I adopted two cats recently from Petsmarts Smart adoption center 5ft from this pet clinic. I was thoroughly decieved by this company when I come to find the kitten that was tested and treated for various illnesses in their clinic had EVERY DISEASE that Banfield supposedly tests the pets for before Smart sells the cats for adoption. Banfield wont stand behind their exams or they just plain do not initiate them and just say they did them. Days after I brought the cats home, the kitten had respiratory issues, earmites, and two other fun diseases that Banfield CHARGED ME FOR! After going broke from their 200+ dollars of treatments we come to find that the OTHER older cat had RINGWORM! We noticed her back look dried and it couldnt have been more obvious if Banfield didnt lie and pass this cat as well as perfectly healthy (I have all my documents saying these cats had perfect health) when I adopted them. Now the young kitten is sick again and Banfield wants another 200 bucks. This is by far over and I will make my story known at least everywhere I can because Banfield refuses to pay for these known issues before the cats were adopted.

We are first time pet owners and we took our puppy to the clinic looking for a long term vet. They sold us a package for all the care we would need. Then once we started using the plan we found out it did not cover parts that we were told. They found loop holes to NOT give us service or to charge us extra. They are over priced to begin with so the extra charges were not acceptable. They never told us that if we experienced specific issues with the pet then the plan would not cover the costs. They withheld information and when confronted on it they blamed someone else and told us they could do nothing about it. So we could have saved a lot of money if we had used someone else even with the issues but they dont care. They only seem to care about selling the plan. Would NEVER use Banfield again!!!!!!!

Banfield was definitely more expensive than going to a local vet. Dont let the free exam deal fool you. And in this case, more expensive does not mean greater quality care in my opinion. For example, they charged me hospitalization fees and pet nurse care fees which is something Ive not encountered at any other vet. I was also quoted $1,200 for a recommended future service that ended up costing me only half that at a fantastic local vet office. The hours are a plus and its an option if youre in a bind (like I was), and I cant compare it to just going to the emergency vet since Ive never been. Overall, I recommend finding a local vet that you can trust with the long-term care of your pet. One good thing Ill say though was that the receptionist was extremely nice and was good with my pet.

We just moved to Burnsville, MN and we wanted to stay with a Banfield hospital since we have our dogs insurance with them. He has visited his vet in once for his yearly check up and shots, which went perfect. We were having some problems with our dogs behavior within the two months of our move and didnt know where else to turn, so we asked to speak with the vet we saw the first time. She was wonderful and sat and talked to us and worked out issues and gave us possibilities, recommendations and did a physical again with our dog. It was so well done and so kind. We feel very comfortable going here with our pet, we are new to the area and unbiased on any way the place was run before our arrival. We feel we have made the right decision and have been treated wonderfully.

We have been going to Banfield in Burnsville for over two years. We have the Wellness plan on our two English Golden Retrievers, and as long as we can afford it, we will continue to do so. Being able to bring in our pups for cursory reviews after a rough tumble or because of our "parental paranoia" is invaluable to us. The plan is worth it and the doctors and staff are friendly, professional, and great. When they cant handle something at their location, they will refer to someone who can. Our dogs love going there. I dont know why there are so many bad reviews on here. I think those people who are most likely to comment on these types of pages are probably outliers who may have had one bad experience, as we have had nothing but a great experience there.

I agree where is Dr. Rapp. I have been taking my animals there for years, yesterday I took my dog there for her comp check and shots, never had a problem, then yesterday I get a call saying that my dog is sick and vomiting everywhere and they needed to give her a shot because she was having a reaction to the shots. She is 4 and never had a problem like that before???? Molly the front desk lady always kept me updated on when I needed to bring my pet in, and was very helpfull and knew what she was doing as well. I now wonder if the new overhauled staff knows much of anything. Dr. Rapp It you read this, I along with many other people would like to know where you are, so we can continue to see a caring and honest vet.

Used to be our preferred pet hospital till we had one too many negative experiences with my dogs at this location. Last straw was 2 weeks ago when my dog had surgery there and they left in the IV in his arm after he was cleared to be sent home. Tried calling the hospital after I realized they left a tube in my dogs arm, 3 mins before close.. went to the stores voicemail right away. Called Eagan banfield 1 min after close they picked up 1st ring. When Ive needed help the most for my dogs its been Eagan thats helped us the most. This is not the first time that we have had to go to Eagan to bail us out when Burnsville banfield was unwilling to see us on short notice.

This location is going through a major overhaul but as of October 2011, DO NOT take your pet here. I didnt heed my groomers warning when she said they messed up her dogs neuter and Im kicking myself for it now. They are careless (messed up my dogs vaccines, wouldnt apologize) and have terrible customer service (I had to call THEM to get info on my dogs bloodwork, WHICH HAD PROBLEMS!). Half of the people working there shouldnt be allowed to care for any living, loved thing -- period. I went there for two years, found three vets I liked (Andrews, Steffenhagen, Rapp) and each of them is now gone. What does that tell you? STEER CLEAR.

The vet vaccinated my elderly Basset Hound, I expressed concern over his breathing and lumps, she said its normal for older dogs to have lumps. He ended up being diagnosed with cancer by a vet who actually lifted him on a table and did an exam, not just bending over my dog. The vaccinations exacerbated his symptoms and he died. I am still making payments. They would not make adjustments saying I already got a free exam as a first time visit.

Disregard any poor reviews, this place is awesome! I have had nothing but great experiences with the Burnsville, MN location. Staff has always been extremely friendly and genuinely caring regarding my dog. Complaints about price are subjective to say the least. The Wellness plan is a no-brainer if you want the utmost all-around care for your pet. Its like a health insurance policy for your pet, highly recommended.
