I brought my two cats here because they were due for Rabies/Distemper vaccinations. My younger cat had just recovered from a minor cold, and my older cat was just beginning to get a cold. I told this to the vet, and she acted disinterested and administered the rabies shots. I did not find out until after I got home that the rabies shot is very harsh on even a healthy cat, so to give a sick and elderly cat the shot is a BIG NO NO. As the veterinarian, it was her duty to know this and recommend I come back when the cats are healthy to receive their shots. Instead, obviously only caring about $$$, she gave the shots anyways, and got 100 bucks out of it. Now my elderly cat has had a very bad reaction to the shot. He is sore all over and has lost a lot of weight. In my experience this is a BAD vet clinic, please do not support their greed with your business. Do not risk your pets health by going to this place. Also... this same vet found a large lump in my older cats abdomen. Clearly I had a lot of questions about it and wanted an in-depth answer from a concerned vet. She (Dr. Wood) acted like she did not have the time to explain the possible causes and treatment options, and also complained about needing a lunch break. The only thing she did was recommend an ultrasound, which I learned afterward is only one possible treatment/exploratory option, and is the most costly of them all. Very unprofessional, very uncaring, very greedy; just plain BAD. Further, in the waiting room/area there were a lot of noisy barking dogs whose owners let the dogs come up to my cat carriers and sniff them. My cats were already stressed from the car ride and strange environment, and this freaked them out very badly. None of the receptionists, vets, or owners around cared to stop the dogs, and I had to stop them myself. Unbelievable.

After numerous visits to other vets trying to figure what was wrong with my cat, I ended up at Eagan Pet Clinic based on glowing reviews from another pet parent. I was very impressed by everyone there. When I called to make an appointment, Dr. Wood (who I see is mentioned in another review) answered the phone and talked with me about my issues for quite some time. She was very caring and helpful; simply could not have been any nicer to this poor stressed-out pet owner! My appointment ended up being made with another vet, Dr. Schowalter, and she was amazing. She talked to me about all my options, listened to my concerns, and came up with a course of action that made sense given my situation. I felt like I could make the right decision on what to do about my cat based on our discussion, which is something I hadnt felt after talking to any other vet. When I came in to pick up my cat after the day of tests, she fully explained what had been discovered. Overall, I couldnt be happier with my experience there. After trips to other average vets who couldnt do much to help my cat and a whole lot of frustration, it was a relief to find a place who truly wanted to help us and had the expertise to do so effectively. I know that cost may be a concern for some reading these reviews, so I will add that I found the prices for each of the services I received to be very reasonable. Plus the time they took to talk with me about the recommended services put me totally at ease that each one was warranted and worthwhile.

Extremely compassionate care. Ive been bringing my dogs to the Eagan Pet Clinic since I moved here in 2004. The most memorable visits include emergency visits and calls. My Corgi has had eye infections and an infected cycst, both treated sucessfully by Dr. Metcalf. My two dogs got into a dominance dispute this past winter/spring and when I called they told me to come over right away and my Maltese received very compassionate care by a young male vet for facial swelling and a scratched cornea (that vet is not listed on the website, maybe an intern?) even though I was very frazzled! While I was caring for my sisters dog a few years ago, the dog started limping. Knowing she had tendonitis but I had none of her Rimadyl medication on hand, I gave her childrens Advil as an anti-inflammatory. (I work in the human medical field and figured an anti-inflammatory is an anti-inflammatory.) The next day I called and spoke to a vet tech. Less than a minute later, Dr. Wood was on the line and told me ibprofin is not safe for dogs. While on the phone with me, she searched vetinary journals and determined ibprofin can cause liver failure in dogs. I brought the dog in, and the liver testing came back normal, to my relief! I will continue to bring my dogs to this clinic based on the care my pets have received in the past.

Dr. Woods should be fired!! She not only wasted my time and gas money running back and forth, but ADMINISTERED VACCINES WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION! Furthermore, she didnt administer the bandage to the affected wound which was her only job in regards to my cat at that visit. She had been notified that eveining and told me she was aware that it came off before she left but, that she didnt want to upset me or the cat anymore so, she didnt even mention to me that it wasnt on. My cats foot remains infected 11 days later. She didnt even bother to call or have one of her associates call when I told her the bandage came off and the wound was still infected and painful to my cat. I told her I wouldnt be returning after yrs of going there and no word since. I will be contacting them in person to request they right this wrong and that she be at least have a written consultation regarding her crappy practices as a vet! BOOOHH DR WOODS!!!!

I cannot express in words how amazing this clinic has been to my two rescue pups and my family. From the kind and attentive receptionists, from the doctors (especially Dr. Scholwalter and Dr. Hanson) We could not be happier. Our dogs struggle with severe dental issues and the time and energy they put into making sure our dogs were healthy and taken care of goes beyond the call of duty. They called us night and day to check on them. They offered alternative treatments to ease the pain for the dogs (and our wallets). They listened to our needs and were always available for questions or concerns. I cannot recommend this clinic enough. Its busy because its so good. It has taken me years to find a trust worthy vet to take our pets to. I will never leave this clinic. Highly recommend!

We have been going to Eagan Pet Clinic for over a year, and have nothing but good experiences to share! Weve been seen by Dr. Schowalter and Dr. Hansen and adore them both. They both have a calm, gentle demeanor that put my dogs at ease (even my one dog who is a total spaz gets all melty and calm when hes around them!) Every time weve gone there weve been treated with courtesy and given top-notch care. The support staff is friendly and efficient. Waiting room and exam rooms are clean and bright. Highly recommended.
