I saw Dr Hotchkiss once at my 6th week mark. I should have been 8 weeks along and he didnt bother to say I was measuring small. He doesnt have ultrasound machines in his office anyway so he couldnt have possibly known that day. When I did go to a different location for the ultrasound they didnt tell me anything because well he is supposed to tell me if something looks wrong. Then he wanted to see me at my 11th week mark. Before the appointment came I had a miscarriage. I called his office after going to the emergency room the previous day to see if he would see me because the doc at the emergency room recommended I see him immediately since its his specialty and hes my OB (they wanted him to recount my HCG levels for the next day). He didnt bother to see me instead he asked for the medical records from the ER. I received a call from him after hours on the same day (Friday) and he said my pregnancy was not a good pregnancy and I had a missed miscarriage. I was going through excruciating pain at the time and I really needed help. He told me to wait 2 weeks and see if I miscarry or he can offer me D&C at his office during business hours. Didnt offer to prescribe pain meds, didnt look at my records to see if I was RH- so he could give me the proper shot. I didnt want to believe I was miscarrying so I asked if I could get an ultrasound done before making a decision. He offered to have his staff call me during business hours to give me a consultation to go to a separate location to do ultrasound. He doesnt have an ultrasound machine in his office. He kept offering yet nothing he actually offered helped what I was going through. That same day I went to the ER I had gone to the prior night and got all my medical records. I went to a different emergency room (Ft Belvoir) where they did an ultrasound and confirmed fetal demise and that my HCG was not properly rising. One of the OBs came to talk to me about my options and all their risks. She offered pain medicine which I took and gave me the proper shot in case me and the baby were not RH compatible. I had a natural miscarriage at 3:15am the next morning. I received a call on Tuesday from his office to see if I still wanted to get a consult for ultrasound. I said no and thats where the call ended. I honestly was SO relieved that I didnt wait for Dr Hotchkiss and his staff. He made it seem that he personally cares about his patients but in my case it was proven wrong. I lost a child that day but it was an experience that taught me that next time I need to choose someone who at least pretends to care that I am losing something I was looking forward to. The hospital environment where everything can be done on the same day and an OB that has an ultrasound machine and can tell you what is going on as you watch is a way better option for me then this private office environment that he has. Maybe he would have helped me more if his time schedule allowed but then I was not at Walmart buying a video game. Medical issues arise any time they like. Mine came when Dr Hotchkiss and his staff were not available at all. He would be a great option if your health and pregnancy are predictable and your schedule is open. The reason why I gave the 2 stars is because they failed to sympathize with a patient, the after hours phone number for emergencies never answers their phone calls and the patients end up not receiving proper care. Also an OB that is very busy should hire an ultrasound tech and buy an ultrasound machine to make it more convenient for his patients. He needs to care more about his patients.

To the unhappy patient who wrote such a terrible review let me respond. This entire practice, the doctor, the nurse, the phlebotomist, the front desk staff, the medical assistants all put themselves out for this patient who appeared to be very distressed from the very first time she walked into this office. Every effort was made by everyone to give this patient the very best obstetrical care. The patients, as well as her unborn babys health and well being and safety was foremost in everyones mind. The patient knows why she was unhappy with her obstetrical care and she knows it had nothing to do with her medical care. As I did from the day I met this patient, I continue to wish her only well and hope that she finds internal peace. As an aside, Dr. Hotchkiss washes his hands before seeing each patient and after seeing each patient in a room other than the exam room.

He is the most terrible doctor ever. Made my pregnancy a horrible experience and dont even get me started on his staff. As to the lab lady, whenver she drew blood from me, my arms swell for days and the scheduling chicks lies about giving me a schedule date when she hasnt at all. On the after hours emergency number you can never reach the doctor or anyone and the bathroom at the practice is filthy. The staff is not professional at all anf when I decided to fire them at 37 weeks they wrote on my medical form non-compliant, so as to make it hard for me to get another doctor. Did I mention that Dr Hotchkiss never wash his hands before touching me either. Made me feel weird. I had a horrible pregnancy experience and wish I had shop more so as not to go through this stress during my pregnancy.

I am a patient of Dr.Hotchkiss and have been for about 6 years. He has delivered both of my children. Its a pleasure to be in the office with him and his staff. These guys are the best around and you dont wait long. So Dr.Hotckiss and staff keep doing what you do and know that you guys always make me smile.. and your doing a wonderful job. I love coming by and saying hello....

Dr. Hotchkiss and his staff are the absolute best. Dr. Hotchkiss is very friendly and seems to genuinely care for his patients. The lab tech is quick and painless. The receptionist is welcoming and always helpful. Very clean and well kept office. No overbooking and I have yet to wait over 5 minutes pass my appointment time.

Loved the doctor, but the staff needs retraining. Took over 1 year to get a credit from an over payment. Finally had to call bookkeeper myself (who was very friendly). I should not have had to have gone to this degree of trouble.
