Will never use Whippany Vet again. My family took our yorkie here for his entire lifespan. Unfortunately, it was a poor choice. Whippany Vet is really in it for the money and not for the animals well being. Here is what happened. My family boarded our yorkie here so my parents could attend my wedding; just a single weekend event in TX. Our yorkie had diabetes and we were assured everything would be fine and he would get his regular injections. A decent vet would have suggested and even more so demanded 24hr monitoring, which surprise!, Whippany Vet does not offer. Instead they wanted our boarding fees in their pockets. Whether or not our yorkie received his injections, ( I strongly believe there is no way he could have, or they were done improperly ), he began having diabetic seizures overnight and was only found on the next shift barely alive choking to death in his own vomit. The attendant was kind enough to drive him to the emergency hospital, but this situation should have never occurred in the first place. We authorized any and all treatments that the emergency hospital asked for to attempt to save his life--no avail. My best friend died on my wedding day and I will never forget him or the huge guilt I feel for actually using and trusting Whippany Vet. Never again.

Whippany Veterinal Hospital has been absolutely fantastic every service they have provided for my 2 dogs. My pets have been through a lot and I give many thanks to Dr Ammeraal for treating my dogs. His treatment of their simple misfit illnesses as well as extensive illnesses has been outstanding. He is caring, thorough, takes the time to talk to you about options and diagnoses, expresses empathy during all situations and is obviously truly concerned about my dogs health. My pugs have been treated by him for everything from cancer, abscess surgery, to serious respiratory illness... and the obvious smaller things that happen. Dr Ammeraal takes the time to give you the options for treatment without pushing services that may not be needed. He is also not afraid to tell you when he feels he needs more information in order to provide the absolute best care for your pets condition. All of the staff is friendly and helpful. I appreciate that they also remember who I am when I call. Thank you Dr Ammeraal, Dr Smith and all the staff at Whippany Veterinary Hospital for providing fantastic, real and friendly service for my babies!

I have been taking my Pomeranian to Whippany Vet ever since I got him at 8 weeks old last spring. Both doctors and all of the staff members have been terrific. They are very knowledgeable; they patiently and thoroughly answer all of my questions and make suggestions regarding care and training; and they spend ample time with us. My little boy especially loves Dr. Loucks, who usually treats him. He likes her so much that hes actually happy when we go to the vet, even though he has gotten a lot of shots/vaccinations there. Recently, when my Pom reached 6 months old, he was neutered and Dr. Loucks performed the procedure. I was very worried about him going under the knife (any mother would be), and I hated the phrase "canine castration" on the form (Ewww!), but everything went smoothly. The surgery tech was wonderful and very caring and I brought my baby home that same day. Not with the usual lamp shade around his neck, but with the more comfortable inflatable collar, instead. My Pom healed very well and hes back to being his normally playful, bouncy self again. Its all good.

We have used Whippany Vet soley for the past 11 years. A more compassionate, caring and knoweldgeable vet does not exist. Dr. Smith is the best! She creates an environment of teamwork, which the pet owner and she are the key players. She listens to our concerns for our pets and doesnt miss a detail. She has gone the extra mile when our pets have been ill to ensure they are given the best possible care, and has always succeeded. Dr. Smith is right there with you every step of the way. Many vets after caring for a family member would hardly blink an eye when the decision to put a pet down is made, Dr. Smith, while emotionally invested with the owner provides her best assessment and supports the owner 100 percent during the pets life. Her practice is not a, "thanks and see the receptionist on the way out" place. It is an extension of your home and a place where your pets well being is the only concern. There are less expensive veterinarians out there, but for my money this is the place you want you pet to receive care at.

Until this time Ive been unable to write about this. In late May of 2010 I had both of my 10-yr old cats examined there. They were never sick a day in their lives and I was told after their exams that they were in excellent health but needed one or two teeth removed. The next week, on June 2, I dropped Sunshyne and Halford off early in the morning. I received a call early afternoon that Sunny was done and that Hal was next. I received a call at 7:00 p.m. that Hal was dead -- dead from what I knew then and know now after conferring with two other vets was from too much anasthesia -- I was in such shock that I paid them and they gladly accepted my $700+ and I left with Sunny and Hal in a box of ice. They are shameless, greedy phonies. I have yet to deal with them about this, but I will do so now that I can think about it clearly. Dont take any creature you love to them -- you are putting their lives and your heart in jeopardy.

I have been taking my miniature schnauzers to Dr. Smith and Dr. Loucks at Whippany Vet Hospital for over 12 years. Their staff are very polite, knowledgable and will spend whatever time you need to explain the care and condition of your pet. Dr. Smith and Dr. Loucks are both highly skilled and current on all dental procedures for your cat or dog. I moved to Pennsylvania 7 years ago and I still travel over an hour to bring my dogs to Dr. Smith. If you want the VERY best care for your four legged friend, I HIGHLY recommend you go the The Whippany Vet Hospital! They are outstanding!!!

Dr. Loucks and Smith have cared for our pets since we first adopted them. Unbeknownst to us, one of our cats came to us with FeL. The doctors diagnosed her and compassionately helped us care for her over the next year to the end. We moved since we first started going to this animal hospital, and it would make sense for us to switch vets to one that is closer, but after the care that they have given our pets, I just make the extra drive to keep going there. They are good with both animals and humans, so I recommend them without hesitation.

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE - Words cannot express how thankful I am to have a vets office like Whippany Vet. Your staff is incredibly warm and extremely friendly. You have all been extremely supportive through this difficult time of putting my cat Zachary down. You may not realize what a blessing you have all been and I just didnt want this to go unrecognized. Thanks for the personalized card, the footprint, and just the support. You have no idea how much you have all touched me. THANK YOU!
