Dr Altrogge has been our dear family vet since 1998. She has helped us say hello to new puppies and kittens and goodbye to very loved senior dogs and cats. Dr Altrogges wonderful care has included regular check ups, surgeries, diagnosis and care for a rare cancer as well as Addisons disease- an uncommon endocrine system disorder. I have full confidence in Dr Altrogges care of our fur family members (3 current pets and 9 passed) and feel good about recommending her to family and friends. When our human children were young and our pets needed care, Dr Altrogges visits to our home were fabulous, I didnt have to pack up kids or stressed pets. When our pets were very senior (ie: 23 year old cat, 11 year old wobbly legged dog) her home visits took away stress from the car ride and office visits enabling better care. When we do go to her office, her staff is professional, caring and efficient. Her office/lab is clean, private and appointed with everything she has needed to care for our pets. Her fees are super competitive... do your homework, call and check out prices- youll see. Dr Altrogge is a super DVM and a wonderful member of our community. In the community, Dr Altrogge has been active with Girl Scouts, Church youth groups, Animal Rescue Groups, Missionary Work, Community Theater and more. I mention this to point out Dr Altrogges caring is alive IN and OUT of her office. Home Health Care for Pets is an amazing animal clinic. Thanks to the gentle, caring staff, my dogs are no longer stressed out about going to the Vet. And for those days that my dogs are a little worried, it’s comforting to know that they make house calls too. Dr. Sharon is simply in a class by herself. Her compassion, attention to detail, and diagnostic abilities are unmatched. She is extremely knowledgeable and very professional, as well as being very personable. I appreciate that she takes the time to explain my pet’s ailments in detail and in a way that a non-medical person can understand. Dr. Altrogge has come to my rescue so many times; she found a cancerous tumor in one of my older female cats; performed surgery - and my Sweet Pea lived cancer free for many more years. She does home visits which are rare among vets. When I adopted an elder cat from Livingston County Animal Shelter, the elder cat had an upper respiratory infection that infected the rest of my cats - all five! She prepared a cache of injections, and showed me how to administer daily to all six of them. Every one of them was cured of the infection. I have so much gratitude for finding this DVM; truly the best Ive ever known.

Just the best people. Very caring. I 100% trust Dr. Sharon. Years ago she successfully treated my rescue dog with heartworm. Helped with his anxiety and was very understanding of his behavioral issues. (From trauma) Was very good at explaining everything and making sure he was as comfortable as possible. She genuninly cares for the animals she works with. That was years ago and he has since passed away but ill never forget what she did for him. We finally got a new dog and the staff was so sweet for her first visit. Just love these people! I am looking forward to seeing her for years with our new baby.

She turned her patient,my dog, away as she didnt have time to examine her. My friend, who was dog sitting, had to take her to another vet who determined that she was dying had to be euthanized. All this while I was out of town. My heart is still broken for the way she was treated by Dr. Sharon. Then Dr. Sharon had the huxpah to try to make it my fault. There is much more to this story but too long and painful to go into now.

Dr. Altrogge provides not only medical expertise but also compassion for both pet and pet owner. She has been very accommodating in responding promptly when a pets need is acute. Dr. Altrogge and her staff are wonderful! They have cared for my bullmastiff for 7 years, our cats for 8 years, and our rats for 3 years. She has come to our home and we have gone to hers. Her prices are affordable and shes very easy to talk to and ask questions. A few of our pets have been special needs, and she has really been wonderful!
