AVOID this place at all costs. BIGGEST red flag: when a dentist insists and is pushy about taking x-rays. X-rays are a technical charge for the dentist, which means they make a lot of money taking x-rays on unsuspecting people who may not always need them. Problem is x-rays have risks, including a (small) chance of a "second malignancy" ie the xrays causing a cancer many years down the road (im a radiation doctor so I know). Healthy people with good hygiene dont need yearly x-rays (the ADA recommends it across the board, but then of course they do, its a conflict of interest, its how they make $$). We recently moved to Monroe and wanted to find a good family dentist. When you transfer your care here they INSIST on a full set of x-rays and a doctor exam and will NOT schedule an appt with the hygenist at the same visit. They dont tell you this when you make the appt. My poor wife showed up there thinking she was going to get a cleaning and they were like "the hygenist doesnt come in today". They tried to push her to take the xrays (we brush 2x per day, floss daily, and mouthwash daily, we havent had cavities since we were teenagers). Thankfully she had the good sense to walk out of there, and change dentists. I decided to stick with them for at least one visit and was on the road from work to get to my appointment but decided to call to see if I was going to see the hygenist at my appt. I got the whole "the doctor will evaluate you and we will take xrays at todays visit". I told them I dont do xrays for the reasons above. "If you want to be a patient here you have to do things the way we do them"...exact quote. Even told her I had my last films from my prior dentist, including a full post-invisalign set..they didnt care. "the hygenist is not in today." I asked if i can reschedule to a time when i can see the doctor and hygenist at the same time. was told no, because i had rescheduled too many times (twice before this conversation). My take: they are all exceptionally rude, and the dentist herself sets the tone (she talked to my wife at her visit...and she sounded arrogant and really pleased with herself (surprising considering she trained at UMDNJ, which isnt exactly an Ivy league place)...it was not the most personable interaction. Only the hygenist seemed to be nice. I did read some reviews on this dentist/office before picking it and its seems they are nice some of the time and bitchy at other times. In this time of dentists everywhere, i suggest picking a place where all of the people are nice all of the time and they dont try to bully you into getting x-rays (great $$ for the dentist, not always good for the patient). (note: if you dont take care of your teeth or are someone who will not followup with your dentist routinely, you probably should get xrays. Im just not that person, and theres no way im getting unnecessary xrays. Also they have limited appointments and their "summer hours" really suck, good luck getting an appt. Find someone with convenient hours (including late hours) and someone who is really nice, thats all you need in a general dentists office, its not like theyre doing major surgery or treating cancer.

I have been going to Dr Kamel for almost 2 years. Up until 4/27/16, all was fine. On this date I was told I needed to get a referral for a periodondist. I told the receptionist that my husband would call for details on what is needed. Unfortunately, when he called, the person working at the desk said she could not give any information to him without my consent, even though I was just at the office and gave them permission. She would not give him any info and spoke to him in a rude and disrespectful manner. I then called to find out what was happening and again was rudely greeted.. Dr Kamel may be a fine dentist but her staff is very poor at speaking to people. My husband and I pay the bills here, not the office and we need to get answers to potential medical issues and treated with respect. When I told her I will go elsewhere, she said go ahead. I feel ashamed that I ever had any procedures done at this place and paid money to a dental office that has no idea on how to talk with customers. Avoid this place, there are many other options in the area.

It is very difficult to get an appointment for this dental office. They are not available on Monday or Friday and very difficult to get an appointment on Saturday. It is almost impossible to get an appointment for next 2/3 months and they never come back if the appointment slots open up. If there is some additional work other than cleaning the will then give the appnt! It is the first dentist that asked me for deep cleaning and did not went for regular cleaning .. in-spite of my repeated insistence. They tried to prove in such a way that it sounds logical...the bottom-line is they want to get more money from insurance and copay. Also, I have not seen any dentist office that take so many x-rays- again a trap to get more money from insurance. On the other hand the staff is courteous and have state of the art of facility.

Not good experience at all, My first visit was ok they suggested me to do deep cleaning which will take 45 -50 mins.. However it was not part of my dental plan which i accepted to do and they gave me appointment within three days , I was in the clinic I paid the charges and found that that my appointment was not scheduled for deep cleaning it was moreover gum cleaning and stain on my tooth it was very disappointing you are saying somthing at first visit and then doing somthing on second visit, which is very insane Well in second appointment they clean stains on my tooth which took only 15 -20 mins ..I ll not recommend this dental office to anyone and guys beware with this people

My experience here was WAY different than the previous review. The staff and Dr Kamel were all very helpful and understanding of my dental needs. I called and was able to get in that week after work. They were very accommodating and my next appointment I had they were able to make on a Saturday. I was not pressured to take any x-rays. I actually had a set from my previous dentist, and brought them with me. There is obviously more to "Raddocs" story that he is willing to admit.

I have never been more comfortable at a Dentists office before. The staff and Dr. Kamel are excellent. They are always concerned about your well being, are down to earth and never let you leave without know exactly what was done and what needs to be done. I went in for a root canal, scared to death, but left the office calm. No pain EVER during the proceedure. I actually cant wait unitl I go again.
