I took my previously healthy 6 year old kitty in twice when he obviously wasnt feeling well - having them perform tests (over $1000 worth) to try to figure out what was wrong. Less than 2 hours before the second visit, I learned that my Dad died so was there in tears, telling them that Leo was still sick, Id be happy to sign whatever they needed to give them permission to do more tests to get to the bottom of it, but that I really needed it to be on an "in-patient" basis as I had to get on a plane because of my Dads death and I live alone - no one would be home to watch him. They insisted they didnt board animals and while theyd be happy to do more tests, Id have to take him elsewhere for boarding. I was obviously distraught and didnt have time to take him anywhere else, get records switched over or have the same tests done by someone else. I signed for more tests - which were inconclusive - and made arrangements to have a friend who regularly cat sits for me pick him up. Two days later she found him dead at home. I will never go to another vet that isnt capable or willing to take an animal in for boarding and further observation when they havent diagnosed the problem - even when I am here! And Truesdell was totally deaf to my very obvious stress and unique circumstance. Leo was an amazing mamas boy and might be alive today if they were willing to work with me. He is missed.

I started with Truesdell 21 years ago when I bought a new puppy and wanted to get his health checked out. This clinic was recommended so I went. From that very first visit so long ago, to current day, I have never once regretted that decision! For the 15 years of my first dogs life and now on year 6 with my second dog, there is literally no other clinic I would even think of going to. Every single doctor, every technician and all the wonderful girls at the check in desk, treat us like were their only client. they come out and give my dog hugs, and treats and the doctors go above and beyond in my book for medical care. After any kind of medical treatment, they do numerous follow ups between phone calls and emails and are there for you. They give a full detailed explanation of what type of care my dog needs, gives me an cost estimate sheet before hand and as mentioned, have truly gone beyond standard care in some isolated cases to find a cure for my pet. (my first dog had tremendous stomach issues in later years) It doesnt matter if were there for a simple nail trim, or a full on health visit, everyone is fantastic! I recommend them every time I meet someone in need of a top quality veterinary clinic. My hats off to Dr. Tom and his entire staff!

I dont often write reviews for places, but this place and these people deserve it! They are exceptional! I took my cat in for tooth extraction and it turned out she was pregnant. The Dr. Heide Meier did some research on the possibilities and was very open and available while deciding what to do. The tooth surgery was done and couldnt have gone more smoothly, thanks to Dr. Meiers expertise and knowledge. Throughout my cats pregnancy, Dr. Susan Jeffrey, our primary vet at the clinic, was INCREDIBLY helpful and available. As a concerned, first time owner of a pregnant cat, I could not have asked for better communication. Dr. Jeffrey was knowledgeable and present throughout the pregnancy. Overall, the entire staff was very involved and excited for us and our expecting cat. They shared the experience with us and we could not have done it without them! The kitten was born and everything is going swimmingly. Well always bring our pets here as long as were in Madison!

I have been going to Truesdell for over 25 years now, it was only a little whole in the wall next to the Cottage Cafe. It may have moved and grown but the personal aspect is what keeps me going there. The staff has always been so warm and friendly and always takes the time to check in with me and my furry pals. During all these years we have had a lot of good times and of course some very sad times too. They have always been there with their full support for me and that is something that comes from caring not just business. I know a lot of human medical professionals that should come and learn what it means to really care about patients and their family. I have 3 dogs and 3 cats now and I will be coming to Turesdells for as long as they will have me. Thank you all for doing a great job but mostly for really caring!!!

I should have seen the red flags before we even met the vetrinarian. The vet tech was very standoffish and conplained when our dog got near her--she didnt want her scrubs to get blood on them. ... yeah, take a moment to think about that. Next I was told by the vet that we should not be the owner of our pup and continued to humiliate us with an air of arrogance and couldnt stop pouring out judgmental comments. You are a vet, not an animal behaviorist expert; stick to your field, please. They then misquoted our bill by $500 and charged us extra because they were not experienced in restraining a dog. Ive gone through vet tech school myself and this boggles my mind to no end. When I come to a doctor I want treatment... not judgement and arrogance. I would not recommend this place to any lovingly pet parent.

I have taken my furry friends to Truesdell Animal Care Hospital for over 6 years now. We have been very impressed with all of the staff there. Everyone exhibits a positive and friendly attitude towards humans and animals. Dr. Heidi, Dr. Tom and Dr. Brittany have all been great docs and the vet tech staff members are very knowledgable and sharp - it all makes for an A+ Team! This has been important and reassuring with several of my aging pets and they were all great during tough times - including with end of life issues. Dr. Susan is a more recent addition to this team and has already left a positive impression on me and my cat - showing that the high quality of docs there continues! Dr. White was friendly, efficient, and decisional when I brought my cat in on a Friday afternoon. Her confidence in decision-making made it easy to trust her clinical judgment for appropriate treatment. She made sure to lay out the various courses of treatment dependent on test results, explained the background of the issue to me, and made an action plan with me with regard to continued care over the weekend. The tech staff were all very well informed, very helpful in answering questions, and I was well prepared to nurse my pet at home following his procedure. We were in and out of kitty "urgent care" within a couple of hours with meds and feeling much better! Love these folks - have never had a better vet.
