Staff is friendly had been a customer since the late 90s. Location is great if you just need shots and to get and animal fixed not to mention they are no longer on call for emergencys. More serious issues I lost all confidence, kept going in getting pills or shots that didnt work, never trying to figure out the cause. For 5 months my boy was very sick, I felt ignored making 2x or more a month visits for 5 months with a very sick dog. Scheduled and appointment for x-ray was told x-ray would show nothing. Two weeks later finally got an x-ray it showed something and went for a very expensive surgery. Was told it was cancer, but I opted to send for biopsy. Biopsy came back IBD. Went steroid treatment after 6 months was told will continue low dose steroids for the rest of his life, also recommended prescription food and I tried and he couldnt digest even pureed and liquefied . Never offered food allergy testing ect.. Steriods are bad new cause tons of other problems and have very bad side effects. IBD a result from food allergies. I found out later from my new vets who offered blood testing for allergies as saliva tests are not accurate, knowledge and home cooked balance recipe aid.

Bonafied Training

Hearsay cannot always be trusted. I had listened to folks say that RR provided great care, but was more costly than some other clinics. NOT TRUE!!! My Bestie needed cruciate ligament surgery and I shopped around, exhaustively. RR was the least expensive and actually offered more care than the others I checked. I was also provided a tiered estimate of procedures that were elective. It resembled a menu with ala carte items! I knew exactly how much every single thing would cost. They followed up after surgery to be sure my boy was ok and if I had any questions. Their technicians and vets are progressive and knowledgeable, They have "old country vet" values and heartfelt concern for their clients, served with modern medicine practices. When it was time for my sons little girl to cross the Rainbow Bridge, they were amazing. If only one suggestion: Provide a less clinical room used solely for euthanization. Please?

I have been using River Ridge for over 10 years and have never had any problems or issues. I have taken my dogs, cats and even my guinea pig to this clinic. All the girls at the desk are very friendly and helpful! My favorite vet is Dr Phil, he helped save my little Ellies life 8 years ago, with his help I had 3 more years to love her! All the Drs here are very good, very kind and gentle with my pets. I have heard people say it is expensive to come here , but I feel you get what you pay for ,and when it comes to my pets, who are a part of my family, I will pay a little more if I have to in order to get quality care for them.

I have used River Ridge for over 20 years. When I had to put down my 15 year old Chihuahua, Dr Sarah handled it professionally and with such a caring, loving presence. Dr Phil did the same when my cherished Golden Retreiver got cancer and had to be put down. Thanks to River Ridge they had lived long, healthy, lives. When I call and need an appointment they do their best to get us right in. We wait a very short time for our appointment and when we do see Dr. Phil, he takes the time to answer our questions and address our concerns. I have been very happy with the professional, caring attitudes of all the staff.

The staff at River Ridge is outstanding. The vets and staff are always attentive to our concerns, gentle with our pets and provide excellent, knowledgeable care. The boarding staff goes above and beyond. For years when we went out of town we boarded two dogs together, one was not only difficult but required a special diet and medicine, and the staff took the extra time and effort to ensure both dogs got the individual care they needed. More than once they have saved us when we needed to go out of town for unexpected medical emergencies. Thanks River Ridge!

My experience with River Ridge was very professional and courteous along the sincere caring toward each of my pets. Very willing to help with situations I encured with my relocation to Dixon. The staff generally share their willingness to help with even providing alternative ways of paying for my boarding of my cats; which I truly appreciated it. They also helped with our oldest cat to a place of peace. Again.... Alot of TLC! I have and will continue to recommend River Ridge Animal Hospital for all caring needs for your pets. River Ridge Animal Hospital has been our veterinary care facility ever since we had our first dog, Sydney. The doctors and staff and very caring and provide excellent service. Their pet boarding services and doggy daycare are top notch. The staff is very friendly and really enjoy looking after the pets. They also ensure that your pet remains happy, healthy and safe during their stay. I would highly recommend River Ridge to anyone looking for veterinary or dog care services--they are excellent!!

We have been going to see the vets since 1975 when the practice was in Sterling on route 2 beside the state police station. Our animals all enjoy going to see everyone and visit. Everyone makes a big deal over each one of them.. We rescue dogs and have had the privilege of having many into our home. The many people that work at River Ridge should be commended for their care of animals. You couldnt ask or receive better care.

Awfulness we had an appointment thay lost it we have a 85 lbs rot pit puppy who is a lil to exitabel and thay had us in the waiting room for a half hour with him wineing and barking because nun of the othet dog owners wanted there dog around owr pit meanwile othere dogs are going right into rooms wile thay see owrs making a seen the most poorly run vet I have seen other. Experience were not like this Im looking for a new vet

All of our experiences with River Ridge have been professional and they take the time and effort to explain everything in whatever detail is necessary. We travel to 3 different states during the year and therefore have gone to different vets and if there is an issue with our dogs that can be "saved" until we get here, we do that. I would recommend River Ridge to anyone with no reservation.

River Ridge Animal Hospital is staffed by knowledgeable, compassionate people. I have been bringing my furry family to RRAH for more than half a decade. They offer emergency visits, standard office hours, grooming, boarding, among other services as well as a variety of pet food and accessories. They even offered to make a keepsake paw print of my dog when she passed on.

I have been a customer of these people since they were known as Collins & Densmore in Dixon . That is at least 30 years. They have doctored al of my dogs since then. They always have went above and beyound what was expected of them. Dr.Bill has cared for my last four dogs and has given them the best possible care anyone could ask for.
