DISHONEST, ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, HEARTLESS Its been quite a few years since I brought my cat here and even then I wished I could stand in front of this place and at least warn eveyone about my experience here. It just occurred to me that I now have the opportunity to share this experience. Its a long story but Ill stick to whats important. My cat wasnt eating so we brought her here for help as it is very close to our house. They said they would need to do extensive testing on her to find out what was wrong. They gave us a price of over $800 dollars. We dropped off an active girl who simply hadnt been eating. The next day they said we should pick her up while waiting for the results. We were anxious to get her home so I went to get her before I had to go to work. Of course the first order of business was to get their 800 dollars which I gave them. The nurse brought our little girl out already packed in a carrier box. Never showed her to me and quite honestly I had to get to work so I didnt get a good look at her until I got home. I was shocked by her condition she was obviously very ill but even then I thought it was that she had been through a lot with the testing and staying there overnight so I put her on my bad and went to work as my husband and 3 young children were going to be home shortly. When they got home not more than a couple hours later (get well kitty gifts in hand) she had made her way to my sons bed and died there by herself. They didnt have the decency to tell me she wouldnt live out the day when they most certainly knew. THEY WANTED THEIR MONEY! Hind sight is 20/20, Looking back I realized that that woman that handed me that cat in that box knew she was going to die. Their goal was to get me to pay that bill and pick up that cat before it died. My children were heartbroken and tramautized. The next day we were given some bologna story about the cat having some rare disease and blah blah blah. The point is they traumatized my family so they could make their 800 dollars. We now have a wonderful dog that we love very much. I have a Vet who truly cares for him and I guarantee you That this man would NEVER do such a thing. He truly cares for the animals and families above the almighty dollar.

Brought my new cat here who I adopted from Petsmart 3 weeks before. She had been throwing up sporadically but showed no other symptoms. Dr. Scriff (who I saw at the Montclair office ) didnt take any fecal or blood test to test for parasites or bacteria. He went straight for the jugular and told me she needed a scope done at 1400.00, plus a biopsy for an extra charge. He first charged me for X-rays which ran me 400. He told me that both X-rays were inconclusive because there was still food in her stomach despite me not feeding her for 12 hours, making it "all the more urgent we get this scope into her stomach". I told him to get the X-rays on discs and I will pick them up. I got the discs over to Brookside Animal Hospital in Bloomfield. Dr. Samson was able to read the X-ray just fine and treated my cat accordingly. No scope. His prices were much more reasonable and he was much more knowledgeable and explained everything step by step without making your head spin. He will be my vet for as long as I have pets. My cat is doing great. Verona/Montclair animal hospital should take a page from dr. Samsons book and put the well-being of the animal first over the money.

I have been using Verona Animal Hospital and Dr. Scriff (as well as his associates) for 25+ years. My length of time at this office should speak for itself! Always outstanding veterinary care from general check ups, exams and vaccines to difficult cases and surgeries. Knowledgeable, kind, friendly and compassionate. They have helped me through all of the inevitable hard times with my pets. They have treated my dobermans as well as my cats over the years . In times of emergency we have always been offered an immediate appointment. Im very comfortable knowing they are there for the needs of my pets. The office atmosphere is clean and state of the art. Dr. Scriff, his associates and supporting staff are amazing! We (myself & my dogs) feel like family when we are there. My dogs actually ENJOY going to the vet, and they show it by greeting all of the staff with kisses :-)

Hands down one of the best vets Ive ever been too very honest and straight to the point they care very much for not only their patients and the owners of the animal highly impressed affordable and very persist they call you to make sure the pet is doing well and call u for results and they actually give u follow up appointments I love it here and tmy favor Dr is Dr.COLLETTE BLAZER she answered all my question and if she didnt know the answer she made sure to make it her business to find out and give u the correct answer .. thank u for everything .
