We adopted a Yorkshire Terrier a few months ago, actually found him randomly. A girl I work with was very into pit bulls and through a 3rd party, she brought this little 2.5lb dog into work. He had mats all over him and seemed to be quite emaciated. Immediately we became best friends. He followed me around all day and I asked the girl if I could take him home and introduce him to my girlfriends chihuahua. The second he came into our home I knew he belonged there. Turns out he lived with 2 pit bulls since he was a puppy. He was scared of everything and about half the weight he should have been. Six months later hes almost 5 lbs and very social. We started noticing he was having a tough time chewing his food and his breath, very acutely, turned quite fowl. We scheduled an appointment to get his shots current and have his teeth cleaned as when we started looking into his mouth (which he made very difficult) we saw some bad signs. Five hours after I had dropped him off at the Superior Vet, they called with some very bad news. He had a severe infection in his lower jaw bone that was at its worst. He had significant bone loss and had most likely been living the last 1-2 months in extreme pain (but he is the happiest dog all the time!) We had no idea. He lost 21 teeth and had to have wires installed to support his jaw bone. Have you ever had a bad toothache. Its the worst pain in the world. Now multiply that by almost every tooth you have. It was sheer luck that we took him to Superior Vet as this was our first visit. To find a vet that was as qualified and confident as Dr. Otto was exactly what was required to save Ozzys life. He has been working in this field for over 20 years and we are so grateful for his dedication. Even when Ozzy managed to tear out his stitches and his jaw bone became visible, Dr. Otto came in very early on a Sunday morning to care for him. Superior Veterinary Clinic is our new Vet for both of our dogs. We are so grateful that Ozzy can now live a pain free life and although he has a long road to recovery, we are extremely confident with the hands weve put him in. Thanks again Dr. Otto.

Just recently I had an issue with my oldest dog Thurmon. He became ill over the weekend after having his teeth cleaned at another clinic. The other clinic was not at fault but when Thurm became sick I didnt want to take him to the emergency vet because they didnt know Thurm. I chose to bite the bullet and call Dr. Otto (who I have known all my life) knowing that he could have told me to go back to the other clinic. (He had a right to) but he didnt. He admitted Thurm for a day and evening watched him closely, kept me updated and when I brought Thurm home I have received phone calls everyday checking in on him. Now, you may be saying "Youve known him all your life, why wouldnt he go the extra mile?" Well folks, the Otto and Spangler families do not work that way. Everyone NO matter who you are gets equal treatment. That I can guarantee you. You may be asking why I went to the other clinic. Dr. Otto was not in Lincoln when I got any of the 3 dogs I have. I choose to support Superior and the other clinic. Superior has replaced the hip of my youngest dog, dealt with numerous issues with my other 2 dogs over the years with a positive outcome every time. It is a hard decision to make as you realize that if something goes wrong it could hurt our friendship, but I have every confidence in Dr. Otto and my dogs have benefited from Superior Veterinary Clinic

Boarding: I have used their animal boarding this past year. It was affordable and from my experience they did a great job at making my pets feels better about being away from home and didnt mind me calling to check in, which I did a lot. :) Grooming: I absolutely love their groomer! She does an amazing job on my animals. She really takes the time to go at the pace that is best for them to make it less stressful on them. I have used other groomers in the past but none as amazing or as caring as her. Vet care: I dont have much experience with their veterinary care however a few years ago I had to bring my dog in for an eye problem. They never seen us before but my regular vet at the time was closed so we came here. They really seemed to listen to me and wrote down my dogs history which most vets dont even seem to look at twice. I was highly impressed and felt my dog was getting great care. I really feel that all the staff I have interacted with here have a deep caring for my animals and I have recommended others bring their pets here as well for that reason. Though I wish they were closer to my house the care my pets get here while borading and getting groomed is well worth the drive.

We really liked the previous owners of Superior Vet Care, but we soon found ourselves impressed by Dr. Otto and his crew, too. Dr. Otto has been great with our four dogs over the years. He definitely knows his stuff. If a pet is older or hasnt had a particular test in a while, he makes sure to check it out before administering a medicine or anaesthetic that could cause inadvertent harm. Hes usually spot-on with his diagnoses, and he explains things to us very well. As for his friendly staff, they always carry heavy sacks of dog food out to our car. They also send out reminder cards for immunizations, and they give us follow-up calls after an appointment to see how our pets are responding to treatment. Oh, and they give us free dog food and maintenance meds (such as heartworm treatments) after every so many purchases. But most of all, Dr. Otto came in late at night on a weekend for us when our oldest dogs health finally failed. That level of commitment keeps us coming back.

We had been taking our boxer Corbin to a different vet for several years. He suddenly started displaying strange symptoms, and after three different visits to our regular vet they still never mentioned checking out what we suspected to be a brain tumor. That weekend, Corbins condition quickly worsened leading to grand mal seizures. After getting in touch with Dr. Otto and explaining these symptoms to him, he immediately confirmed our suspicions of strokes and a possible brain tumor. After talking with another doctor at Superior, we decided it was best to put Corbin down. The staff there was so caring and understanding, even though I was a blubbering mess. A week later, we received a sympathy card in the mail and also a paw print they took of Corbin. We have been so touched by their caring kindness and sympathy that we will now be taking our other dog to Superior Vet Care from now on. Thank you, Dr. Otto!

We love Superior Vet! Dr. Walton and the staff have just been awesome. Last November we had to make the difficult decision to put our beloved 7-year-old dog to sleep as she had lymphoma. We will never forget the kindness and support we received from everyone at Superior Vet. They were professional, comforting and helpful in so many ways. They treated us like family and even grieved with us. Until you experience this type of loss, you have no idea how horrible it is and having Superior Vet help us through this time will never be forgotten. We now have a new puppy who has had a few emergency trips to the clinic. The last time we had to take her in (she was spitting up blood), we didnt even get out of the car before a staff member was meeting us and whisking us into a room to see the vet. From the staff to Dr. Walton, we feel very confident that our four-legged kids have the best of care!
