I am early in pregnancy....9.5 weeks to be exact. I came to the ER Saturday because of spotting and cramping. I know it is common, but wanted to be sure. Had blood taken and an ultrasound. The doctor on staff, Dr. Patel, (who is not even an obgyn) did not once even see me. He sat out at the island the whole time. I saw nurses. The nurse comes in and says the doctor saw "part of a baby" and I am having a miscarriage. First off, I was watching the screen as the ultrasound was being done and I dont know how they seen anything...it was almost pitch black. This is my 3rd, I know what Im looking at. They didnt tell me the total count of my hcg quantitive blood test, and then when I look at the paperwork they gave me, it said Im 12 weeks based on what I said. Um noooooo. I said I am 9 weeks. I use the period app and record dates for everything. So no wonder the baby looked small to them. They messed up my gestation dates!! They didnt even do a heart beat doppler to be sure. I am waiting for my health insurance cobra to turn on. Im on unpaid leave as of 9/16 for care of another child and have the the best insurance company...but they put me down as no insurance which is why Im sure I was treated with such disregard from the doctor. Then, they tell me to call some health start clinic, which I call today and they had me calling a surgery clinic!! So you have my dates wrong, didnt do proper testing, just assumed Im miscarrying, and now are making me arrange to have a d&c??!! Then I realize that this is some clinic in the middle of nasty trenton for poor people and I have insurance!!!!! And a high paying job!!!! Im so upset and thinking this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. If I didnt have the common sense that I have, if I didnt notice when things are not right, if I didnt ask questions and put 2 and 2 together, I might be allowing them to end up having me abort my baby unknowingly!! Ill go to this clinic simply because they know whats going on and my obgyn has no availability this week and I want answers asap. The nurse at the ER said im just grieving. Really I am not...I have a baby at home...I just want peace of mind. My calm has been disrupted and I dont like it. I came to capital health when there are 2 other hospitals closer to me because I thought they were reputable. I was going to choose capital as where I wish to deliver my baby. Boy was I wrong.

STAY AWAY!!!! Worst ER ever, my first visit i was 7 weeks pregnant and having problems. The nurse i had was atrocious, never cracked a smile or said hello and tried to put an IV in my hand that hurt SO badly and left a HUGE bruise on my hand. Had to tell her that i was a good stick in my arm and why would she just go right for my hand? My room was dirty and the only good thing was the on call OB Dr. Bluebond, he took great care of me and seemed to care. My second visit i was almost 12 weeks, waited in the ER for almost 2 hours while I was bleeding so heavily it was running down my legs and was in the worst pain of my life I was screaming and doubled over in pain. They gave me 3 pads and told me it "sucked" what i was going through, kept telling me they didnt know when I could be seen and they DIDNT care either. After 2 hours I really thought i was dying or very sick because of all the blood, so i told the ER nurse I was leaving and that they should be ashamed of how they were treating a pregnant woman who was bleeding and in excruciating pain. I left and went to St. Marys in Langhorne and was taken back and seen within 15 minutes of arrival, the ER there had just as many people waiting as they did at Capitol but they knew i was very sick and took me right back. I did lose my baby that day, which was no ones fault BUT the treatment i got a Capitol was atrocious, I will never go back there and will tell as many people as i can how horrible they are. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the hospital AND with the proper regulatory agencies in NJ.

Imagine my surprise when reading a four-page spread today in the Times of Trenton describing, among other achievements, a new patient flow process in the ER. Its an admirable goal, but clearly has not yet been achieved. How does 9pm to 5am sound for the Push to Full process? This past Wednesday evening, May 14th, at 9pm, when I began to experience sudden, incapacitating waves of pain in the lower left side of my back, I came to the Hopewell branch ER with my husband in hopes of speedy attention and treatment. I got neither. We waited approximately 1.5 hours for the triage person, then another several hours, while I was writhing in pain in the waiting room, to have a bed. After that, it was some time before a nurse appeared to take blood and urine samples, and even more time before I saw a physician, who then ordered x-rays and CAT scan. This also took time. At some point well into my stay, a nurse administered morphine, for which I was most grateful. More waiting. Finally, the physician came back with my diagnosis and prescribed medication. I was discharged at 5am on the morning of the 15th, an 8-hour experience. Each of the professionals I saw was pleasant and helpful, but there were too few of them. Rather than spending thousands of dollars on newspaper ads, I suggest that the hospital spend more of its money or increased staffing and beds in the ER. I had the impression that the hospital was like a fancy ghost town: expensive buildings, empty of the staff and facilities needed to make the ER experience a bearable one.

Im going to be honest hospital has some good qualities and bad qualities number one the building looks beautiful it makes you feel like a hotel instead of an actual Hospital which is very good now on the professional standpoint this Hospital has a handful of brilliant doctors and nurses that honestly do take care of every patient to the full extent of their needs with a very good portion of knowledge added on the other hand besides the handful a very good ones there are bad ones as well you literally only look at their career for the money and dont really take time to care for the patients as well as they should and honestly it looks like their degree was passed down from and honestly it looks like their degree was literally only fought for in school but never really used in their career at all if this Hospital follows the influence of their handful of well knowledged polite doctors and nurses this hospital will be very successful in the long run and I advised that they do follow the influence that they have of those doctors and nurses because the experiences we had with them with those such as people was extremely better than past experiences so my advice to Capital Health keep those great doctors and get rid of the ones that dont set your standards hi the handful that you guys have are fantastic
