I wish I could give them zero stars, but, unfortunately, you have to pick at least one. Horrible service. I called today for the second time in 2 weeks, trying to get an appointment for my dog. The lady asked for the pets name and when she found out hes not a patient, she said they have no appointments, and I should try again tomorrow. They did have appointments for existing patients though. I would say that that is somebody who really cares about the pets well being. NOT. Extremely disappointed with this place and shocked that the reviews are so high. I understand that they have a routine, but she also showed no compassion or regrets that she had to turn away a patient in need of medical attention. On the contrary, she was extremely cold and rude. Unbelievable! I will never call this place for an appointment ever again, even if all the veterinary places on earth closed down forever. Thank you for your caring. The owner wrote a response to my review and Im not sure how to reply to it. So, Ill just add to the original one. We were not trying to use your facility because the veterinarian place we usually go to was closed. We were looking to switch and we were impressed by your reviews (?!?!). I dont think people take their pets to the vet when they are not sick. I would think most people sick help when their pets need it. Our current vet was not closed the first time and they did have appointments for that day. Thank you anyway that you took the time to answer and there will not be a third try for us. Again, extremely disappointed.

LOVE! My dog has broken metacarpals and is in a cast. The original hospital that I took her to overcharged on every service so I checked around. More than one animal hospital referred me to Oakland Animal Hospital. Dr. Duncan, the ortho specialist, didnt have any openings for more than 2 weeks so I couldnt get in. He personally contacted me to answer questions. He fit us into his schedule in less than a week! My 13 year old dog does not generally like men but she took to Dr. Duncan the minute he walked into the room. They changed her cast without anesthesia ~ something the other place was unwilling to do ~ and took great care of her. The original "specialist" hospital quoted "a little over $600" for the cast change. My initial visit was $68 at Oakland Animal Hospital, followed by a $170 visit for a cast change, x-rays, and a consult! Every staff member weve encountered has been friendly, caring, and welcoming. If youre looking for a fantastic vet, look no further!!

Dr. Duncan is the best, he performed ACL surgery on both of our Beagle, Daisys rear legs. After moving to AZ Daisy’s new AAHA vet was complimenting the great job the surgeon (Dr. Duncan) did, she had the same surgery performed on her dog but the outcome was not as positive. Daisy was just back to see Dr. Duncan in April to have 5 lumps removed, they are so good we traveled from Georgia to have Dr. Duncan perform her surgery. She is doing great and that is due to the wonderful job Dr. Duncan and the staff do at Oakland Animal Hospital. We lived in Arizona & Georgia and have not found any vet better. Thanks for the care you show for our furry loved ones.

We moved to the Rochester area from Canton and we had to find a new vet for our dog. Its always nerve-wracking taking your pet to a new place, especially when he or she is sick and you just want to see them get better. The staff at Oakland Animal Hospital couldnt have done a better job in making us feel welcome and confident that our dog was going to get the best care. The front staff was extremely kind, and the tech and veterinarian were incredibly attentive to our pup and patient with us. It means the world to us to know we have somewhere we can take our dog and two cats and know theyre going to receive the best care.

I have been going to Oakland Animal Hospital for a very long time. I can tell you first hand there compassion and talent of the entire staff. Dr. Monica and Dr. Pillsbury have an enormous amount of talent Dr. Monica was unbelievably kind and understanding when it came time to say goodbye to my first dog. Now, Dr. Pillsbury looks after my dog and she has been more than patient with me (and him) with our many trips to see her and my many questions or concerns. You can be confident that any of the doctors there will treat your pet with the highest level of care.

Dr. Duncan has been taking care of my Pitbull Duncan for two years. When we rescued him Oakland Animal Hospital was my first stop. I have gotten to see the caring person that Dr. Duncan is and his compassion flows into his work and love for animals. Most people with pets understand what your pet means. Duncan was my first pet, now I know why having the backing of an amazing vet is important to pet owners. If you refer to your pet as a family member. Dr. Duncan is who needs to be caring for your pet.

I just came home from an emergency visit at the Oakland Animal Hospital. It was such a great experience with Dr. Monica. My dog spent the past 24 hours puking odd colors/blood/bad odor, and was extremely sick. Dr. Monica did such a great job at explaining the complications, the x-rays, and the prescription instructions with "non-medical" terminology so that we could really comprehend what was going on. Im beyond impressed with this Dr. and his ability to make the pets and families feel at ease!

I recently lost a pet cat and wanted to praise the entire staff of OAH, especially Dr. Booth and Beth, VMT who assisted in many challenging end-of-life issues. Everyone was so kind and caring. After over 10-years as a client, with the needs of a young cat to an elderly, sick cat, I have every confidence in recommending OAH. Dr. Pillsbury is excellent with behavioral issues. She saved a poor, nervous cat I rescued from a miserable life. He was completely transformed.

Ive been bringing my dog here for around 2 years. Ive seen Dr. McInnis, Dr. Monica, and Dr. Farr (currently). I feel like I can trust these people with my dog and that means a lot. I bring her here for routine checks and shots. They were also able to diagnose a critical, unexpected illness for immediate treatment that saved my dogs life. I recently moved out of Rochester and still make the drive. Id recommend to anyone looking in the area.

5+ Ive taken 2 or 3 of my dogs here over many years. Ive also recommended them to friends & they rave about this place as well. They are all very friendly from the girls at the desk to the doctors. Ive seen Dr Gillespie, Dr Booth, & 2-3 either Drs & have always been happy. They take all the time you need, answer all questions you may have…. I wont take my puppy anywhere else.

The Oakland Animal Hospital is outstanding. Specifically, Dr. Tim Duncan is amazing. Hes been my vet since my husky was a puppy. Ive had a couple emergencies with my husky and he has been available and extremely knowledgeable. Hes so patient and very good at communicating. I cannot recommend him highly enough!
