Justin Pentifallo, I had the same experience. Dr. Zaft is a very nice doctor. The staff is horrible. I paid my bill 90 days late. It was because they insisted I pay the copay. We have a flex spending account so we dont pay copay until we hit our deductible, which had not happened yet. The staff was nasty with me and insisted I pay it. Well, it led to problems with what we owed when it got to the insurance company. It took about 8 weeks to clear it up, and I then called to pay the bill. Its a different group that does the billing, and they warned me that I may be "fired" as a patient for being late. Fast forward 4 YEARS when I decided I needed to see my PCP on a yearly basis instead of just when Im sick. I called to set up the appointment and the staff rudely told me I was fired for an outstanding bill. I told them I payed it, and the woman agreed that I did, but because it was 60-90 days after the appointment (which was 4 years ago) she told me "you can find someone else to be your doctor." Those were exact words. I will never deal with this staff again. They are nasty.

I had an outstanding balance of 25 dollars I was unaware of, and attempted to make an appointment, the lady at the office told me absolutely not until I pay the balance, which I was happy to pay, but she refused to accept payment and instead told me it was out of her hands, offering no information whatsoever on who to actually pay....Same thing happened to a friend of mine with a balance of 175 dollars, and not only did they once again refuse payment, but stated he needed to write a formal letter of apology for his derelict payment, and ONLY then would they decide IF they would accept him as a patient again...Rather poor way to do do business in my opinion as they have just lost two patients for a combined 200 dollar payment, which was the copay anyways so they already were paid roughly 80 percent of the cost of those visits through insurance.

As a local Psychologist I have referred to this practice many times. The providers are outstanding clinicians who care about their patients. Everyone who has gone there has been very happy.
