Just moved to the area and was looking for close primary care physician. First visit went well, I liked the doctor who seemed knowledgeable enough. The wait time was reasonable, although I think it was a slow day for them. Fast forward a month later and I need to see a specialist and want my test results to give to the specialist. I call first thing in the morning and Im told "just come down and well get them for you". So I get there a few hours later and then the story changes to... "well we cant get your records for you today because the medical records person isnt here. But fill out this form" (giving the office permission to release my own records to myself - but whatever). I feel like they should have told me a specific time to come in when I called them if that was a factor. I come back the next day as instructed and ask for a copy of the test and now the story is "Its $20 to get your records copied". Are you serious? I understand it takes a small amount of time, paper and ink to give me a copy of my test result, but $20 is more than the test cost in the first place. How about an email option? Why have I talked to multiple people and been in the office multiple times but no one has ever told me there is a fee? Im not sure about Michigan, but in Ohio there is per page limit that an office can charge for records and $20 is absurd for one page of test results. Poor communication and poor customer service. Needless to say, I wont be back.

Dr Chengappa is very thorough and maintains an excellent bedside manner. He is understanding, and willing to work with you if you need a note for work. I have found him to be pleasant, knowledgeable ,and a joy to interact with.
