I have used this veterinary clinic for more than 15 years, and I will never give my business to any other clinic. Their prices are the lowest you will find anywhere. A few years ago when I brought a kitty in to be neutered, I called that afternoon to check on him. She put the phone aside to ask the vet how he was doing, and I heard her say "Thomass mom is on the phone, she needs an update on his surgical status". I do not have human children, and I consider my pets to be my kids. So it was so nice to hear her refer to me as his mom. And in my experience with them, this is exactly how they treat every single patient; theyre treated as very valuable and cherished members of our families. About 8 years ago, my cat Thomas was stung by an insect under his chin. It was a Sunday afternoon and I began to panic when I realized that his throat was swelling and his breathing was very labored. At that time, I didnt realize that he had been stung by an insect; I only knew that he was having trouble breathing. I called the animal ER in Woolmarket and described his symptoms. I told her that I only had $250 to my name and Id spend every penny to get Thomas immediate medical care. Her response was "honey, for $250 all we can do is put him down for you". I hung the phone up on her, and spent that Sunday night with Thomas in my lap, struggling to breathe, with my hand under his chin trying to help hold his airway open. I called every single vet in the phonebook, to listen to each of their answering machines outgoing messages to find out which vet opened up the earliest. A half hour before the 1st vet opened, I raced down to their office and pounded on the door. Two ladies were standing behind the desk, just watching me as I held my sweet baby while he struggled for air. They didnt open the door to let me in until the office officially opened. I ran in, explained the situation, and I was told "$250 wont even cover the lab work and xrays, but we can put him down for you ". I ran out of the office, and even though Gpt Animal Hospital didnt open for another half hour, I raced there and stood outside the door waiting for them to open. Within minutes, one of the ladies behind the desk noticed Thomas and me and she ran to the door, unlocked it, and grabbed Thomas from me am raced to one of the exam rooms while yelling for the doctor. I went to the desk and explained his symptoms. Looking back now, I couldve avoided all of this by simply giving him liquid Benedryl, but at that time I had no idea that animals could take human Benedryl. I had called my cousin Rachael in the middle of the night to beg her to loan me money so that I could race him to the animal ER, bit she was asleep and her ringer was turned off. Not long after I got to the vets office, she called me to ask which vets office I was at, and told me she would be there soon with more cash. So the vet determined that Thomas had been stung by a bee or other insect, and he gave him 3 injections which began to work almost immediately. He then mixed the 3 meds together, and gave me enough medication to give him an injection twice a day for 10 days. He also gave me 20 syringes and needles, and showed me how to administer the injections. When Thomas and I got to the front desk to check out, Rachael was there in the lobby waiting for us. She handed me $200 in cash to add to my $250. And then the receptionist says "That will be $27.50". I stood there shocked. The animal ER and the other vets office wouldnt offer any kind of medical intervention for $250, and this doctor at Gpt Animal Hospital just saved my babys life and only charged me $27.50 for the visit, 10 days worth of medication (3 different types of meds, at that), 20 syringes and 20 needles. This is why I will never ever take my pets to any other vet. Its very rare these days to find a good vet who is much more interested in the health and well being of their furry patients, than in how much money they can make off each of us. I know this review is VERY long, but I felt this experience needed to be shared.

My mother has been with Dr. Geotes for nearly 20 years. I myself have been with him and this clinic for 11 years. When Geotes was an active veterinarian, it was a wonderful experience. Since his retirement, it has not been. I recently had a horse get a hole in his shoulder. On Thursday morning, I spoke to the clinic and was told someone would be out after 3pm. Nobody showed, so I called the office first thing this morning. At this point, I was told someone would be out this afternoon after 5pm and that they would call me before then to give me a more exact time. The reason for the later time was due to the fact that my horse was currently stationed in Carriere, where he has been for the past 6 years and been cared for by Geotes. At 4:58pm I had yet to hear from the clinic, so I called them. It was only then that I was informed that they would not do the call and to find another veterinarian. I was told how leaving before patients were gone would cost them money, how the receptionist was supposed to call me long before then and tell me and how it was all ok though because Dr Jodi (I cant even spell his last name) chewed her out for it and they had a list of cell numbers for other veterinarians I could use. This really made me feel like my animals meant that little to these veterinarians that are now working there. Geotes had a passion and care for the animals and his customers as well. These are just in it for money, and after 11 years of loyalty, several thousand dollars spent here, my animals didnt even mean enough for them to just say they didnt want to from the beginning. Over 24 hours my horse needed veterinarian care and they could care less. I had to go through a list of refusals from vets I didnt know to finally found one who did. I live just a few blocks from this clinic and have 6 dogs, 3 cats, and 2 horses that has been under their care. I will no longer use them as I cant trust they truly care about the well being of my 4 legged family members. If your animals are like family to you, dont take them here to any of these doctors. Its really a shame they dont have the love and passion that Geotes did.

Been coming here for 9 years and will never return. Pure scmbags now. I took my 6 y/o Boston Terrier girl here yesterday and paid $40 to have her seen because she wasnt feeling well, shaking, had light blood in her urine, and was peeing uncontrollably. They told me it was a UTI and sent us away with antibiotics. That night, she started puking massive amounts of white foam, bleeding from her back end, and was having major stomach contractions. I stayed up until I couldnt stay up with her anymore then fell asleep. There was no emergency vet within 70 miles of me and it didnt start until about 3am so I decided to take her in the morning. When I woke up the next morning she couldnt move. She was laying on her side, breathing erratically, eyes bloodshot, and shaking all over with her arms and legs stiff and stuck out. I rushed her to these guys again, since they had seen her yesterday. She was in critical condition. They told me they would treat her but needed to figure out the problem. They recommended an X-Ray over bloodwork, claiming this would most likely find the problem. It didnt. So then they asked me to pay for bloodwork, which I didnt physically have the money for. I already spent my last $140 here between the first and second visit. I asked if theyd at least do the bloodwork and let me pay them tomorrow so I could take her to an emergency vet. They refused, took my last $97 and sent us away with a critical dog. These people dont care about your animals, they only care about your money. Have been faithful to this place for 9 years and always paid what I owed, and the one time I didnt physically have it they turned away my dog who is in critical condition. These people WILL let your dogs DIE if you dont have the money up front. Never go here.
