This is one of the worst hospitals Ive ever been to. My mother had a stroke and was rushed to Transylvania, and even though they have had renovations throughout the past few years, the place is still un-kept, the staff is uncaring and does not concern themselves with the welfare of the patient. They did not let her drink water for 5 straight hours, even though they said after her first test that she could drink, only 30 minutes into the visit. They did not have any socks or booties for her, and she had to walk around the hospital from test to test in her bare feet, and the bathroom was covered in urine, and all the nurse did was throw paper towels down so that my mother could walk on the floor, even though the paper towels were soaked with urine. She didnt even attempt to clean it up. The nurse who did the IV, missed her vein 5 times in a row, and then finally went to her arm to draw blood. We asked if she was new there, but apparently shes been there for almost 5 years, and even with her experience, she was that awful. They did an MRI on her, and said that she was fine, but after we got a copy of her MRI and CT, we took her to a different hospital and they told her the complete opposite and actually took care of her. Ive heard horror stories about this hospital before, but I didnt believe it until they had to take care of my mother and I saw it all first hand. Ive had a few friends in the past years pass away from complications, and now that Ive been to the hospital, I would actually say that they may have passed away due to the disgusting and under trained, uncaring staff at Transylvania Hospital. TERRIBLE. I know if I ever get sick, Ill make sure they fly me to Mission before I ever get taken care of there.

After a terrible fall on May 4th, I visited the ER at Transylvania Regional Hospital and received the kindest, most attentive care I have ever had in a medical facility, bar none. I was hurt (four broken ribs, blood in my lungs, etc.) but was surrounded by a staff that obviously put people first. From the attendants to the doctor, including a nursing student, several nurses, aids, technicians, and an EMT, every single person was encouraging, engaging, and working to attend to my needs AND make me feel safe and unafraid. I wish I could remember each name but do remember Randy, John, and Dr. Bridges, but that is only because I am terrible with names. My nurses were fabulous, and I have told everyone how terrific this hospital staff was. It was a Sunday, and no one had the attitude or remarked that they wish they were somewhere else, which is so often the case these days. I cannot say enough nice things. I hope somehow they will get the word. God blessed me with these professionals!

My mother was immediately taken to Transylvania Regional Hospital after visiting her Primary Care Physician on August 3,2015. She has had pulmonary fibrosis for several years and her breathing has been getting more difficult over time. She was admitted to the hospital through the emergency room where she received excellent treatment and was diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs. (Not good for a person with pulmonary fibrosis) She was in the hospital from Monday afternoon until her passing on Thursday afternoon. In those three days in ICU my mother received excellent care, attentiveness and top notch treatment from each nurse, doctor, CNA, radiology staff, respiratory staff, and anyone else who came in contact with our family. Her family will always be grateful for your excellent care to our mother. God Bless you all!!!

Went to the ER last spring for a minor motorcycle accident. They charged an astronomical price to see a doctor for 5 minutes. He wrapped my leg (very poorly, it came off an hour later), and he wrote me a prescription for antibiotics that I didnt even fill. They took an x-ray of my leg that I ended up getting 5 different bills for. I would have received better care pouring some hydrogen peroxide on it at home and wrapping it correctly myself. I would have saved close to $2,500 too... My leg is all healed now, Im running like a gazelle, however Ill never forget this rip-off of a hospital.

In the event of an emergency, Id rather bleed out and expire in the street than be transported to the quack house aka Transylvania Hospital. With the exception of a couple of fine physicians, they could care less about the health and welfare of the patient and are only interested in how much they can financially rape a patient. The CFO as well as the Board of directors, especially its chairman, should be incarcerated. Mission Hospital should hang its head in shame for associating with this charlatan infested institution.

When I went to the ER I was put in to one of the rooms I waited there for 2 hours and nothing was done with me until after the 2 hours then the doctor came in for not even 2 minutes then they charge u a crazy bill for u just waiting. They did not even tell me what they were going to do. I got the bill on Halloween and I have to pay it by the 20th of November. So my advice to anyone reading this DO NOT COME HERE.

Totally love this hospital. Have visited the emergency room twice, once for a heart attack and once for a broken toe. The staff was very professional, serviced my needs and had me on my way within an hour.
