Even before I have had my first appointment with the practice I have become very dissatisfied with the services. My family and I were perspective new patients to the practice but after my experience yesterday and the wrong information I was given I do not see us as being patients of LFD. My daughter had a minor emergency yesterday and became ill. After picking her up at day camp and getting home I called the office to reschedule. I was told that the policy is 48 hours’ notice and I would be charged $25. First, I was surprised that it was 48 hours. Any placed I’d been before was 24 hours. Second, as a new patient that had not even been there before I was surprised that there was no leniency for this and was firmly told I would be charged $25. As I was reading over the LFD policy I saw that It talked about broken appointments but said that on the SECOND broken appointment there would be a $25 charge. There was NO mention of a charge for first time cancellations. I don’t know if the person who I spoke too did not know the policy or if she was just trying to get money out of us one way or another but I find that the lack of knowledge and understanding on your employees part to be pretty poor. Why could the employee at least say that since I was a new patient that she could wave the charge this time, since I may not have had an opportunity to read their policy? (which she stated wrongly to me anyways!) This is the second place we have tried that has put money above the patient. Second, my appointment was for today at 9AM but their website says they do not open till 10AM. It does not matter because I would have had them to cancel my appointment anyhow and as for my wife and my daughter, I have canceled there’s as well. LFD have been notified of theirs in plenty of time. Update: I talked to them by phone and it has been Amanda that I had talked with. She said that if NEW patients cancel then they are charged the first time. This is NOT spelled out in their policy anywhere. Sounds like policy is made up as they go along. Also sounds like poor customer relations because I just wanted to RESCHEDULE at first. I was still going to come in at a later date. Her demeanor was nonchalant, aloof and insincere. It did not seem to matter what my experience had been and offered no help to resolve. I guess she is nice to the ones they are already getting money from and till you pay something youll get the cold shoulder.

I wish I could give this place a lower rating for their poor business practices! While the care that I received was fine (I do not think that I was treated for anything I did not need like so many other people talk about in their reviews), the greed of this place is disgusting. Get this- following our first appointment, my husband and I sit down for a financial consultation with Amanda, the office staff. We go over the price for each of services needed as well as what we can expect to pay out of pocket. For example, I needed a crown for one of teeth and they said the procedure cost $965. My insurance covered the procedure at 50% so I would pay $482.50. Based on this consultation, we schedule some work, but not all the work because it would have been too costly for us. We paid the amount due at the time of each service, over a $1000 in total. Yes, expensive, but I knew what I was paying and I felt that I received good care. BUT THEN the dentist office charged my insurance more then the quoted amount (almost twice the amount in the case of some procedures) and demanded that I pay the difference. For example, that crown that cost $965 was billed to insurance for $1,542. My insurance paid half of this amount and my responsibility went from $482.50 to $771.00 after the procedure had already been completed. Given this information at the front end, I would have chosen another dentist, but those chose to lie about the cost of the service and demanded that I pay the difference even though they banked $289 more from my insurance company than what was expected (based on the consultation). They did this with every single procedure that we had done. They then said that they HAD TO bill the remainder to us. NO, THEY DO NOT! IT IS GREEDY AND POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE!

Dont waste your time! Although the staff where nice, they are very misleading. I scheduled an appointment to get a limited exam due to my permanent retainer braking. Of course I was out of town and 3 hours away from my normal dentist. This clinic advertises as an emergency dentist. I was requesting that the cement left on the back of my teeth from my retainer be removed. My tongue is extremely sore which is why i couldnt wait till I returned home. The clinical staff where very friendly and said it wouldnt be a problem. Once I was moved to the dental chair a staff member said it would just be cheaper to go ahead and due a cleaning because my insurance would be more likely to pay for it. I asked again.. the cement will be removed during this process. I was reassured it would be removed. So I decided it was time for my 6 month cleaning and agreed. Two hours into my appointment the dentist came in checked my teeth after the hygienist. He gave me options about replacing the retainer. I politely declined and just stated that I wanted the cement removed as its been bothering me. He left the room and didnt return. I asked the hygienist what the deal was. She said "hes not going to remove that cement today. Im not really sure why because it wouldnt take very long." I was livid.... Basically because I wasnt going to replace the device he wasnt going to help me. I would of agreed to pay whatever my insurance did not cover at the time of the visit. I guess he thought he wasnt going to make enough money off of me to be bothered. This Dentist definitely doesnt care about his patients. I am reporting them to the ADA ASAP.

These people put on an "act" of caring and professionalism until you question them...the office staff gossips about patients like school girls, the prices are way too high and the dentist is extremely self motivated! They are unreasonable regarding appointment cancellations and they lie to the insurance company to get there way. They even slander and make up stories. I am being charged full price for a temporary crown since they sold me a $397 whitening kit so I could whiten my teeth before the crown was made. The whitening kit did not work because I later found out that gray teeth like mine (from antibiotics) do not whiten. The dentist knew this and sold me the kit anyway which the going rate is $217 not the ridiculous price of $397 and now told my insurance company that my crown was made 4 weeks ago!!!! How could they make the crown if they havent seen my teeth color? They were supposed wait until I finished the whitening kit and "check" the color to match it. I am not letting this go! I have had it with money hungry dentists! Oh and he had this "Integrity" plaque in the bathroom telling you how he has his patients best interests at heart. More like his profits!!!! Update January 30, 2016 Just found out that two procedures that Erlt claimed myself and my husband needed were unnecessary!!!
