I brought my pit mix in here on Saturday for the first time and felt inclined to leave a glowing review for this office. I was taking her to a different vet on 8 mile & my dog, Bella, was clearly not comfortable with him so I needed to change. He didnt seem to like her and he put a muzzle on her face. He saw Bella once and just put her on oral steroid for her skin rash that she was taking for 5 months without any additional visits. Hed just refill the script and not even see my dog, but I digress. Anyway, I am glad I brought Bella to West Woodward Animal Clinic. I immediately felt it was a better fit. Bella was more comfortable; I was more comfortable. The doctor greeted her with a smile and was not intimidated as the other doctor had made it seem. Bella is so afraid of getting her nails trimmed so the doctor did it extremely fast yet accurate. The staff was very friendly and fun. You could tell they liked being there. All around great experience at this place. Finally found my permanent vet!

One vet tech ruined the entire experience for me. She assumed that my cat needed laser eye surgery for an ulcer he has, so we made the appointment and were going ahead with the procedure to keep him healthy. We dropped our cat off at 8:30am and when we picked him up at 3pm the vet told us they did not do the procedure because it was unnecessary and gave us an ointment instead. Of course, my cat had already been stressed out and then put under anesthesia for the procedure before they realized he didnt even need it. Now my cat is sedated and cant walk until tomorrow because of the mistake of a vet tech. Whats more concerning is that the vet didnt bother to check before moving forward. I will not be returning and I am severely disappointed after reading glowing reviews. The staff that let this happen should be ashamed of themselves for putting a helpless animal through this.

I started going to the West Woodward Animal Clinic because they were the only place that could fit me in on a short notice, but I continued to go to them because of their above and beyond level of care. It is rare in this day and age to find an office that cares as much as this one does. They always have time for me and often offer free advice instead of just charging me for another visit. When my cat was sick, they even asked for updates and gave me contact information for after hours if I needed it. Going to the West Woodward Animal Clinic, you feel like family, not just another paycheck. Ive been to quite a few vets over the years, but not one of them compares to the staff at this clinic.

Dont take your pets there they treat animals like animals not like living creatures,,,,, i brought my cane corso to this place for ear crooped guess what they did a half job they even dint wrap his ears or gave him a cone where he wont scratch his ears that was a flag to me,,, nite time comes one of his ears had a 2inch open wound,,,, sitter had to take him to this other vet in eastpoint n they did a great job at it,,,, to alll the animal lovers t he y have no idea what there doing

I love this place! The doctors are very kind, and even when we are in just for grooming they ask about my dog. After we rescued my dog, he had some stomach issues, and they offered free advice on how to help him settle down. In urgent situations, they have always been able to see him. They seem to genuinely care for my dog, and my dog does a happy dance every time we tell him hes going to the vet!

This veterinarian clinic is very welcoming to animal and human alike. I have had a couple of great experiences now which is why I have to give a positive review. They are available at a moments notice and are very kind but professional. I will continue to take my animals here as the experience was positive and they really cared about my pets.

Worst experience. The Vet didt even say hi, introduce himself or tell me his name. He looked at my dod from the doorway prescribed her pain pills for her limping arm and that was it. As i was checking out the receptionist answered the phone and didnt even look at me, i had to ask if we were all set. Unbelievable. 55$ i will never get back.

I have been going here since my Bichon was 8 week old, he is 7yrs old now. Never had a bad experience, vets have alway been kind and tender with him. Their prices are very reasonable. They also have a groomer on staff and boarding.

Very friendly staff. Always happy to see you and are able to take walkins if needed. You can of course call and make an appointment but even if you show up unannounced/no appointment they always find a way to squeeze you in

This place has a great staff, reasonable prices, and can usually get my pets in the same day even if it is only for immunizations. I tried little friends of Ferndale first and found them unavailable and WAY over priced.
