Absolutely horrible!!! Let me start by saying, I THOUGHT i had taken my daughters hedgehog to a decent place. The people their treated us very nice when we arrived, got us in the back really quick but at that time there was nothing they were able to do. We lost our daughters hedgehog. Now, thats not the bad part. We were "GIVEN" a small plaster piece that had the hedgehogs paw print in it by the vet or at least the lady that was taking care of us at the time. She told us that it had to dry and we could pick it up next day. No charge! We said thank you and left. Next day we pick up the paw print with no mention of payment. Now fast forward 10 or so months, im now receiving a bill in the mail for 10 dollars saying im more than 120 days past due on my account! And their going to charge me late fees every month that its not paid.. Somethings not right with this place.. We took my daughters hedgehog to them in late 2016 and im not receiving these letters until the 7th and 8th month of 2017. Seems to me they might be going downhill and now their trying to stay afloat by sending people nonsense bills. If they wanted 10 bucks i would have paid that in 2016 when i picked up the paw print. Not a good way to do business at all southgate animal hospital... And to all their clients and to new patients, you should pay close attention to your bill and make sure their not trying to rip you off 10 bucks at a time. Needless to say, ill never be back!

In April, 2014, I took my lop-ear rabbit, Gideon, to Southgate Animal Hospital for care. I trusted their many years of experience with exotics. They were able to diaganose & treat him with antibiotics & pain meds. Unfortunately, Giddy took a turn for the worse a week later. He let me know that it was time for him to go. I did not want to have him die in pain, so the vet assisted with euthanasia. It was horrible to have make that choice, but as a responible pet owners, we do what we can to make our pets as comfortable as possible. I sang the song he loved most ("Do Your Ears Hang Low..."), kissed his little pink nose & hoped he would know how much I loved him. The vets & staff were sensitive to my situation. The vet explained everything thoroughly to me before we made any decisions. They treated Gideon gently & with the utmost respect. Giddy went quickly, without pain or suffering. They even made a beautiful plaster print of his paw for me, that I cherish very much. Southgate Animal Hospial went out of their way to make, me & my Giddys, last day together as calm & peaceful as possible. Thank you!

Thanks a lot for killing my rabbit Southgate Animal Hospital. She was my service animal and you managed to kill her somehow. Are you really sure you know what youre doing when it comes to rabbits and how much anesthesia to actually give a rabbit without killing it? My rabbit was completely healthy yesterday morning running around eating, honking and being sassy, and somehow by 2:30pm shes not able to breathe on her own. Please stop saying your experienced with rabbits when clearly you have no GOD DAMN idea with how to handle them. Thanks for nothing. Youre horrible and Im angry and hurt. Stop using the stupid ass laser way and just go back to the traditional way, its better that way. Just stop trying be "efficient," because clearly its not working. But now you killed her and Im heartbroken. Thank you for showing so much compassion. I hope no one goes here, please save your money, time, and rabbits from this awful GOD DAMN place they DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE HELL THEY ARE DOING WHEN IT COMES TO RABBITS. So please save yourself the heartache and your rabbit from these heartless bastards.

This is one of the only vet clinics that see rabbits. I brought my baby that I have had for 3 years in there and during his visit with the vet, hurt his foot so bad he couldnt put any pressure on it. The vet said she didnt know what was wrong with his foot but he had an abscess in his mouth and sent me home with pain killers and antibiotics. 3 weeks later he died. I got a new bunny. I brought him in yesterday because he busted his lip and again, they gave me pain killers and antibiotics. He died today. It could be the meds, the lack of examination, misdiagnosis.. either way.. pretty big coincidence. Also, its $30 per prescription but they always urge to give them a shot of the meds they need to "get a jump start on it". One shot is $25-$30.. so the injections is adding one does for the same price as an entire prescription. Im upset because there are few vets in the area that treat rabbits and these people hurt one rabbit and generalized both to give them the same prescriptions

I will never return to this location. You get treated like youre an idiot. I have a calico macaw and the vet tried saying there is no such thing he is definitely a scarlet. When I got him from his owner who got him young and has paperwork to prove hes a calico. Second while I was there I was told multiple different answers to anything I asked the old hag snotty women behind the counter had all kinds of comments to say about me and loud enough that the entire clinic could hear their mouths flap around. They are an embarrassment. I have many more nasty things to say but Im pretty sure no one is going to read everything that happened to me when I visited here. Keep your animals safe and go somewhere that actually cares about you and your pets well being. Dont go to these people They do nothing but belittle you once you leave or while your still there NEVER AGAIN! THINK SMART DONT COME HERE

without a doubt in my mind, each and everyone of the associates and doctors are nothing but the best. my animals are at ease with everyone at Southgate, even if it is to be their last day on earth. the love and compassion that is shown to EVERY animals that walks thru their doors is to be applauded. i walk thru their doors very often, i also take care of the medical needs of our shelter animals, and the love and compassion they show all of my shelter fuzzies is equal to the love and compassion that is given to my own furries. without Southgate Animal Hospitals care so many of our shelter animals would have never had the opportunity to find their fur ever homes. God Bless you all and the simple words Thank You, will never be enough to show my love and appreciation for each and every one of you . xoxoxo

Avian Vets are harder to find than the average Vet. Received thorough exam and concern from Keith for my bird. Prices on Lab work seem high, but could be that bird tests are not available at every Lab. Keith has Laser surgery and Digital X-rays on-site. Received follow-up call to see if medicine helped. Dont get that concern from my MD. Maybe I should see a Vet for myself from now on. Months later our second bird, Cherry, was critical but Elaine took her after hours and tried to save her. If we had more time and had not seen someone else at an Emergency center Cherry would probably be alive. They care at Southgate Animal Hospital and the procedure performed was successful but too much prior infection killed Cherry. She died in her great Loves arms. May we meet on the Rainbow Bridge.
