The building is clean and welcoming, they even welcomed me and my cat by name as soon as I walked in. The wait time was practically non-existent. I was quite impressed until I went into the exam room. The patient rooms have a door that connect to where the doctors and assistants work in the back, and you can hear everything going on in the back area. I could hear every single word being said by Dr. Hunter and the others. I am grateful that they were incredibly professional and I did not hear any personal information about others or something rude or offensive. However, it would be better if there was a way to ensure I did not hear everything being said. I saw Dr. Kate An Hunter and I was quite unsatisfied. She only examined my cat for about 3 minutes. She tried to take the cats temperature and of course my cat did not like it. She meowed, hissed and clenched up-- and Dr. Hunter wanted to sedate my cat in order to continue the exam! I have had cats my entire life and I have NEVER had someone want to sedate my cat in order to examine them! Dr. Hunter identified a tooth infection in the first minute of the exam, which I was very grateful for. She prescribed medication and said she was fairly confident that was the only issue with my cat. I went ahead and believed her because to sedate my cat and finish the exam was going to be $350. She also informed me I will have to come in for another appointment to get my cats teeth cleaned (which makes sense). She wrote me up an estimate that ranged from $500 all the way to $1500. Dr. Hunter told me to "put some money aside for this", but also said it needs to be done within the next two weeks. She said they couldnt know more about the cost because she didnt get a good look at the tooth... but she also didnt try to look at my cat any closer. Dr. Hunter said they would call the following day to make sure my cat was feeling better and to schedule the tooth cleaning. No one ever called. My cat was prescribed two medications, one is for pain and one is an antibiotic. One of the medications says right on the bottle that it is for dogs only. I did not notice this while at the clinic, but it would have been good for Dr. Hunter to point this out to me and explain why it would be safe for my cat anyway. I had to use Google to find out it was safe (I almost stopped giving it to her because I could not figure out why my cat would be receiving dog medication). The same medication now emails me every day to remind me to give my cat her meds. This isnt a big deal, but I would have appreciated knowing that the clinic was going to be giving my email out to another company (and I would have requested they not do so).

Hello, We take (probably used to take) our mini golden doodle to this vet. I have no doubt in my mind that they care for the animals they see here. They were great with him. However, they seem to over-recommend any and every procedure. One year after our dog had his teeth professionally cleaned (where he was sedated) at a different facility, we were told by Carver Lake Vet that his teeth were really bad and needed to be cleaned again. We were given an estimate of $300-700... We decided to wait on it and the following year we took him to Carver Lake Vet again. This time they warned us that his teeth were in severe danger. We received a quote of $700-1600 to clean his teeth.... Theyve called and emailed us to get this scheduled and cited a fear that he will lose several of his teeth. We shopped around to another vet and they were able to perform the cleaning for $240. The other vet stated that while my dogs teeth needed to be cleaned, he wasnt in any danger of losing the teeth. Driving 20 minutes outside the city can save you a LOT of money. **EDIT** After considering my one star review I think its best to change it to a 3-star review. The facility is VERY NICE and FRIENDLY, but their prices were not competitive with other vets that were just a short drive away.

Took our cat in for a general checkup and when he was out of our sight he was injured at this clinic. There are several other reviews that talk about the staff removing the animals from the exam room for shots, etc., with similar things happening. Had to take our cat to an emergency clinic to deal with a deep cut in his paw that was not there before the visit here. The staff vehemently denied anything happened and refused to take any responsibility. They did make sure to inquire about scheduling a teeth cleaning, even though we were dealing with daily antibiotics, pain meds and wearing a cone 24/7. We spoke directly to the owner of the clinic and she also would not take any responsibility and said, "s--t happens". I have to add that almost immediately upon talking to her she said, "I suppose I cant stop you from suing us." I never mentioned anything about suing anyone. We encurred over $500 for the emergency visit at another 24hour clinic. We have reported this clinic to the veterinary board.

The facility is always clean and tidy. The staff is awesome. They not only show genuine interest in the pets but the owner as well. When I bring in my cat I feel welcomed the moment I walk in the door. The doctors are clearly intelligent and keep pet owners well informed both on what they are doing with your pet at the appointment and what will happen next, even if your pet appears to be healthy. They also keep in contact after appointments - both in email and phone. My cat had some eye issues and the doctor called a few days later just to check in. Great place to bring your animals. Priced moderately but still affordable, but would you go to a doctor because it was cheap or would you see the doctor that provided quality service? Your pets health is worth it.

Took my dog here ONCE for puppy shots because I moved and it was closest. They gave me a detailed estimate on what it would cost to have her spayed. Shes a 40lb german shorthaired pointer, should have been nothing crazy. ALMOST $900 TO HAVE HER SPAYED. I seriously almost choked when they showed me the estimate. All of the stuff they have listed is required too so you dont have a choice. Im sorry but that is simply outrageous. I went to a vet in Hudson and had her spayed AND got her hips xrayed for $215. BEWARE AND DEFINITELY SHOP AROUND! Just cause a place is clean and "friendly" should not cost an additional fee!!!!

My husband and I recently adopted a Belgian Malinois who is scared of everyone but us. The staff were very patient and friendly and by the end of our appointment my boy was taking treats from Kelly- the vet tech who worked with us. Some of the procedures/shots may or may not be overpriced- I am not sure- but I will say, if they are- it is worth it for the experience. Dr. Ed took the time to answer questions and discuss options with me and Kelly provided me with pamphlets to determine which procedures would be right for my dog. We will definitely be going back!
