In 10 years we had 2 very small service glitches, total. Dr. Christopherson almost exclusively saw my dog between the ages of 12 and 18 and her care could not have been better. Their euthanasia service is almost as good as having it done at home. I was thrilled when Dr. Stadtherr returned to the practice. We loved her as a tech and she is as good a doctor. And the techs there are as good as the doctors. When Cynthia cried at my dogs euthanasia, I knew she was authentic. She had always remembered Lula, knew what she needed and gave lots of affection with her skillful care. A tech who wasnt the best at finding her little veins admitted it and called in another tech to take care of that. I was always mystified when I heard others tell stories about long waits at the vets office and animal conflicts in the waiting room. At Grand Avenue I spend hardly any time in the waiting room. The front office staff may be their weak point (but not very weak) but someone is keeping things running very smoothly. When I decided to change vets solely because of location and because I was starting with a new dog who had no special needs, I had a long conversation with Dr. Brownlee. Grand Ave will always be my second opinion when things get serious.

The Grand Avenue vet is amazing, and surprisingly, the same prices as the other two mentioned above (even though theyre on Grand Ave, where the rent is higher...maybe its volume, because theyre so popular?). They dont push an "insurance" plan like Banfield, and are much more personalized than Feist. When a friends dog had to be put down, I went with her, and Grand Ave had a room set up on their second floor, set up and furnished like a living room, where she got to say goodbye. It was amazing...and the other two places dont have anything like that. I was always suspicious of vets (so many seem like theyre just in it for the money, and push shots and treatments, even when theyre not needed...this was a problem at both Feist and Banfield), but Grand isnt like that - they really want the best for everyone concerned, and make you and your pet as comfortable as possible. OUTSTANDING!

We visit Grand Avenue Veterinary Center for our animal-family needs, Dr. Heather Stadtherr is our family vet. Weve found the staff to be kind, efficient and VERY helpful, always willing to go a bit out of their way if necessary to make our pets lives a bit easier. . . Currently were facing an end-of-life decision for our beloved standard poodle, and Dr. Stadtherr has been supportive, loving, and extremely sensitive as we examine alternatives to give our Atticus a relatively pain-free end to his long and happy life. . . We feel very fortunate that GAVC is just a few blocks away from our home, we can walk there easily. Having experienced the loving care they provide to their animal patients, and the kindness they show toward the pet-parents they deal with, we are very happy to recommend their services.

Ive taken my cat to Grand Ave Vets a few times over the years and have been nothing but impressed with the experience. In fact, I usually dont write reviews but felt compelled to after my recent experience here. The staff are friendly and caring and Dr. Seidl is wonderful to work with. She takes the time to address your concerns and thoroughly explains the situation without being pushy or rushed. Having a sick pet can be a tough experience so its important to have a vet you can rely on to put your pet first and thats what youll get here. Theyre also aware that resources can be limited and are happy to give you pricing options for treatment ahead of time so that you never feel in the dark and can make the best decision for you and your pet. All in all I cant recommend the folks here enough.

I have taken my three Yorkie brothers to Grand Avenue Veterinary Center for many years and am always delighted with the excellent care they receive. The very kind, gentle and understanding staff always treat my boys like gold, and me as well! In addition to the outstanding veterinary care, they provide excellent advice and straightforward answers to my questions, treatment/maintenance plans tailored to our needs, and a kind ear and a tissue for those more difficult moments. It is of great comfort to me to know that this team of professionals is there to take care of my three best friends.

This place is really wonderful. The veterinarians are all compassionate, competent, patient, generous, and extremely knowledgable. I have been to many vets over the years, and this is by far the best in every way. My dog has received excellent care here and although for the entirety of his 8 years of life hes been terrified of vets, he actually pulls to go into this place. I will have to move from Minneapolis in the next year or so, and the people here will be the reason that Ill forever be disappointed with future veterinary care.

This is a great place to put trust in for your pets care. I brought my 30lb dog here for a second opinion on a torn ACL, and the level of care he got was unparalleled to anything Ive ever seen before. After the visit, they returned all of my calls to every random question I came up with. They showed an incredible amount of patience with me, compassion for my dog, and they know what theyre doing with the animals. Ive never really been too happy with my previous vets, but Grand Ave Vet changed my expectations.

I love Grand Ave Vet Center - they are so great! Every time weve had an appointment, the staff is always very friendly and professional. They handle my pup (who is very high-strung and vocal) very well - they never complain about her being difficult and instead, greet her with a warmth. Theyve also been wonderful about making sure she is healthy and has recommended a specialist to us for a hip issue. Im so glad they are on top of things! Nothing but good things to say about this clinic.

WOW! My wife and I cant say enough great things about this place. We have only lived in St. Paul for one year but we have had nothing but great experiences with Grand Avenue Vet. They helped us with putting our first dog Stan down and the grieving process as well. In addition we just got a new rescue dog Cal who had to have a procedure done this morning and they rocked it! I recommend all the staff, from the vets, to the techs, to the front desk they are they best Ive ever experienced.

On the classy Grand Avenue. Very friendly, obviously really care about animals. I talked to our neighbors and asked where the best veternarian in the area is, and they all recommended Grand Avenue Vet. Weve been going there for two years now for our dog, and theyve been very caring and even know our names.

Such a wonderful, caring, place. Weve been going here for years (after checking out many other veterinarians), and we love their service. Its set in what used to be a private home, but is now a beautiful location for a veterinary service. Highly recommend (as do all our neighbors!). :-)
