We have a child who is sick more than usual. She has been to the ER at Northfield several times now. Each time we never had to wait, which is really nice when you have a sick and scared toddler. On our last ER visit she had to be admitted. All of the doctors, nurses, and ancillary staff were very caring and helpful. They were very thorough, and erred on the side of caution to make sure they didnt miss anything. We are grateful to the staff and we have never had a bad experience with this hospital. We have other options for care, but we will continue to choose Northfield based on the care weve all received there so far. One caveat: We have not used their regular clinics, only after hours emergency care.

I was there for a toe operation, on August 21. One day in and out I was told. After the surgery the pain med were not working. The nurse kept asking me in a accusing tone, are you sure you dont take narcotics at home? Insult! It was around 7 pm, I asked to asked my doctor if I could stay overnight. The nurse came back told me he said no. Later b when I spoke to the doctor he said yes! Around 9 still in severe pain no medicine working. I told the nurse I Was staying. My daughter had gone home and due to the storm we had no electricity. So then the nurse sent in a house supervisor. She said it would be fraud to keep me, and my personal problems werent there problem. So I had to go home!!

Went to ER with severe neck spasm. Was refused help with pain, was told this was directly related to the fact that I was a pain clinic patient. I go to a pain clinic for chronic lower back pain (have had 6 surgeries on back and also am on disability because of pain). Even though my visit had nothing to do with my back, I was told by the ER doctor that if I ever returned again saying I had neck or back pain I would be refused help. Anyone who is in a similar situation as I am, I would NEVER go to this place again.

This Hospital does nothing but deliver babies and serve as an Urgent Care. At its busiest during weekdays, it still seems like a ghost of a previously occupied hospital and its not even fifteen years old! Your best choice is Ridges Hospital in Burnsville or District One Hospital in Faribault. If its something more serious or complex, go straight to HCMC in Minneapolis or Regions Hospital in St Paul. Both are Level I Trauma Centers with fast-track protocols for other minor injuries and illnesses.

I arrived at the emergency room @ 3am in tremendous pain and received kind and thorough care. After necessary tests the emergency room dr. admitted me for emergency surgery. Every nurse that cared for me was gentle and very caring. I am very thankful for Dr. Neilsen and all of the staff that performed my surgery. I am having the best recovery I could have hoped for and the follow up care has been very good as well.

I was having difficulty breathing and went to the ER where the doctors assumed I was having anxiety issues. Turns out it was a common cold. Idiots. And I had new insurance at the time but they didnt the correct one on file. Instead of letting me know I get a bill for $1000 two months later for some bogus visit to the hospital where the "doctors" on staff couldnt even correctly diagnose a simple cold.

Had all 4 of my children at Northfield Hospital and loved everything about it. Especially the double beds! All the nurses were kind, sensitive and supportive. My Family Practice Doc and the Womens Health Center Docs worked seamlessly together. We checked our itemized bill against a friends bill from another hospital and Northfield was quite a bit less. Quality of care excellent!

I have lived in Northfield 4 years and unfortunately I have to make use of the ER frequently and have had two surgeries at Nfld Hospital and it is the nicest with the most caring & friendly staffed facility I have ever had the pleasure of visiting or staying any length of time at. And their "hospital food" is delicious :o)

Youll tell multiple doctors for ten years that your antidepressant medication isnt working and instead of changing it, they just up the dose. Went to a professional and they said I was never on antidepressants. The doctors at the hospital lied to me about what medication I was taking. Never going to their clinic again.

My ER experience with Dr. Fischer was all positive. I came in concerned and emotional about an irregular heartbeat, and the doctor and her staff performed their duties exceptionally well.

This hospital is worst beside your basic healthcare. Anything major and they take your money for a week and the send you to a real professional.
