People like to complain - not so keen on compliment. Its a shame that people are really eager to write a negative review when service has been off - but not so much when service has been good because reading these reviews might put you off of a fantastic vet. We have a HERD of pets. Lots of them and each of them have their own bizarre personality and weve had more than our fair share of tough requests and needs for our furry kids. Dr Blust and his staff are stellar - theyre quick to accommodate and eager to make sure our pets are happy and healthy. The staff at Gause Blvd Vet are actually ANIMAL LOVERS - you can tell by their interactions and the time they spend with your pets. The front desk staff is knowledgeable and when theyre not sure of something, theyre quick to research and get back to you. ALWAYS friendly and understanding I actually dont mind calling in and asking for help. The nursing and support staff is compassionate, professional and FAST. This is a well oiled team and they know exactly what theyre doing. Unfortunately, I can only speak about Dr Blust, but weve found him not only competent but very good with all the varieties of our animals. He was even quick and honest with a referral to another vet (not affiliated with this clinic) when a situation arose that he felt was beyond his personal experience. It says a lot about a doctor when theyre able to set aside their own ego and say "Go see this other guy, hes specializes in this". Honesty is as important as skill and this guy has both. Do not hesitate to do business with this team - theres a reason theyve got the largest patient base in the area, theyre the best.

I have no doubt that Sir Pumpkin received excellent and loving care here. The vet called me several times while I was away and I appreciated the good communication. And the hours are very convenient. That being said, I almost fell over when I saw the bill which was almost twice as much as I expected it to be. Upon arrival, the assistant who took Sir Pumpkin from me expressed concern about his ears which showed some dark colored buildup. I have seen it before, and was not worried about it. I just thought they were dirty. But she asked me if I wanted the doctor to take a look at them, so I agreed. The next day I received a call from the vet who said the substance was just dirt and wax buildup that had been taken care of, but that he now had diarrhea. I agreed to him treating Sir Pumpkin for that, although I was pretty sure it was not a big deal. When I went to pick up my pet 10 days later, I was presented with a bill for over $322!! This included $42 for an office visit, $15 for the ear cleaning, $20 for ointment and $88 for administering medication in addition to the boarding costs!! The care was thorough and loving, but the bill was ludicrous with (now) obvious attempts to add every possible service and dollar to the total amount due. For this reason, I do not recommend this animal hospital and will not return.

Avoid this vet at all cost, even if you have to take care of your animals yourself. Believe me, your pet is better off that way!!! You dont have to be a staff member to know what happens behind closed doors, whether it may be physically abusing animals, misdiagnosing conditions, overcharging (or should I say embezzlement), neglect, disrespecting customers, ignoring injuries, medicating healthy animals, vaccinating already vaccinated animals, not complying with filling/faxing perscriptions, etc. Not only is he one of the rudest person Ive ever dealt with, his staff is just as unpleasant. His receptionists have no people skills what so ever and have the attitudes of teenagers. The only thing he truely and genuinely cares about is his income. And I will speak on the behalf of exstaff workers, they left for a reason. One can only take so much harassment, whether it be sexually or verbally. There are many other veterinary clinics that trustworthy and reputable. Dont be fooled!

I cannot agree with the reviews about "worst vet in the area" or "other veterinary clinics that are trustworthy and reputable". I have all of my animals with this group for the last 9 years and I am quite pleased. I have had 3 emergencies with different animals and have been sincerely grateful that Dr. Blust and Dr. Milazo have provided excellent care to both the animals and our families. When we have had to put down an animal they have been extremely patient, kind and sweet. I love the staff, Tiffany is like family and all the techs take wonderful care of our animals. The vets and the staff know that these animals are our babies and treat them and us accordingly. They respect our opinions and aid us in making decisions that can be very hard. Another good thing about this vet is their hours. It is very convenient that they are open 7 days a week. They have never refused to see one of my babies the same day. Give them a try with an open mind, you will love them as we do.

Very unimpressed with this place. We took in an injured displaced animal from the flooding situation and she needed immediate attention. Brought her here on a Sunday, which costs $60 just to walk in the door if you arent a current client. After explaining the situation and that she was a refugee, they had zero compassion. Treated her like she was another paycheck. We couldnt pick her up until nearly two hours after they said she would be ready. They also charged us $25 to shave the areas around her wounds. The total bill was over $200. We took her to a different vet for her follow up appointment and were treated MUCH better, and the other vet didnt charge us a penny and even gave us free heart worm meds and ran several tests to make sure nothing else was wrong since her history is unknown. All at no cost because of the situation!! The staff at Gause seems to be in the vet field only to overcharge and collect a paycheck.

I brought my 2 kittens here to get their shots and later to be spayed. Unnecessarily very expensive. I have been a pet owner for years and am familiar with how these things go. I dont expect it to be cheap by any means but every time I received my bill there were all these extras. De-worming for indoor kittens that had already been de-wormed and did not show signs of worms. $350 when I brought them to be spayed and they didnt get spayed b/c one had a slightly elevated WBC count. One of my at the tim 4 lb kittens also apparently bit a tech. She is anxious but not generally aggressive. I wonder about how they were handled. Then they wanted me to come back the next week and pay them the same again to be spayed. I wont be returning and do not recommend. I write this review because theyve emailed me asking for a review.

We just had our first visit with a new litter of Boxer puppies. The staff was courteous and very attentive, they got us back after only a few minutes of waiting and the vet was very gentle with our babies. Great experience and we will definitely be going back. UPDATE - Weve had 3 visits now and excellent service every single time!! The vets and the staff are amazing, they always get us in in a timely manner and are very thorough. Super caring and they ALWAYS call me the next day to see how our babies are doing. I am so beyond happy with our choice of vet!!
