We tried Gambrills Veterinary Center for our newly rescued kitten. From the moment we arrived we felt that we were bothering them. We were greeted with people at the front desk staring at us. I had to be the first one to speak to tell them we were there for an appointment. We waited 45 minutes to be seen and no animals came from the back as we were waiting so it wasnt because they were with someone else. When we were seen the vet was very unfriendly. Our kitten already had almost all of his vaccinations when we rescued him except for one. The vet looked at his ears and said they were fine, a little dirty but no ear mites. They took him into a back room for the one vaccination he need, which I found weird that they didnt do in front of us. When he was in the back we could hear him screaming like he was in pain for about 5-7 minutes, my husband was ready to go in the back himself to get him. They bought him back to us and his ears were completely down and they just said that they went ahead cleaned them for us. A few days later he sounded congested so we took him to Crofton Veterinary Center because I was not going back to Gambrills. He had a sever upper respiratory infection. He also had ear mites when Gambrills told us he didnt. The staff and doctor at Crofton were absolutely wonderful with him. They cleaned his ears in front of us and he didnt make a noise or even try to get away from the tech. We have had several follow ups with Crofton Veterinary Center due to him testing positive to ringworm and we LOVE them! The amount of time and attention they give is amazing! Dr. Anne Maxson is loving, caring and amazing.

I transferred to this vet a year ago. A year ago, they were happy to take my money and fill my prescriptions (preventative flea/tick/heartworm care). This visit, I was refused Heartgard unless I agreed to a heart worm test. I have always signed that I understand it is recommended, but declined. I have not had this rejection for over 17 years as a dog owner. Another irritation: the $50 per pet "office visit" charge. The vet felt (one cat, one dog) their sides, emphatically reminded me how they each need fecal tests annually, asked if I had concerns -- (none) -- wrote, "appears healthy" on each card and charged me $100 for the comment. Further, the vet took a sample from my dogs ears, spread it on a slide, and then sent the tech back with a $140 estimate to run a culture and do an ear flush. I had to look at the comments on the card when I got home and Googled "Otitis" to see a recommendation on ear health, as I had no communication from the vet. On one positive note: the staff and vet were friendly towards my pets, however, this business seems to care more about a dollar than keeping loyal customers. I will not be returning. PS -- my prescriptions were happily filled elsewhere.

I took my six year old Cocker Spaniel here after seeing all of the glowing reviews. We went to both the vet and a week later to the groomer. I felt the vet visit went fine aside from the very long wait and the shocking prices. I made the mistake of brushing it off and scheduling my little guy for a grooming that next week. His hair was cut shorter than I wanted, which is not a huge deal for me (I know for some Cocker owners it is) and when we got home, I noticed a few of his nails were bleeding from being cut past the quick. I called back to the vet and at the very least expected an apology, but they simply said it was normal and it would stop and he is fine. I have him resting with no pressure on his paws as best I can, and have spent my afternoon cleaning blood off of my carpet. I will never go back to this vet or the groomer due to their careless nail cutting and their inability to furnish a simple apology. I will drive the extra 20 minutes to go back to my old groomer.

This is by far the best veterinary clinic I have been to. They are always able to get you an appointment if not the same day then the following day. My dog gets skin infections quite often so we are there at least once every couple of months and every time is a wonderful experience. I believe we have met with all of the doctors at the clinic and every single one of them is highly knowledgeable and considerate. They give you all possible treatment options and allow you to make the final decision because we all know that vet bills can add up very quickly. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place because it is clean, the staff are friendly, and the doctors are problem-solvers!

I want to give a big thank you to the staff and especially Dr. Harker at Crofton Vet. As a military spouse constantly on the move, finding a good vet for our beloved pets is always important, especially since our Westie suffers from skin allergies and infections. Dr. Harker was always kind, caring, and understanding. We felt that we learned a lot about the possible causes of Willies skin condition as well as ways to help control their recurrence. We also felt that we were never sold or offered a service that was not necessary. We are going to miss CroftonVet!

I took my Bichon to Dr. Harker for years and years. She took such wonderful care of my baby, nursing her through good health then, sadly, bad. Dr. Harker is compassionate, kind, and knows her business. She is open minded, which is a quality I really admire. The staff are conistently kind, helpful and terrific. I now take my new puppy to them, and have since she was 8 weeks old. I would never go anywhere else. They are simply the very best. Not inexpensive; but nothing is these days. That aside, they will be there for you, always.

I have been going here since 1998. The vets have changed but the care has always been excellent. Everyone truly cares about my pets from front to back staff. Dr Harker and Dr Maxson are my favorites but everyone is great. They always provide follow -up calls to see how our pets are doing if there is an illness. Yesterday I was on my way to buy dog food, due to traffic I was running late and the front desk lady waited for us to get there even though it was just past closing. Professional, caring, kind and superb care!

In over two years of visits with an elderly dog and two cats, we had positive experiences with the vets and staff. This includes dental surgery for a kitty and difficult decisions in treatment and end-of-life care for the dog. Everyone was quite compassionate when the time came to put him to sleep. Dr. Harker was also helpful in emailing answers to questions about food for a new dog (later). The facility is clean and pleasant, and I would recommend Crofton Vet Clinic for quality care.

They are one of the only vets in the area that will deal with animals besides dogs and cats. Over the last 10 years or so, they have taken care of our guinea pig, rabbit, dog, and even some stray kittens our dog found (and they helped us look for homes for the kittens). I dont know how their prices compare with other vets, but I know Im not taking my pets anywhere else as long as Im in this area. Found a good thing and sticking with it.
