent Dental was my best option. Instead my visit was rushed and I felt like I was robbed as a patient. The dentist obviously didnt check closely to catch the hygienist mistake, so I blame both. Before this visit I had pleasant experiences but the last one put a bitter taste in my mouth. . . Especially when youre paying out of pocket and your issue still was not fixed. My advice is to do your research and research the doctor!

I had been under the care of U of L School of Dentistry but a problem developed between appointments with pain and U of L couldnt get me in quickly. This was on a Friday night. Couldnt find a dentist in my area that had Sat hours and one of the dentists I called suggested Urgent Dental for after hours emergency. I called Urgent Dental and spoke with an informed and pleasant receptionist and decided when the pain was worse on Sat. morning to go. Nobody likes to go to the dentist but I was more than a little apprehensive. But my experience was excellent. Liked the receptionist, liked the dental assistant and Dr. Tinsley. He was gentle and informative. He gave me meds to alleviate the pain and told me about my options. No pressure. I liked him very much. I think I am going back tdy and ask him to remove the tooth. Even though he is not in my area he may be my new dentist! The chair I was in even vibrated!

Highly recommended. I showed up in a lot of pain from an abcess tooth the day before Thanksgiving. I waited for around an hour, but I did not think this was long since 2 people came out from the back, and my regular dentist wasnt even in the office that day. They sent me off with anitbiotics to kill the infection and I returned a week later (without an appointment) to have them pull the tooth. The doctor numbed me completely and managed to get the broken-off tooth out in 1 piece, and I was there a total of less than an hour for that visit. I never got any of the "hard sell" or pressure to buy high dollar implants or other expensive procedures, they just told me what the options were for the rest of my teeth. I do fortunately have insurance and so far the office visit/extraction has not cost me anything. The people in the office were very nice, and again I would definitely recommend the office to anyone.

Had a chipped tooth, was late night and the only place open . Waited for over an hour to be seeing.. Then almost another hour sitting at the dentist chair while they walk around me asking me to be patient.. Meanwhile the lady next to me was screaming.. Not a good sign.. Finally some tech that smelled like she just bathed in some god awful body spray start messing with my tooth. Then came the dentist.. They did God knows what and send me home , told me it looked perfect. By the time I got home was broken already.. Came back next day and the officer manager refused to talk to me or offer any solution .. Told me I needed to wait to see if someone could look in to it.. Very rude, even made fun of my accent by asking me to repeat myself the whole time. Lost $300. What a scam.
