While Dr. Yach is one of the best vets I have come across in my 50 years of a multiple pet home, the constant $$$$$$$ is off putting. On EVERY occasion that my dogs or cat visited and had surgery I was quoted one price and arrived later that day to pick animal up to be told it was at least 3 times higher. On the last occasion I was told it would be $400. I arrived to get a bill totaling $1400. For a dental cleaning. The third in six months so not a lot of big tooth pulling...... I complained that I did not have $1400 on me as I had expected it to be $400. I was told I could pay it off. $100 a month interest. My 3 dogs were extremely sick after a kennel stay and I took them in and waited an hour and a half when Hospital Admin Julie Johnson walked in and loudly told me I could not be seen as I had an outstanding account. I advised I wanted to pay cash for the visit and then pay $300 off my account. It was late in the day by then and my dogs were VERY sick with extreme vomiting and diarrhea. I was told I would have to take them to another vet as I could not be seen until my account was up to date. Angry I made no attempt to pay the $300 off the account until the following month when I called. I was told - again by Julie Johnson - that I had to pay the full amount or they would add the $500 odd amount of interest on and she would not take the $300 payment. Next month I tried to pay $500 off the $677 amount - again they would not take the payment unless I paid the entire amount. Today I received an aggressive letter telling me to take my business elsewhere - even though I had found another vet in January. I called the hospital and said I would pay the bill in full but was still not happy about the constant overcharges. Now told that I had to go into the hospital in person - pay the account in person - because they needed to see ID and my drivers license...even though I had been a client for 3 years....... New vet always charges me what he quotes, never have to sit for an hour in the waiting room and had my new rescue neutered for $40 and the Spay and Neuter clinic instead of here for $350. Julie Johnson you are RUDE rude rude.......

I went to this place considering the good reviews. After my first visit, I quickly changed my mind. The staff at this vet is the worst I have ever had contact with. They talk to you as if their snobs from Beverly Hills. Dr. B compared my sick dog to a car and said if your dog doesn’t have this surgery he will die. I argued that the amount they were charging is completely outrageous so she told me well then take your dog home and watch him die. WOW! What compassion they have there? I thought vets were kind and generous people. I guess I had it all wrong. She said to me we have plenty of cases that come in here and don’t make it. I felt like my dog was a big dollar sign and the lady had the nerve to talk back to me. Im paying your paycheck lady so until Im done needing your services you should at least offer decent Customer Service. If it were not for patients, THERE WOULD BE NO PAYCHECK! We are the reason you pay your bills. If you cant stand to see animals die or in pain than it looks like YOU chose the wrong profession. On my Final visit to take my dogs stitches out. I again asked yet another HORRIBLE doctor to take a look at my dogs teeth considering when he was sick he threw up multiple times I was concerned about the enamel erosion. I wanted to make sure it did not need immediate attention. The doctor said oh just make sure you brush your dogs teeth. I asked him did he look at the teeth and he said Im not risking my precious hands over a dog that is barking and growling. My dog is not aggressive nor has he ever bit anyone. My dog was terrified to be there thinking that they were going to hurt him he tried to defend himself. I would highly recommend that if you love your animal and DO NOT want the worst service EVER than visit another vet clinic. Hope this all helps you in your search for a good vet.

My cat got sick right before Thanks giving. My regular vet would be closed so I was forced to bring him into West Flamingo Animal hospital. I would start saying that the hospital looks very nice but they made me wait with my cat for over an hour in a small room. After the vet showed up, she did an examination and suggested the treatment. That would be 1 day of hospitalisation and the rest 4 days of boarding. I was worried to death for my best friend and I would call the hospital at all the time to check on his condition and they would answer me that he is doing great and that he has great appetite, that he was not sneezing or coughing. On Monday when I came to pick him up, I was put in a small room where the technician came with my cat, the technician was literally being ill, she was coughing at all the time and that made me very uncomfortable and concerned (I didnt want to catch a cold that she had). She said that my cat is doing great and that nobody saw him coughing or sneezing. She explained me how to use prescribed medication. As soon as I brought him home he was coughing non stop and sneezing alot. So my question is: how much time did they ever spent with my cat in order not being able to notice that he was not feeling good????As he was having a bad appetite they prescribed a medicine to stimulate it, as soon as it was done, his appetite was returned to the same point, because they were not treating the main cause but only covering the symptoms. I am not saying that they charge me over 500 dollar. But for what? I had to take my cat to my regular vet and now he is finally feeling good. I will never go back to West Flamingo animal hospital again. All I got was the feeling that they WERE MAKING MONEY INSTEAD OF HELPING!!!!!!!

I am one of those people that reads reviews online before I go ANYWHERE, so when I moved here in December I was very nervous about finding a good vet for my 2 weenie dogs (my kids!). My little boy dog knocked a front tooth loose playing outside in February, so I was forced to take him to the vet emergency room. West Flamingo Animal Hospital was the closest, and I am SO glad I went there. They were busy with appointments, but they took one look at my dog (who was FREAKING out over his loose tooth) and immediately took us in to see the doctor. We had Dr. Miller, and she was wonderful. She was very calm and soft-spoken and seemed to truly care about our little guy. She looked at it and said that there wasnt any real damage and it didnt look like he needed any kind of surgery (she tried to save us money!). She pulled the tooth quickly and continued to give him the full once over (took his temp, looked in hisears, listened to his heart, etc). She was very thorough, and even though I know she had a lot of ther patients that had appointments waiting, she did not rush us at all and answered all of our questions. The receptionists cooed over our dog when he came out saying "Awwww poor baby!" and they showered him with affection (to his utter delight of course; hes such a ham!). Not once did they try to sell me something I didnt need, and the damage for pulling the tooth and some antibiotics was only $65. Not bad at all. I have moved to the Green Valley area since then, and after reading all the terrible reviews for the vets nearby, I am convinced that I will just need to make the drive to Dr. Miller when I need a vet that cares!
