2 TERRIBLE experiences! Dr. Washington is great but must be lacking in the interviewing process dept. the hygienists are downright rude and rough! Had to get my mouth vacumed out about 5 times because it was full of blood because she couldn't scrape a tooth or in between the teeth and qwcompletely destroyed my gums! On top of that they asked me to come back in a couple weeks t have my mouth looked at by the dentist because she was tied up with a difficult child... I vowed to never go back but my girlfriend chose otherwise. She just went back yesterday. The day before her apt she called to verify the time, 4:30. When she showed up the receptionists asker her name and then very rudely told her she was late... You're apt was at 4:20. Ok she said should I reschedule? She just rolled her eyes and opened the door for her to come back. Dr. Washington was very nice as usual, and my gf told her of the rude experience at the front counter. She thanked her for telling her, she did her thing then walked out. When the hygienist came in, it was the receptionist lady : / she performed the entire cleaning in between 5 and 10 min. My gf came home in tears, complaining about how bad her mouth hurt and how much blood she must have swallowed because her gums were tore up as well. I wish I could post pictures on here! I hated to say I told ya so ... So learn from our mistakes, that is unless Dr. Washington tells you she has fixed the problem and you can take the gamble.

I would not recommend this dentist. I went here for several years. I did receive competent care during this time. They helped restore some gum erosion issues I had. Dr. Washington was always caring and professional. However, there were several issues with the way their business is run that have soured me towards them. Whenever I had an appointment, they offered an oral cancer screening for extra cost. If I declined this, they made me sign a waiver with language stating something to the effect of “if you die of oral cancer, don’t blame us!”. This comes off to me as a scare tactic attempting to push me into expensive extra procedures. After every visit, I always had billing issues with my insurer and FSA. The total cost of my care was always more than I expected and always included items that were not covered by my insurance or FSA. The office was usually not very helpful in resolving these. Great Expressions recommended I see them 4x per year due do some gum issues I had. This was necessary for a time. I recently saw another dentist recently who let me know my gum issue was fixed (and has been for some time) Great Expressions was still recommending that I see them twice as often as usual. While I did receive good care when I went there, I always felt more like a cash cow than a patient.

Its been years since Id been to the dentist and I did some research and found this place. The staff was amazing. The girls at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Nichole was my hygienist. She was very knowledgeable, she told me what I need to be doing at home to keep my teeth in great shape, and she was very gentle. I usually hate getting my teeth cleaned, but it was a very nice experience. The dentist was great as well. Ive had some concerns about my teeth for a long time now and she put me at ease. She gave me a few different options for resolving the problems. Im very happy with the overall experience and will be recommending Great Expressions Novi to my friends and family.

Going to great expressions is a nightmare. The staff is usually ok until it comes to pushing products and services on you. And 100% of the products pushed are not covered and they make sure to let you know their disdain and contempt if you dont purchase the $30.00 mouth wash or the porcelain filling or cap thats only $80.00 or $250.00 extra. It likes walking into Art Van or Gardner White, you know you are going to get the full court press and they use the ABCs of sale tactics. Always Be Closing. Its like your living the movie Glen Gary Glen Ross.

This place is totally incompetent when it comes to working with insurance. They pushed my wife and made her start a procedure without even understanding the simple concept that the insurance company will not cover it if it is not first approved by them. Stay away from this incompetent place. They have no clue what theyre doing when it comes to working with insurance, and now we have to pay an extra $250 ($5000 total) per month because of their incompetence.

I went in for a routine 6 month teeth cleaning. Their x-ray machine didnt work, and they refused to clean my teeth without x-rays. Total waste of an hour of my life - I took time off of work for this appointment! Why would x-rays even be required to clean teeth!? I was a Great Expressions patient at a different office for over 15 years, but I need to find another dentist now. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable treatment of a new patient.

From my experiences, these people are always pushing for their customers to pay the highest costs for their treatments. Whenever I had concerns or disagreements, they would look down on me as well as my family. They did not treat us on equal terms as a business to customer relation, and seek to take advantage at every opportunity. They appear to only seek profit as their main goal. I highly do not recommend them.

Terrible. Went in for a cleaning, they told me to come back in a couple weeks to finish the other half of my cleaning! My insurance covers 100% 2 cleanings a year, but somehow I left oweing around $80?? Will not be going back! Now I have to find a new dentist to get a correct cleaning! Also, do not like the lawn chairs and shower curtains in the rooms... and the waiting room is the size of a closet.

Great care shown by everyone at the clinic. Dr. Kim is a brilliant professional and explains very well why a certain procedure is needed. His work is very good and all the work hes done on me has been great so far(trust me Ive been there a lot: 1 Root scaling, 3 filling appointments and regular cleaning). Everyone else (Nicole-RDH, Laurielle-HA, Ashley at the front desk) is great too. Highly recommend.

Did not like the customer service...these people charge unnecessarily for every item and are very unfriendly and rude. Office manager is ready to bill customers with fines. I had no time for fillings but came in for cleaning, she charges $35 after requesting to waive as my whole family goes there. Worst customer service. Requested them to not call us bk again and erase our records

Doctor Kim was so great! He really made me feel comfortable at the office. The hygienist, Nicole, was very friendly and kind and when I asked questions she took the time to answer then, even when it was as small as feeling like their was still something in my teeth! Overall it was a great atmosphere and felt like they took their time to be efficient!

I have only ever had cleanings here. The first few times the hygienists were quite rough when scraping and poking around in my mouth. The last two times were much better so Im guessing theyve gotten some new hygienists. Ive never had a filling done, but my sister did and she said Dr. Washington did the gentlest dental work shes ever had.
