We were referred to Dr. Campbell by our general dentist because our six-year old daughter had a cavity that needed filling. Having lived through several difficult experiences with other pediatric dentists with our older daughter, frankly I was dreading the visit. Dr. Campbell turned my opinion of pediatric dentists completely around in one visit. He has a gentle encouraging manner about him (and so does his staff!) that makes all the difference. His manner was not patronizing or "put on"--you could sense that he genuinely likes and cares about people and wants his patients to have a positive experience. One big difference from our other experiences, is that while at Dr. Campbells office, I was invited to stay with my daughter while they worked on her filling. I prefer this because I was able to encourage her with my presence, and I was able to be a part of her experience. Im certain that she felt more comfortable because I was at her side. In contrast, at both other pediatric dentists offices, I was not allowed to remain with my daughter while work was done. Another thing I liked was that Dr. Campbell was conservative in his evaluation of my daughters teeth. Sometimes I feel that pediatric dentists can be over zealous about things. For instance, a small spot had developed between two teeth that she will probably lose in the next year and these teeth had not caused her any trouble or pain. Dr. Campbell didnt have a "well it must be filled today" knee-jerk kind of reaction, and I appreciate that he was thoughtful and moderate in his assessment. Though what impressed me most about Dr. Campbell and his staff was their sensitive and kind manner throughout our visit. Our daughter is shy and cautious by nature, and they took pains to be encouraging and help her feel comfortable. They were careful to explain all of the equipment and procedures in a way that made sense to a six-year old. I wish I had know about Dr. Campbell years ago when our older daughter needed some work done. Because of her negative experiences at other practices, its taken years for her to regain confidence about visits to the dentist, even though she has not had a cavity in a long time and takes very good care of her teeth. I am very thankful to have found Dr. Campbell and thankful that our younger daughter will have happier memories of her first experiences with dental work. Thanks for a great experience!

THANK YOU! Campbell was great and offered the services needed in a considerate and flexible manner! Parents are completely allowed during treatment (cavities & sealants). I played with my son while he cried just a little and was somewhat scared, but he was mollified enough by having me there. After we were done (20 minutes for 2 cavities and 2 sealants) he hopped out of the chair and got some stickers - EVERYONE was happy! We did not even need novacaine for the surface cavities! --------Campbell was visited for a second opinion. First dentist, with a very nice office, recommended Versed & NO2 for 2.5yr old son because of his reticence. To boot, parents would not be allowed because of the potential ramifications and side-effects of drugging a 2.5yr old. Newer dentists in posh offices with higher capital costs are more apt to recommend treatments that may be more in depth and higher in cost. You try to be sold on the opinion that anesthetized treatments cause less trauma, but they really allow the dentists to recoup their overhead costs. --------- Visit Campbell for a thoughtful and safe approach to your childs health. THANKS AGAIN!!

Dr. Campbell and his staff make us feel like family. Not only are they kind and understanding, but they relieve anxiety for both the children and parents! My experience with other pediatric dentists and their corresponding staff have been so awful that I experienced more anxiety about my childrens appointments than they did. This changed the minute I walked into Dr. Campbells office. The front desk staff immediately put me at ease with friendly conversation and a warm welcome. The hygienists had us smiling and actually enjoying the experience! And when Dr Campbell sat down and spoke to both my child and me with respect and compassion, I actually cried tears of gratitude! Whereas other dentists had made me feel judged and inadequate as a parent because my children are prone to cavities, Dr. Campbell and his staff made me feel like my babies would be taken care of and in the best possible way. These people are an amazing team of caring individuals and we just love them! I give them my highest recommendations!

I highly recommend Dr. Campbell. We are overjoyed to have found him. After several horrible pediatric dentist experiences in Asheville, we were beginning to lose hope! We had other dentists refuse to let us stay in the room with our children, refuse to treat without sedation or laughing gas, become angry if asked questions, and even perform work on my kids without informing me beforehand! Dr. Campbell was refreshingly kind, patient, and informative!!! He has years of experience, and we feel that we can trust his decisions regarding our kids dental health. He isnt gratuitous with fillings, etc. They ask before any procedure, and respect parents preferences to fluoride, etc. He answered all of my MANY questions promptly, professionally, and conscientiously!!! Dr. Campbell has restored our faith is pediatric dentistry! We cannot say enough good things about him. My only hesitation in this recommendation is that he may get too busy!!! :) Thank you, thank you, thank you, Dr. Campbell!

Daughters first ever apppointment he didnt take his time to work with her and make her comfortable (2 year old kid okay) instead he made me hold her down and forced her mouth open. She was traumatized and all in all he literally was with us for 5 minutes I cannot imagine what hey billed insurance but it wasnt worth it. Now when its coming time for her 6 month appointment they refuse to see her (due to her being a toddler) but on Monday and Tuesdays unless you have a kid over 6 they will not see you any day but those two. This is a pediatric dentist office I cannot change my childs speech therapy around and I have standing PT on Mondays. Thought your supposed to accommodate your patients. I free all week but Monday and Tuesday and they said tough luck. Dont bother going here they are concerned about others schedules but refuse to work with you if you have a scheduling issue. Their excuse was we have other patients too so we cant work you in once. Time for a new dentist.

I drive over an hour to go to Dr. Campbell. My son fell when learning to walk and pushed his tooth back into his gums. His calmness and care with explanations and kindness greatly helped calm this scared mother! He even gave me his cell phone to call with any questions or problems! Amazing! We have now been going to him for about 8 years and would recommend him highly! We love both him and his office! My kids and I look forward to our visits to them! My kids love the extras they offer like sunglasses to wear during teeth cleaning and getting to chose what flavor they want for cleaning. The office staff work so sweetly with my sister and I to arrange getting to go at the same time!!! Definitely a five star experience every single time!!
