This review refers to the new facility on 6276 Jackson Road, Ann Arbor 48103. I had high hopes for receiving care at this office, but I became leery when I discovered how difficult and sometimes impossible it is to get in touch with the therapists. This is deliberately designed to be this way. The office is only manned by a living person a few times per week. There is only one number to reach the coordinator and everyone else. Calls are routed to the different treaters from the main line. This is a very inefficient way to communicate. Therapists often fail to return calls, in fact, they seem reluctant to speak with you on the phone at all. Emails are often just simply ignored. The other problem is the quality of care and experience of the therapists runs the gamut from poor to excellent. There are few psychiatric social workers and no psychologists on staff. Most hold degrees in Masters of Counseling which can be obtained in some states via online courses! You must also give them a credit card number and sign a paper stating you will pay for all appoints canceled without 24 hours notice. Given the communication issues, I could easily see how a canceled appointment could be missed and your credit card erroneously charged. But perhaps the most egregious issue for me was the communication of confidential information to a third party without my permission AND allowing this person to play some role in how a letter was written for my legal counsel. This is a violation of the HIPAA laws. This incident goes to the heart of the problems plaguing this outfit ---tone-deafness, unprofessionalism, more income- centered than patient centered, lack of empathy and in some cases dangerous incompetence. Ive given you my impressions. Take them as you like.

Ive been coming to Ann Arbor Counseling Associates for a few years now. I find the staff very accommodating to my needs! I am always able to make an appointment at a time that works for me, and everyone has been very accessible. The counselors are all top notch and very professional. I have never been anything but pleased with the service I receive here! I will continue to come here and I encourage anyone else to as well!

Awful experience with the staff at this place. The therapists are all unhappy. They work crazy hours. They do not care about the patients at all. Extremely unprofessional.
