BEST VETERINARIAN EVER!!! 5 stars is NOT ENOUGH!!! I took my dalmation to Waugh Chapel after our former vet ignored my multiple pleas for further blood tests and x-rays to determine the cause of his UTIs and his widening chest cavity. Dr. Anderson and the staff at Waugh Chapel immediately addressed my concerns, with both blood tests and x-rays, and my worst fears were confirmed by their immediate discovery of bilateral kidney cancer and an abdominal mass the size of a grapefruit. Dr. Anderson spent nearly an hour with us, explaining everything in detail, our treatment options, the prognosis, and what we could do for him to make him comfortable for his remaining time with us. Due to the nearly criminal negligence of our previous vet and the voracious nature of the cancer, he was in mid-stage cancer and past the point of surgery. With Dr. Anderson and the staffs support, we made the decision to keep him as comfortable as we could for as long as we could. Despite our collective effort, in only six weeks past, he began to deteriorate, and we made the the hardest decision any of us had ever made, we loved him and didnt want him to be in pain anymore, so we let him go. The staff at Waugh Chapel did everything they could to help, in those six weeks, I was on the phone with Dr. Anderson or a member of the staff sometimes more than five times in a day, several times came in multiple times a day to get new medications and fluids, and each time they were helpful and supportive. They fit us in at the end of the day several times when there were no available appointments, and twice a member of the office staff stayed after hours (as much as an hour after they closed on a weekend) just so I could pick up medication for him. They called to check in on us on the good days, and even gave me a 24 hour emergency number to reach help just in case. When we brought him in on his final day, they did everything they could to lessen our pain and help us face our loss, giving us as much time as we needed, and respectfully handling his remains. They were even kind enough to call and check on us a few days after, and we shortly received a handwritten card expressing their condolences. I dont know how we could have faced his illness without their informative and helpful support. I cant recommend them enough, they were WONDERFUL! it took me several years to find a great vet, but it was well worth it. if you do make an appointment, ask for Dr. Anderson personally, all of the vets there are WONDERFUL. i have worked with horses professionally for over a decade and as a result, many vets, and i believe Dr. Anderson may be the finest veterinarian i have ever seen. if i move across the country next year for grad school, I will fly back here rather than ever take one of my pets to another vet, and i really hate flying.

What did I like about this vet? Only the fact it was close to are home. In the less then two years going there (about 4 visits) my dog needed x-rays everytime. The bed side manor is tolerable not great or bad but nothing is explained very well. Last time there are dog had crystals. We where told to collect a urine sample. We did and dropped it off. We never knew what the prognosis was until we followed up asking what next and will she be ok! It also seams from other reviews people realize they need a small loan to take there pet here. Are average bill is 400 dollars. Must be for all those must needed x-rays. Also I thought I was at a car dealer they tried to up sell us on more unnecessary shots. This dog was my wifes prior to us getting married. She lived in Northern Virginia and took her dog to a doc in Burke Virginia. After not being pleased with any of there professionalism or cost we drove to Virginia to get answers. It was amazing this vet told us what was going on (her records where transfered back). There where things we where not aware of. While we went elsewhere we also had a rabies boster shoot. Oh the check up and shot was only about 120 oh and no x-rays. There are better vets then this place hands down. I dont recommend this place to anyone. Oh I almost forgot to mention the lack luster unprofessional front office staff. If waiting a minimum of half an hour isnt enough you are more then likely to find a receptionist on the phone with there personal issues. Dont worry the vets walk out and say nothing so you can look forward to this happening.

This clinic is the best ! I travel from Howard County exclusively to be seen by the practitioners here who are knowledgeable caring and supportive. I have Akitas and my last dog was horribly misdiagnosed by a "brand named" clinic resulting in unnecessary medical procedures and costs allowing a treatable condition to exacerbate to a terminal condition. My trainer suggested that i take my dog Simeon to this facility and am I forever grateful. I was greeted by Dr Andersons warm and friendly manner . His patience and concern for my dog mirrored my own. He immediately spotted the misdiagnosed condition, ran confirmatory tests and provided caring and expert advice in an attempt to stave off his demise. Unfortunately the condition had progressed too far but this clinic supported me with sincerity and caring not often found when dealing with first time patients. BE PREPARED TO WAIT for service as these doctors are in high demand for their skill competency and kindness but your pet is family so the wait is well worth it, KUDOS FOR THIS TEAM and i will always use them to care for my pets.

We are new to the area and were having problems finding a vet we were happy with. We had tried two others in the area and very unhappy. We were having some problems with our dog so we googled vets close to us and decided to try the Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital. They were able to get us in right away. We were extremely amazed at how great this Vet was. The office was gorgeous and smelled clean and fresh. I find that very important when looking for a vet. The vet asst. was such a sweet person. The Dr. we saw was very thorough in checking our dog. Weve never had a vet do such a great job. They were all so nice to our dog as well. Treated her as if she was there own. Youll not regret taking your pet here. Weve found our new vet!!

I have a 5 month old golden retriever so I am fairly new to Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital. My experience so far has been pretty awesome. Dr. Anderson is the best vet I could ask for and all the techs have been amazing. Sometimes I have had to wait up to an hour past my appointment time but once I am seen it is completely worth it. The doctors and techs take their time with us, my appointments never feel rushed, and as a first time pet owner this is very important because I had a ton of questions during my first few visits. Dr. Anderson even gave me his cell number and told me to text him should I have any questions about my puppy. It doesnt get better than that. I very highly recommend WCAH.
